Happened to be nearby, so of course I stopped in. Baby K wanted mac and cheese, and of course I wanted all of the BBQ. They've moved a bit, down the street and on the other side; follow your GPS and watch for the signs (they're kind of tucked away now.) Still the same stuff: good meats and sides. I got rib tips- because if they are on the menu you should always get rib tips (same with burnt ends.) They were great: smoky, flavorful, not too dry. And a big portion. Sided with corn pudding (good, a bit more pudding-y than I am used to) and baked beans (very good; a different style than most with less sauce, but tons of flavor.) K got mac, slaw, and a bun. And when she said she wanted some meat, they gave us a cup of pulled pork (which she of course didn't end up eating, but I did and it was excellent.) Sweetie got a pulled pork sandwich with greens and mac, and loved it all. Great service (and very kid-friendly.) Great food. Good prices for what you are getting. Hadn't been to this place in a year and decided to stop in. Ordered the Beef Brisket sandwich with a spicy BBQ sauce on it. Brisket had a nice smoky flavor and the spicy bbq sauce had just the right amount of heat to it. All of this on a potato bun. Had Mac n cheese which was super creamy with a bread crumbs on top. Delicious!! Had the Corn pudding which wasn't as sweet as some I've tasted. The corn tasted like fresh picked corn. Ordered some baked beans which are totally homemade, super moist beans mixed with fresh cut onions, some stringy pieces of pork in a nice sauce that wasn't super sweet. The potato salad was definitely homemade, everything was definitely fresh, made with red potatoes, hard boiled eggs, celery, green peppers, red peppers. In town for a baseball tournament and searching yelp for somewhere to eat we came across this little gem. My son and I love BBQ and we wanted to help out another local business so we went for it and we were not disappointed! I got the 1/4 slab rib combo with potato salad and baked beans for my sides and extra spicy sauce on the ribs. First of all the meat was so tender it was falling off the bone and the extra spicy sauce was just that, it had a nice little kick! The beans were absolutely amazing and the potato salad was homemade and also very good. If you're not from the area and gonna try it you gotta really keep your eyes open for it, we drove past it and had to double back. This mom-and-pop BBQ is where it is at. I have never had bbq taste so good. They have different types of BBQ, mild medium, and then spicy. Had the pulled chicken sandwich, mac and cheese, and mixed greens. The chicken was tender and juicy and had that great pit smoked flavor. Both sauces were good, but the spicy could be hotter. The greens had a sweet vinegary taste on top of little brisket pieces mixed in. I really liked them and the Mac and cheese was solid too. The lady running the truck was friendly and welcoming. I was craving some pickles, Tracy said they're a bit on the sweet/tangy side, so I caved in and got the pint size. All was good. ALL was soooo good! The meats were all full of flavor and moist as the dickens. The corn side dish was fluffy-mashed-potatoes consistency. Taste wise, a hint of sweet and a slight kick in the back of your throat (just enough to keep me coming back for another bite!). The mixed greens were also good. The pickles were TO DIE FOR. Slight spices. Not overly salty or tangy. Just plain... addictive! Note: If it's cold outside, patrons can wait in your car, and they bring your order to your window. For all the food we ordered, everything was brought hot and fresh to us in under 10 minutes. You can definitely tell they know how to run their business like a pro! I probably wouldn't order the mac n cheese again because it was fairly bland but everything else was delicious! The lady working in the truck was very friendly and even brought our food to our car so we didn't have to stand in the below freezing weather. You ever have one of those days where you drive all the way to Groveport to buy a swingset and meet a guy on Craigslist to tear it down and set it up? And then he doesn't show or return calls until texting 10 minutes after arranged meeting time to tell you he wasn't going to make it. I went with Greens and Corn Pudding for sides. Great idea because I can eat those while driving, well for the most part. The corn pudding has a bit of a pepper spice that gives it a nice aftertaste. My wife didnt think it to be that great but I loved it. The greens were excellent comong from somone who doesn't usualluy get greens. Now the greens are good to eat for the first half but a little too much liquid at the bottom that ended up on my steering wheel. Finally I arrived at my destination and taste the BBQ goodness. The Brisket was excellent as the bun totally soaked up juicy goodness and practicaly disappeared. My only wish is that they would use different buns or bread as they weren't anything special. The Brisket was juicy, tender, and plenty. I had a lot left sitting in my container after I finished the sandwich. i ordered the spicy which was sweeter than spicy so that would be a slight knock in my book. Ok, for a small food stand, this place is pretty good. We came here on our way to the airport, and it was worth it. Stupendous food, great service, which was really fast, given a group of 14. The combo option is pretty smart, and most, of not all of us got that option. It comes with a meat option and two sides for a good price. Some got ribs, some got sandwiches, all with a variety of sides. I don't know the next time I'll be here, but I'll come back for this place. The BBQ itself is great. The sides are ok. The location they are in now is not so great. I know they had to move, but being behind the hair shop by the goats next to Ohio Mulch isn't appetizing and it's hard to find them if you don't know where to look. They need a better location. Back to the food, the meat is barbequed to perfection, but the sides are often a little watery or kind of soggy. I can't help but compare them to City BBQ or Smoky Bones. They've got the meat, but sometimes the sides just don't make the cut, and it seems overpriced for their location. read more

