Head Chef Richard and Restaurant Manager Courtney went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and you can taste the care that goes into every plate. My Caesar salad was perfectly dressed -- not drowning, not dry, just exactly right, and the cup of crab bisque was rich, comforting, and exactly what I was hoping for (paired with an ice-cold Diet Coke, of course). My daughter happily devoured her buttered noodles, and my mom raved about her French dip, which arrived beautifully toasted and full of flavor. A special shout-out to our waitress Sam, who took such excellent care of us throughout the meal. Attentive without hovering, warm, and genuinely lovely, exactly the kind of service that turns a good meal into a memorable one. Passable food for a pretty penny. It was surprising to find such a quaint eatery within a department store, and I wouldn't have been able to find it without Emmett's comment. The spirit free drinks were surprisingly expensive, with some being $14. My server, Tony, was helpful and the food came out relatively quickly. However, everyone seemed to disappear toward the end of my meal. *Lilac Fizz: a refreshing combination of lavender, lemon, and soda. This was bright and tart, although the lavender was subtle. A bit more lavender syrup would have made it feel more spring esque. *Skirt Steak Chimichurri: came with a side of broccolini and either fingerling potatoes or fries. Tony recommended the fries, and they came with a side of kalamata aioli. The fries were a tad limp but salted well. The broccolini was a bit underdone, but similarly salty. The most notable flavor came from the kalamata aioli, with pronounced acidity. I ordered the steak medium rare and it was perfectly cooked. It was juicy and pink throughout. However, it was very bland. The chimichurri tasted like almost nothing, which was a shame given that the skirt steak itself wasn't seasoned much at all. My companion ordered the salad and while the greens were piled high, the roasted chicken was skimped on despite being $21. Overall, the flavors needed to be more concentrated and distinct. Especially for the higher prices, I expected better ingredient quality. Bazille is a nice place to stop by for a lunch at UTC. They have nice gems for a bistro. I had some jerk chicken wings and a cup of crab bisque. My wife had a crab mac and cheese. The mac and cheese had a creamy sauce, but we would have loved for the breadcrumb crust to have been more toasted. The jerk chicken had more of a dry rub that was charred for that familiar flavor. It was good; however, it would have been better with some sort of sauce to reinforce the jerk flavors. Their crab bisque had large chunks of lump crab meat and nice tomato and seafood flavors in the broth. me and some apartment friends went here for lunch. It's so nice to go to the mall and then stop at nordstrom for a little shopping and lunch! I don't do this as often now but once in a while it's fun! I've been coming here for years, it's my favorite spot in the area to have a light lunch. The last time we were there we ordered the tomato basil soup per usual and truffle Parmesan fries to share. The service here can sometimes be fast or a bit slow, but they make up for it when it's been slow. There is seating inside and outside on the balcony which is nice. read more

Located on the top level of Nordstrom at the Westfield UTC Mall, Bazille is a pleasant rest spot for weary shoppers. It had the ambiance of an upscale bistro to go along with the bar. Outdoor seating was available on the balcony if you wanted fresh air but not a lot of sun exposure during the daytime. I sat at a round table across from the bar and brought my laptop to do some work. They do close early at 7 pm every day except for Sunday which has a closing time of 6 pm. Soups, starters, salads, pizzas, sandwiches, and entrees spanned the one-page main menu. A separate smaller page listed four featured beverages, two chef's features, and dessert which was a strawberry shortcake. One of the chef's features was my selection. It was a Fresh Berry Salad made up of baby greens, seasonal berries, spiced candied almonds, goat cheese, and dried strawberries. Vanilla bean vinaigrette was the suggested dressing, however I opted for a cup of honey mustard dressing on the side. At $17.50, it was a bit pricey for a normal portion salad without a protein. If I had added one, then the cost would have been over $20 or even $30 if skirt steak was the pick. The charges were like dining at a nice hotel restaurant. That kind of made sense because Nordstrom is semi-upscale for a department store. The service from the bartender was good. I gave my mid-afternoon visit to Bazille a 3.5 star rating. read more

