Very bad service. The appetizers came out with the main dish for the most part and some appetizers came out after the main dish. The waitress forgot to bring water twice and when we asked the second time she said to follow her up to the bar - really??!! Looked on Yelp for a restaurant in Sitka while onshore from one of the cruise ships. We have 4 kids and the place was fun, upbeat and casual. The food was fantastic! We ordered the burger special, a Pub salad and the blue cheese fries. All was really good and service was attentive and welcoming. read more

I was in Sitka Ak on a fishing trip in the middle of July and ask the deckhand on our boat where was the best place to get a burger in town. He instantly said the Bayview Pub is the best. We went there and had the pub burgers and fries, I had a double, the best burger I can remember eating, and I have eaten a lot of burgers from a lot of different places, but this was the best. I didn't put any condiments on it, didn't need it. It was very juicy and flavorful on its own with lettuce and tomato. The fries where excellent also, service was good and prompt even though they were very busy that Saturday night. Highly recommend this place if you are in Sitka. read more

Excellent. We had fish and chips (rock fish) ask for the fry sauce. When we showed up the owner was chatting it up and bussing tables. Pretty funny finding all the CO beers on tap in AK. Above expectations for a bar in a small city like Sitka. Tried the wings and fish tacos, were pretty decent. Thursday nights are wing nights ($.50/wing). Good atmosphere, good view, a lot of TVs, 2 pool tables, and shuffleboard. Beer selection was not too bad. Expect to pay roughly $12-17 per plate. Although this is mostly a bar, and we weren't sure about taking a 1 year old in for dinner, we were surprised at what a good experience we had. The noise level was pretty high, but it was to be expected on a Friday night. The waiter was fantastic!!! He brought the little guy's food pronto and checked in on us several times. Dark, quiet on a Sunday night, burger tasted ok but not great, salad was good without the blue cheese, but not great. Ask the server for beers available and suggestions. Found the only table with an AC outlet for our electronic devices. This place probably would have been very busy, noisy, loud on a Saturday night. This place hands down amazing! From the food to the wait staff we couldn't have been more pleased! Morgan was one of the coolest bartenders ever. She was so personable and friendly. If I lived here we would be friends :) besides the incredible hospitality, the food was killer. We were a group of 5 guys on a fishing adventure. We ate at the Pub several times and found the food to be very good and the atmosphere very comfortable. Plus, it has a great location right downtown with a magnificent view of the harbor. read more

This is the first place we came in Sitka to eat. The waitress was great, the food is excellent, and the atmosphere is fun. We both had Halibut, my husband had a fried halibut burger, it was absolutely fantastic- the fish was flaky, crisp, and hot. I had the grilled halibut, it was a little spicy for me- but my husband loved it. We also had fried pickle spears and salad to start and they were both great! Typical American "pub" serves ice-cold beer, pricey appetizers and general American fare. Service is "iffy". House-made chicken strips were basically pieces of frozen chicken dipped in batter and fried. Coating fell off as I tried to cut them into bite-size pieces and it was tasteless. The food was good, but the waitress we had was horrible! Right when we arrived the waitress acted as if she did not want to serve us. It took her forever to bring us menu's and she rarely even checked on us. She made it obvious that we annoyed her, which we had no idea why. When she took our order she didn't even write things down. I mean, I know that some waiters do that, so I let it go, BUT THEN our order was all incorrect. Then I asked the waitress a question and she half answered it and just walked away annoyed. The only time she was nice was when she was checking us out. Maybe expecting a nice tip? Anyways, turns out once we left her and the other waitresses were talking about us to the table next to us. Enjoyed the view on a rainy lunchtime in Sitka. There was an adult and juvenile Eagle lazily circling and they were fun to watch through the big windows. Service was good, and the food was reasonable if nothing special for pub food. My burger was overcooked - there was no difference in the "doneness" of any of the burgers even though they were ordered for different temperatures - but the pretzel roll was great. Best of all were the fries - crispy, salty, and delicious! Prices are what you'd expect in Alaska. read more

YELLED AT AND SHOVED BY OWNER FROZEN PATTIES FAKE CHEESE PRE COOKED BACON My husband and I went out for my birthday for burgers and pool, it was the first time going back to the pub after being bought by a new owner. The food was terrible compared to the burgers we use to love getting there. The patties were frozen and reheated, comparable to the size and thinness of a small McDonald's patty. Not what you would expect when each burger is $20. They were about 2 1/2"wide and 1/4" thick. The bacon was obviously pre cooked and reheated for it didn't have any flavor at all. Lettuce was brown, shredded, and mushy. Then the menu choices for cheese were cheddar, provolone, Swiss, or pepper jack. We had received fake cheese after ordering cheddar. When our server came back we asked her if the burgers were usually this small and if they were frozen patties and she said yes. And then we asked why they were trying to pass of fake cheese as cheddar. Ten minutes later a man who was staggering and slurring came out and started attacking a group of ten men sitting next to us thinking it was them who asked about their food. Considering the group hadn't even received their food yet they started making fun of the guy... he looked like a real IDIOT! Then we spoke up saying it was us with the complaint. He immediately shoved us to the side grabbed our food and got face to face with husband and yelled at us to get out and never to come back while storming away cursing the whole time all the way through the restaurant. I don't know what drugs this guy was on or how much he had drank by 5 in the evening or if he was just embarrassed for yelling at the wrong table, but it was on the verge of psychopath. After embarrassing us and screaming at us not to pay he doesn't want our service we still left the full amount of the bill ( $60 for two burgers, one coke, and one beer) to be left as a tip for the servers who where great, but knowing this psychopath he probably pocketed the money. The staff was extremely apologetic and very sincere and that he does that all the time to customers. We were thinking this guy was a cook but they told us he was the owner, which surprised us greatly. After he stormed out ( probably to take a few more shots!) his wife came stomping out. We were warned by people sitting at the bar that she was even more crazy than him and to watch out. As we left they stood at the door still cursing and hulking out all while in front of children, families, and customers dinning. All things considered it was very funny and entertaining and we laughed ourselves happily out of there. I really miss the old pub and the old owners who were a great contribution to the community. In a small town you cant treat locals that way unless you want your business to fail. WORST FOOD IN TOWN!!! read more

First the good: The pub has a great atmosphere. Its lively, they have pool tables and dart boards. It is a fun place to be. The bad: Food is just ok. Generally just you typical burgers and fries. The service could be better. It takes forever to get your drinks, let alone your food. The ugly: The PRICES. It is incredibly overpriced, especially the drinks. Nine dollars for a glass of wine? Hell no. As for the food, too expensive for what you get. Would I recommend the pub? If you want to hang out and drink some water... sure. read more

I stopped here mainly because it was a pub and near where my cruise dropped me off. I didn't expect much. I was blown away! They have a lot on tap, and the food was very good, but it was the customer service which really surprised me. Me and my wife's water was never half full, because someone always was nearby filling up waters. The waiter was very nice and attentive. I've had worse service at 5 star places. Great views of the harbor, centrally located, good amount on tap, fantastic service and delicious food. If I'm ever back in Sitka, I'll come here again. read more