Went back to OD's and some things never change, and it's for the better. This little hole in the wall produces some of the best, if not they best BBQ in central Ohio. The owner(s) are friendly and it shows that they are about putting a great meal in each patrons hand at a price that is still affordable. I'm a big fan of OD's. Keep up the great job! read more

I'm originally from the south, the Memphis area to be exact and this is easily the best barbecue I've had outside of the south. I had the homemade corn pudding and homemade mac and cheese which was equally as phenomenal. The mac and cheese people usually make pretty grainy but this was smooth. That corn pudding is out if this world. Highly recommend this place. read more

Wow! First time getting BBQ from OD, we got the brisket, pulled pork, half rack, and coleslaw for the side. We ordered it with the sweet sauce, which was sweet but not cloyingly sweet; for a sweet sauce it definitely had a surprising amount of pepperiness to it. All of the meat was fresh out of the smoker and kept on heat without being refrigerated first (then reheated, a process that destroys some of the flavors you only get when the Q is fresh out the smoker). The same can be said of the pork and the ribs, and the ribs were very much "fall off the bone" (which made it a bit harder to eat with hands). Coleslaw was nice, creamy, and very fresh (had the after taste you only get from fresh cabbage); normally I'm not a fan, but I very much enjoyed OD's rendition of slaw. As an added bonus they are located next to an awesome farmer's market. The best BBQ that I've had in Columbus, and steps above your average run of the mill City BBQ. read more

Just found this place yesterday, and I'm here to tell you that Columbus BBQ fans should go give this good man some business. I couldn't believe it when he told me he'd had this truck for 5 1/2 years, as I have searched hi and low and thought I knew about every BBQ joint in the city, but I guess not. I got a few different things so here's a breakdown: Brisket - 8/10 - finally chopped, moist, smokey, and delicious. The owner also told me he feels this is his best. Potato salad - 9/10 - truly excellent red skinned potato salad, little bits of celery in there, the best Ive had anywhere aside from maybe Katzingers. Rib Tips - 3/10 - I got a pound, and I usually love rib tips, but these were dry and fairly tough. I was there just before close so they may have been sitting out. BBQ beans - 7/10 - solid flavor, thick pasty kind of sauce, and pretty smokey. Not as good as City imo, but tasty nonetheless. BBQ Sauce - 6/10 - They do both a spicy and a sweet. The spicy has legitimate heat, unlike many other places, and both are pretty smoky as well. A notch below Ray Ray's or City's sauce but still pretty good. My friend also had the pulled pork and said it was very good, and he's a BBQ enthusiast as well. The only downside is that it's all the way down on Winchester Pike, but since its all freeway it only took me about 20 minutes from the Short North. If 15 miles is all that stands between you and an Overdose of barbecue, I don't have to tell you what the correct decision is. read more

First time eating here. Service was fine and quick. Prices were as to be expected. I ordered the ribs, potato salad and corn pudding. Ribs were tender and a great size. I wish I would have had the sauce on the side. Too much sauce in my opinion, But can't fault them for that. I fell in love with the potato salad. Lots of flavor and it actually reminded me of a "salad". Corn pudding wasn't my favorite. Taste was fine but texture was a bit too runny for me. I'm used to baked corn pudding. Not sure this one was. This spot went down from 4 stars to 2 in the 2 years since I first reviewed it. The sides have gotten sloppy, and considering they had the best corn pudding in town, that's kind of a travesty. It's gone sweet instead of peppery. The meats are okay now, feeling a little tired and overcooked around the edges. I used to recommend this place all of the time. Excellent BBQ. I ordered take out but there are picnic tables on site if you choose.I ordered the beef brisket and sides of corn pudding, baked beans and potato salad. The brisket was 'yuge' in portion! Lots of beef piled on a bun, with pickles and a few onions mixed in. It was so much meat on that bun that I didn't dare lift it out of its paper boat serving dish for fear that I would be wearing it on my shirt. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but more importantly, I didn't want lose any falling to the ground. So I ate it from the plate. The pickles, well I don't praise condiments very often but these pickle chips snapped and crunched on each bite, very fresh! I got the sweet sauce, but they also have a spicy sauce. The sauce and portion size added was tangy and added just enough sweetness to the meat without drowning the meat flavor. The brisket on its own was juicy, succulent and had the right amount of smoky flavor that it more than stands on its own. I got some spicy sauce for sampling. I like the spicy too. It has just the right kick but it doesn't burn or over power my tastebuds. I might ask to have the sweet and spicy mixed together next time. Wow, the sides! I got three but the platter special includes two. I just couldn't settle for two my first time there. Again, the corn pudding and baked beans have just the right amount of sweetness but not overly sweet. The corn pudding was probably the best I've ever had. The beans have some brisket in it and they tasted freshly made, not soggy or from a can. The potato salad was made with redskin potatoes, eggs, celery, mayo and seasoning. A very good potato salad, not made with mustard that I could taste. Mustard potato salad is a no-no in my book, and potato salad with too much vinegar is just as bad. I can't wait to go back and try the pulled pork and other menu items. I'm so happy that I 'found' OD on BBQ so close to my new home in Canal Winchester. read more

The brisket is good and you can choose from 2 types of sauces. The sauces are average. I got a rack of ribs and they weren't prepped like I like them. The ends had a lot of cartelidge and grisle.
