There was another customer in there who just got out of the dressing area receiving positive and cheerful comments. Both sales associates were very pleasant to her. Since I carried my daughter who was about to fall asleep I asked my husband if he could inquire if they had the sneaker in a size EU 36. Oh boy that demeanor of the heavier set sales associate changed! Cold and rude she snapped saying that this is a size 6, which I confirmed to my husband. He added, kindly what the return policy is since he already knew that I wouldn't be able to try them on in the store, given I carried my half asleep daughter. In a condescending tone we were told that we can only return via store credit. Check out was cold and unpleasant. Amusing that the heavier set sales associate seemed so pleasant to the Caucasian appearing customer but not to us. I always felt that the Hinsdale community is rather diverse in respect to suburban communities but it was evident that some of the quiet parts are still very loud and obvious. The associates working here at this location doesn't bother you or even speak. You just shop in peace until you ask for assistance. Decent selections of women clothing and accessories. The newer items are at the front of the store and the older items are at the back of the store. The discounts start small and become larger from new to old. Most expert shoppers know to start at the clearance section. At this store there were some items marked at 80% off. We do not care about what year of fashion something was made. We care about the discount. If things are not the right price, you can put them on a wish list, where they will contact you when and if the price drops. The staff was very nice. Ms. G took great care of us. She brought out clothes from the rear of the store as my wife tried different items. Big note, they ship also!!! This store only has bottled water unlike the main line store that has Italian coffee for the shoppers. We spent a couple of hours here and did some great damage.

You are allowed to pick only 3 to try on in one hour ,once you get assigned a fitting room (and then wait in that line)If you are lucky enough to have someone with you, they can return 1 or 2 of the 3 dresses after you try them on, and go pick another 1 or 2 for you to try, but the staff scans each dress you try and each dress you return to ensure each person will have no more than 3 dresses in their possession at any time. There is a man on an actual hoverboard returning all the dresses to the racks as fast as possible. So as the mom, I spent an hour running from the floor to the dressing room carrying dresses for her to try, 1 at a time. She had taken pictures of other ones she liked but that wasn't helpful since the inventory is literally like a revolving belt between the 30-40(ish) dressing rooms and the rack. And when they say you get 1 hour, they mean it. They come by telling you when you have 7 mins left, 4 mins left, etc. We had a dress selected to purchase, but asked for 3-4 more minutes to just try the exact same dress one size smaller and were told no, we'd have to re-register and start the wait again. Their business model is clever-create a sense of urgency to choose one dress to purchase because of a time limit and the availability of inventory constantly rotating in and out of other people's dressing rooms. They create FOMO. Also, because they create a sense of urgency, the girls are not carefully putting these dresses on. We encountered several with snags, broken zippers, missing ribbons to lace up, etc. Their prices were what you'd expect, $300-$400 range but are not designer quality. They are a well oiled machine, but too much so if they can't allow a 3 minute extension. If you don't like going to Cheesecake Factory because their food menu is a million pages long, overpriced, and mediocre, then you won't like this place. I happily stumbled upon Uncharted as I ventured the strip. At first I was rather overwhelmed and had sensory overload from al the cuteness, but quickly became familiar with the store after doing an initial walk thru. They have a nice selection of clothes and carefully curated items. I appreciate the variety and can see my wallet hurting if I brought my teen and tweenage girls. Last but not least, they had the Swedish gummy pop up selling at a great price. You bet I took advantage of that! I will definitely come back with my girls and maybe a mom's only shopping trip.

Uncharted is a very nice gift store, and larger inside than you expect. There were candles, housewares, cards, clothes, toys, jewelry, candy, men's gifts, and more. It was also not like she was looking for a crazy size - 12 - and after a quick google search, many of the brands listed carry to a twelve, some even higher. I was the only customer. I was dressed nicely but not dressed-up. I am a firm believer that one need not "dress up" to go shopping. One woman who, I think is the owner, said "hi" to me but nothing more than that. Not one of the employees ever asked me if I needed help or what I was looking for. While I was looking around the three of them stood in the middle of the store chatting. My guess is based on what I was wearing (again, nice) likely made them deduce that I couldn't afford their clothing, nor was I the right clientele. Guess what? I could more than afford that store. I have bought many of the brands they carry from other stores. My husband and I have a HHI that I predict is well beyond any of their's including the owner's. That, however, should not matter. How unfortunate it is when people judge others so harshly and wrongly. Shame on all three of you women who were in the store today, August 3rd at approximately 2:30. My husband and I recently moved from the Gold Coast downtown. I can tell you employees at the stores on Oak St. (far nicer than Sweet William) were always welcoming, friendly and helpful. So many customer reviews say how nicely they were greeted; how helpful the staff is; great personal service etc. The staff I WAS NOT greeted by today was unfriendly and the epitome of snobby.

This place has been around since my teenage days back when there used to still be a Venture and a record store in that little shopping center. Who would have ever thought that this little shop would have outlasted them all? I'm not sure. But that one little dress might be a good start as to the reason.