It's about a 4.5 for service here and it's very on par with the Nordstrom service that is common for this experience, the food was about a 3.5 star, but I rounded up again because of the service and it took a long time for our plates about seven of us to get our food. The appetizers came out quite quickly. I would say get the calamari like everyone says and get the brussels sprouts like others mentioned. We actually got the spinach dip. It was a little bit too thick and my coworkers got the skirt steak. They appreciated it, but it was a little too salty. I got the lemon chicken gnocchi and that was good. However, the pesto was very strong and overbearing with the saltines so overall again at 3.5 experience but really what set this place above all else is when you get the service with the food. See my pictures for all the food that we ordered because it was a lot and you know the environment. I would say it's pretty nice. Batter started out with a decent crunch but softened as it cooled. I didn't like the soft texture. I also didn't like the flavor of the ale batter. It distracted from the halibut. My favorite batter for high quality fish is at Sally's Seafood by the Bay where the batter is crunchy and simply seasoned with salt and pepper. My family decided to try Bazille during weekend shopping at Nordstrom UTC. This was our first time at Bazille. I asked waitress for recommendations. She suggested berry salad and braised beef sandwich . The salad was ok. The sandwich was extremely salty. When I brought it to the attention of the waitress she said that a lot of people complained about it, but we were not offered different choice of entree. No reimbursement was offered during payment completion. I do not recommend this restaurant. Save your money .There are plenty of choices near by. read more

It was a fun time, the server let us customize everything to our liking and the bartender kept us laughing and entertained. It does feel a little bit weird being right in the store and seeing other people shop. Food was great overall, it is on the saltier side be warned. My top picks are between the steak and halibut. It was laughable and ridiculous that he thought that was the answer. The food here is consistently well prepared. This location has many of the favorites I enjoy, such as the cilantro dressing salad with shrimp. They may have stopped making the seared scallops at all locations, which were fantastic. Hoping they bring it back. They have a decent selection of several standards beers on tap and wines by the glass as well. Stop by for a bit before you dive into shopping! I came here on a Thursday afternoon for lunch. There is both indoor and patio seating available. We were seated immediately, and our server greeted us quickly. She was very friendly and attentive throughout the meal. I started with the crab bisque, which was absolutely delicious. For my main course, I ordered the prosciutto and arugula pizza, which, unfortunately, was a big disappointment. It lacked flavor and was completely overwhelmed by the pesto sauce--it was more like a soggy pesto flatbread than a pizza. My friend had the pasta with meatballs, which they recently added to the menu, and it was outstanding--rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. A female manager stopped by to check on us while we were waiting for our bill. I mentioned how disappointed I was with the pizza, but all she did was offer a quick apology--no offer to replace the dish or make things right. I always love Bazille. It is located on the second floor of Nordstrom and has great views of the shopping area. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are friendly and service is fast. I went early at opening on a Sunday and had my choice of seating because no one was there. My husband ordered the salmon salad and I opted for the cilantro lime salad with shrimp with both being delicious. The total with tip was around $60. The resturant is beautiful. I've been coming to Nordstrom since I was 14 and I would have given them a higher rating but the service was terrible. The food was amazing but my whole experience at the store and the restaurant was not up to the par that I'm used too. It was my birthday and I just wanted to shop and eat good and the servers were literally so inconsiderate and awkward. They barely came by to see if we needed anything but checked on every other table repeatedly and even when she took our bill she just acted like we were inconveniencing her the entire time while they just talked amongst themselves. I loved my sandwich but I will not be coming back. My mom got the grilled cheese and she said her soup was cold and didn't even finish her meal so I'm not really sure I'll ever eat here again. read more

