I called Mr. Rooter to inquire and they sent the original plumber to inspect. They agreed to install the tank at no cost to me other than for the tank and pipe, which I did not purchase the first time. After several minutes diagnosing the problem, the conferred with the manufacturer over FaceTime. I had never seen that before, but it added to my confidence in getting my issue fixed. They ordered the required part, and they came out two days later to install it and drain my lines. They temporarily got my hot water running until they could install the new part.
