Then when you come back to drop off the car they will put the car in a overly lit garage going over every inch of the car and claim they found new damage. The credit card block off $1100 will now be charged to your card and they will stop all communication with you. This is how they are able to offer you a cheap price! Don't risk it and rent a car through a certified rental car office!

The car requested was not the one given. They said that they put snow tires on for us, but the tires had no traction and honestly looked like donuts. We received 3 speeding tickets on a 2 day trip. (NOT SURE HOW THAT HAPPENED) but they charged a 53 dollar admin fee per ticket. The person at the desk took their merry old time with everything and caused us significant delays as well. I was supposed to check in downstairs at first, but i didn't, and only emerald enterprise members can check in upstairs directly. However, Asimina did not turn me away, but she did explain kindly that i was supposed to check in downstairs first. She proceeded to help me, and i got my rental car very quickly! I ordered a Toyota Corolla Station Wagon and they provided me with a Jeep hybrid vehicle. This vehicle was a 2018 and it had more buzzers than I can count. Drove to Mol, Belgium and it frankly was the most nerve wreaking drive I have ever made. Buzzed when staying in my lane, buzzed when another vehicle passed me, buzzed when driving by hedges, buzzed when driving by guardrails. buzzed when I approached an intersection. Tried to turn the vehicle in at Geel, Belgium on Wednesday afternoon. Nope, gate locked before closing time. Came back the next day, gate open. Office locked up and no one around. Placed key in after hour collection box. Avis notified me that I failed to pick up my vehicle and any rental costs were non-refundable. Funny I'm driving the car they gave me. When I looked up my past car rental they said I drove 1 mile. Out at 7108, in at 7109. The vehicle that I drove was nice except then non-stop buzzers. If you rent from Avis at the Amsterdam airport be prepared to walk, walk, and walk. They may give you a car you didn't rent, except its a comparable model. Make sure and don't rent one way, they rake you over the coals. Also, see if you can turn it in early and get a credit for it. I'm not renting from Avis ever again. You can make your own decision.

To make it even better? One got of the phone and started gossiping/bitching to his colleague about the client he just got fed up with, right in front of us. Pretty sure they did the same after we left (not nice!!) we are not deaf...you are not customer friendly "dude" So, yes, maybe the guys didn't know we where able to understand their Dutch language, they sure did after I started talking to my husband in Dutch. (Burn!!) We strolled about 500 meters to the parking spot (totally at the end of the airport complex) and got the grump too.... But than! We rented a car from this Avis while we were visiting Amsterdam. This location is not fancy but the staff was exceedingly great. The woman who helped us offered to upgrade us and then even let us select the vehicle we wanted. We were given an almost brand new car that had all the bells and whistles you want in a modern car as well as an absolutely great in-car guidance system with a huge screen (we kind of loved it). Our friend then proceeded to ask us about our trip, where we were going with the car and she gave us a number of helpful tips and suggestions. Totally unnecessary but extremely appreciated. She and the gentleman who did the walkaround with us were both just as nice and could be. Our rental went smoothly, we returned using the key drop box as instructed and had no issues at all. Would absolutely rent from here again.

As they did not have a car to swap, Hertz advised me to drive to a local dealer to have it looked at...what? After expressing my concern, the sent the local ANWB who then inspected the rental car. 2 bold front tires, overdue in service AND a transmission problem!!! The report was sent to the local Hertz office and suddenly there was a car available to swap, bless their harts. I reached out to Hertz customer service and apologized for receiving a dirty car and offered a $50 certificate on my next rental to gain back my trust. I could have had an accident or being stranded on the Freeway...truly sad!

The metal wire was already coming through - see pictures attached. We spent hours and hours on the phone with Hertz to get the tires replaced at a garage and get a replacement vehicle. Despite the run-around and hassle, I'm mostly upset about the fact they let us drive in an unsafe vehicle. The garage employee let us know that we got very lucky. He said that we were ten kilometers away from a tire blow-out. Nobody at Hertz apologized. Nobody at Hertz acknowledged how dangerous a tire blow-out could have been on the highway (we had our 6 y/o daughter in the car with us). Due to their neglect my family, and everyone who rented this vehicle before us, were unknowingly subjected to a very serious safety hazard.