My prior visit was when Nordstrom was hosting their annual breakfast with Santa. Located on the second floor of Nordstrom UTC, it's a beautiful venue. Upscale, but yet casual. There is a small patio that overlooks the entrance of the Nordstrom entrance across from Arhaus. I opted to eat inside. My server was very friendly, he would check on me throughout my meal. For my lunch I opted to for the Heirloom and Burrata salad as my appetizer and the mushroom ravioli. I like my food on the not salty side but the heirloom burrata lacked a hit of sea salt on the burrata. As burrata is naturally very creamy and bland. The balsamic vinegar didn't offer any salt to complement the green pesto. The bread was also mixed into the plate like a salad. I like the idea but as a crouton they were too large. They needed to be cut smaller for my petite bites. My entree came out right after I finished the appetizer. I asked for sun-dried tomatoes and was told it would be included but it was solely roasted tomatoes. The pasta was fresh and there was a generous portion of 6 raviolis on a bed of Parmesan cream. Overall, very heavy for my palette but that's just how it is with cream pasta. I would not mind coming back another time when I'm shopping to get some tomato basil soup. read more

The cobb salad is one of my go tos but I enjoyed it with cauliflower this time. I preferred this topping over the usual chicken which can be hit or miss. It was delicious! I prefer it with light dressing and it was perfect. For the pizza, I ordered a mushroom and borsin cheese special that was amazing!! One of my favorite places to eat at UTC! The patio has a beautiful view of the mall. The menu has all the Nordstrom cafe staples plus a few specials. My wife and I are regular customers of Bazille; we love eating there and the tremendous food and the Nordstrom-standard of service for which they are known. We recently ate there on 2-Jan-24 for an early dinner and it was a really disappointing. We were seated and I asked if there were specials as we did not receive the menu that normally lists special for the month. We were told there were no specials because it was the beginning of the month. So, okay. I really wanted beef and saw that the hamburger was available during their Happy Hour with an iced tea and my wife ordered her normal salmon with couscous and as normal and a bottle of sparkling water. She instructs the waiter that they do not over-cook the salmon. I also asked for a glass of their CSM Mimi Cab before dinner. The cab never shows up and when they deliver the meal, I remind our waiter, Christopher, that the wine never showed up, he apologizes and asks if I still want the wine - no - I asked for it before dinner. Then as we are eating, the hostess sits a couple in the booth directly in front of us and proceeds to tell them that as part of their steak offering, they have a ribeye steak. My wife and I look at each other and ask each other, "WHY were we not told of that open!" As I sated above, I wanted beef. Really disappointed. The restaurant was not busy on that day and our waiter should have been more attentive, more focused on sharing the options and follow-up. read more

Then we split a cauliflower crust pizza. We tried the shrimp scampi pizza. The best thing I can say is that it was fast. There were no more than 2 small pieces of shrimp per slice of pie. This was very disappointing. For a scampi pie, the flavor of garlic was lacking. The service was very good, so there are no complaints there. You've been hanging out in a mall for a couple hours. There's nothing you want to buy. Your legs are tired, and fingers are cramped from scrolling your phone. Batteries are almost out anyway. But you know your partner hasn't walked through all the aisles in every single store despite the fact that there's absolutely nothing s/he needs to make his/her life materially better. Now, you're in Nordstrom. WTH - over $1000 for a pair of red bottomed shoes that there's no way they could be comfortable to wear for more than 10 seconds. At least everything is neatly organized. The temperature is good. You're dizzy, maybe even famished...and then you see the oasis that is Bazille. I mean, this is a restaurant in a department store...what more can you ask for? The restaurant is comfortable, the service good, prices are reasonable (for something in Nordstrom), and the food is very acceptable! Doesn't get 5 stars because it's not something that totally wows, but I definitely enjoy it when I'm here. The crab avocado salad was good. Creamy avocado blends well with the crab meat, contrasting nicely with the crunchy veggies. And the sweet, savory, tangy dressing mixed everything in very nicely. Size wise, smaller than expected but the taste made up for it. A good "B+" showing. The spicy shrimp pomodoro had wonderfully plump, sweet, fresh tasting shrimp. If this dish was just for the shrimp, I'd give it an "A." But the pasta and the sauce were the weaker links. Despite loving tomatoey, spicy sauces, this one simply overpowered everything, including the pasta which were overcooked to my liking. It wasn't bad, just that the overall dish didn't do justice to the shrimp. A "B-" for this dish. Bazille is a great place to chill & relax.
