Very frustrating experience. I was eventually added to an email thread with the manufacturer of my BBQ and learned that BBQ Revivers had accepted the repair job on 3/25 and was supposed to contact me directly to schedule the repair. Unfortunately, weeks went by and I never heard from them. My brand-new BBQ still wasn't repaired, so I tried contacting BBQ Revivers myself and left several voicemails, but never received a callback. Jack came by because I asked him to change my gas BBQ regulator since the burners were not igniting. He started by cleaning the gas holes in the burners, which prevented the gas from getting to the igniters, and then he was able to ignite the burners. The flame on one of the burners was very yellow instead of blue which he said means that it wasn't as efficient so he spent a lot of time cleaning out the corrosion from the inside of the burner which fixed the problem. He spent a lot of time attempting to fix the igniter for that burner but it was damaged but still working (it took longer to ignite). He also replaced the gas regulator. All in all, Jack really knows his stuff and I would recommend anyone with a BBQ issue to schedule him to come out and take care of it......you won't regret it !!!!! read more

WOW! Jack did a great job on our grill. We had a lot of rust on our grill and somehow he managed to get them out. I thought we would have to replace some parts. Not responsive at all I have been calling Jack since November. Most recently, I texted him in April. Left a voicemail in May. Texted him again last week. I have never received one reply. His voicemails also says he has plenty of work, but leave a message. The newest message suggests we contact someone else. I don't know how he chooses which customers to help, but given the recent Yelp ratings, he is still working. What a nice problem to have, especially during a pandemic. With so many folks out of work, can't he hire a helper? It would be fair if he had a waiting list. It doesn't feel good being ignored. I really need his service. My middle burner had gone out on my Weber Genesis 310, such that I could no longer get the grill to get above 350° or so. I decided after a couple of years of inaction to replace the burner tubes (which turned out not to be the problem), and in doing so, I (with the help of a neighbor) broke off the bolts holding the burner tube chassis in place. I needed professional help before shelling out $800+ for a similar quality new grill. And TBH I really would rather have fixed it than contributed to landfill with it. It took a while for Jack to get back to me, but it was worth the wait. He came out, did a deep unclogging of the gas tube, and got the chassis solidly back in place. The grill now gets back up well above 500°, and I could not be happier. read more

I am so happy to have found BBQ Revivers. When I first contacted him for service, his recording said that he was overloaded with service requests so it would be a while before he could get back to me. I understood that message to mean not to expect a call back until he was available. So I emailed him back with the request for service along with address and contact info. I figured that it would be useful to have it written rather than having to write down a message. 2-3 Months later, I get a call from Jack asking if I was available for his service the following Monday. He was on time to the appointment and diagnosed our main problem pretty quickly. I thought that our ignitor needed replacement but it turned out that the regulator was the problem. He had the part with him so he was able to fix the problem on the spot. He also fixed a couple of other things that had worn out and I saw that he also serviced the fuel tubes and checked to be sure that everything was working overall. I did not need him to clean the entire grill so the servicing was well worth the price to have a grill that operates as it should. I highly recommend BBQ Revivers. read more

I contacted Jack this summer about cleaning our Bull Grill. He was fully booked for a few months, so I put it on the back burner for now. No pun intended. Out of the blue he calls and leaves a message. He noticed that I had called several months ago about getting our grill cleaned, and offered to put us at the top of his schedule if we were still interested. Jack's BBQ Revivers is as good as it comes. We recently did some BBQ fixes ourselves and learned the hard way that it's wasn't safe to use. Fortunately, we identified it before it became a bigger, serious problem. After reviewing Yelp, we called BBQ Revivers and left a message. The first impressive experience we had was that Jack returned our phone call at 8:30 p.m. the same day I left the message. Unfortunately, he said he couldn't come by timely to fix it himself, but he gave step by step instructions to my husband on what the problem could be and how to fix it. Basically, a free service. While we were so disappointed that we couldn't recruit his help, we were so impressed with the returned phone call and the solutions he gave us. Well, it didn't stop there. The very next day, he called us late morning and said one of his appointments just cancelled and he thought he could stop by to check out our BBQ given it's a safety problem. He came promptly to Alameda and did exactly what he told my husband the night before. And, sure enough...the gas line has two small holes (wear and tear) that could have been a major problem untreated. Like a BBQ Whisperer, he identified the exact problem, went to the hardware store and got the replacement part, installed it all in one hour. It was magical. So hard to get this type of service today. Someone who is caring, honest and who knows what he's doing. No big talk. No super-charging. Just quietly did his thing...just priceless. The BBQ did come out very clean. Not as clean as I hoped, but better than I could do. I was quoted a price of 420. When I got home, they said the bill was 720, as it was more work than they expected. I reluctantly agreed to the amount after the fact. They said they would come back the next day and install the parts. Well, they came back about a week later and charged another 65 dollars for a service charge. I never like to give a small company a bad yelp score, but these people are crazy. I never agreed to pay more than 420, and I would never have agreed to 785. There are lots of people who will do at least as good a job, for less and without the drama. Unfortunately, they don't use email, so it is impossible to get quotes in writing. read more

I would give Jack 6 stars, if possible! Very knowledgable about Weber grills! I phoned this morning- asking about a possible repair to the propane line of my 16 year old Weber Grill. I really wanted to fix it, instead if dumping it in the landfill. I am so happy that I called BBQ Revivers!! Right off hand, Jack knew what model number it was and that he had the part in stock!
