do not rent a car here!! please read! they will rent you the car for a cheap price, distract you when you're picking up the car( i.e. quickly walk around the car parked outside of their office) and block $1100 on your creditcard. Then when you come back to drop off the car they will put the car in a overly lit garage going over every inch of the car and claim they found new damage. The credit card block off $1100 will now be charged to your card and they will stop all communication with you. This is how they are able to offer you a cheap price! Terrible experience. First off the rental car office is no where near Schipol airport. It's about a 20 minute shuttle ride that only comes once per hour. The car requested was not the one given. They said that they put snow tires on for us, but the tires had no traction and honestly looked like donuts. We received 3 speeding tickets on a 2 day trip. (NOT SURE HOW THAT HAPPENED) but they charged a 53 dollar admin fee per ticket. The person at the desk took their merry old time with everything and caused us significant delays as well. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!! SCAMMERS!!! Here's how they run their scams. You first get a low daily car rental quote for under €100.00 when you're on their website. Then after you book it, you immediately get 2 confirmation emails containing your rental voucher. The first email shows the amount you were quoted on when you booked it, mines was €86.74. Then the 2nd email shows an amount that's slightly higher for no reason, mines was for €98.40. I wasn't too concerned about it at the time. Little did I know that they had already charged my credit card for the €98.40. I didn't know this until I got home from my trip. What kind of business charges someone before services and products were even rendered? Scammers do! Now for the 2nd part of their scam. The day I go to pick up my car, the agent informed me that the added insurance coverage for the rental will bring my total to €94.00. Now mind you, I SPECIFICALLY asked him if this would be in addition to the cost of the rental (not knowing they already charged me for the rental) and he said no and that, as long as I returned the car back with no damage than, I would only be charged a total of €94.00 for my car rental. He blantantly lied to me. I returned home a day later to find 2 charges from Green Motion totaling over $200.00 (EUR to USD) on my credit card, but I also received an emailed invoice for charges totaling only the €94.00, only this invoice had the wrong return date. They said I returned the car a day later than when I actually did. I thought this was clearly a clerical error on their end. They must have accidentally charged me when I booked my rental and then again on the day I picked up the rental, right? Well, when I contacted them about the charges, they informed me how the rental insurance is actually in addition to the rental cost and since I signed for it at their rental office, then I am responsible for it in addition to the charge of the cost of the rental that was pre-charged on the day I booked it. Therefore, I would be responsible for the entire charge of €192.40!!! This is when my jaw dropped. Throughout my entire corespondance with Green Motion, from the time I went on their website to the time I dropped off my rental, I was NEVER told that my 28.5 hour car rental would total anywhere near that much. This was the first time I had ever saw this amount on an invoice. I reiterated how THEIR agent clearly gave me false info about what the charges were for when I picked up my rental, but they didn't care. I mean seriously, who would agree to purchase a rental insurance that cost more than the actual cost to rent the car??? They clearly lie to their customers to get them to purchase this bogus overpriced insurance and then play dumb afterwards. THEY.ARE.SCAMMERS!!! Do not rent from this company. read more

We needed a car for a day and Green Motion was the cheapest. Big mistake!! Firstly they took quite a big deposit of €1100. When we returned the car they found a scratch under the passenger side front door. We definitely did not scratch the car. They then kept €660 of our deposit for a tiny scratch. How can this be?? It's absolutely ridiculous. We need that money!! Next time we will pay a little bit more and rather stick with a company we know. read more

Poor service, attitude and treatment. I have rented from all the majors in many countries so I have a good basis to compare. Check in is slow, opens late and closes early. So anything outside of normal hours will leave you at the airport or hotel until they open. Despite a location that is far off the airport and a pain to get to, I liked that they promoted clean air cars. First experience was good when they were new; they went downhill quickly. Last week I got a car that was not clean, tank was not quite full and was as basic as it gets. I mentioned it to the agent and they told me "it's full enough" and bring back the same. I did and they charged me 30 euros for it. I rented a GPS with the car that turned out to be defective. It crashed often and twice took me to dead ends despite a specific address input. I returned the car one and half day early. No credit for anything and when I mentioned GPS was defective, agent turned it on and said it seems to work fine and treated me like I was making stuff up. I told him to test it himself by putting their own address and he said we will later. No apologies or acknowledging inconvenience. Just a go F$%K yourself attitude. Meanwhile he put the box next to rest of the nondescript gps boxes ensuring no one will find which was the one I returned. Never will I make this mistake again. What a scam! Not only is this place a long shuttle ride from the airport, but when we returned the car we were charged a cleaning fee even though it was spotless. We had washed the windows, wiped down in and outside and had been very careful throughout the weekend. Apparently there was dust on the driver's side floor (was she supposed to drive barefoot)? This is clearly a hidden fee and utter bs. Will rent elsewhere in future - - in Amsterdam there are certainly many other better options. read more

Being some kms from Schipohl unlike airport-based companies, you have to add the transportation to their car rental price. Still it could have been a good price...if they had delivered the service, which they didn´t. They did not accept to block the garantee from my card, nor accepted money. They left me in the middle of nowhere without indications on how to return to the airport, were I had to walk through the snow. They did not give back the car rental money. Awful. read more

The windows in the car weren't cleaned right, still dirty. Smudges on the seats. A lot of small scratches on the car. They didn't clean the outside right either. Plus there were ashes inside the car as if someone had smoked just before we got it. Tire pressure really bad. The bus ride to the rental place took 15 min. I told the lady at the desk about it and she said: no definitely it takes 6 minutes to get to Schiphol. On the way back it took 35 min before the shuttle bus came. The ride took more than 6 minutes.. all the staff from the rental company as well as the bus drivers should follow a class in friendliness!! The lady who helped me had such a smirk when she told me abou the absurd deposit amount, which we had to buy off them for an additional fee. If you want to pay too much for a dirty car, with unfriendly staff, at a place not close to the airport then this is your place to be. I will never ever go back to them! read more
