I'm…read morenot from the Killeen area so let me start off by saying I support black-owned businesses 100% and purchased something from every one of them at the event whether I needed what they were selling or not. Food was okay. I thought dessert size was a bit small for the price so I passed on them. As a consumer that loves to shop and eat I wanted to share my input on business transparency. Understand your rights and beware: They are charging 4% (the max for credit card purchases) in addition to adding tax on the 4% and your purchase. I work in finance and can calculated total automatically in my head. When I asked about the higher amount for my food before paying I was told it was the taxes. Not to hold up the line and it was hot as all get out; I asked for receipt and noticed that the 4% was added to the advertised food item and additional taxes added as a result. Businesses have to disclose upfront before closing the transaction that they are charging a processing fee for credit card purchases. My issue is I used a debit card and should not have been charged a fee (illegal under the Texas business statute) at all. Black business education yourself and don't be the victim of fines accessed by the State of Texas for failing to know the laws and statues protecting consumers.
