CVS is nostalgic to me, and has always been my pharmacy/store of choice going back to when I was young. It's more than just a drug store; we'd buy our school supplies, toiletries, holiday candy, Hallmark cards and cosmetics. Now, I'll drive a farther distance out of my way to go to CVS vs another pharmacy. This location is no different and I'm here at least once a week... It's homey with the carpeted floors and compact shelves, overflowing with merchandise. It's always the same pleasant staff that greet you warmly with an eagerness to assist. The music is always pleasant, whether it's holiday music in December or oldies the rest of the year. And you can actually hear it instead of carts on tiled floors like in other stores! The self- checkout is a huge benefit, even if it is overly sensitive and you usually need a staff member to assist each time-- luckily they're quick to help! The 1-hour photo center is more like a 5-minute photo center! Yes, prices are higher than the grocery store.... but there's always so many coupons and promos in the app, not to mention the frequent 20-30% coupons that you receive, plus cash back. If you plan well, in the end, it'll be cheaper here

My dog suffers from seizures And and also suffers from a collapsing trachea which causes her to cough. Both of these conditions are treated with medicine three times a day that have to be filled by a compounding pharmacy. On Tuesday the 15th I reached out to the vet for a refill on my dogs SEIZURE medicine. They called in her prescription to the pharmacy. They usually tell me it will be 24 hours so I waited until the 17th and went in to try and pick it up. Told them I was there for her seizure medicine, they explained to me they didn't have anything ready for her. The woman working the front went to the back and got the owner who proceeded to tell me it was too early to fill, that prescription was filled on the 31st and they can't fill this until the 25th at the earliest... while they are telling me this I'm calling my vet because they are telling me they never received the message from the vet and want a copy of the prescription faxed over. My vet is telling me what they are saying makes 0 sense because her seizure medicine is not a controlled substance and the vet gave the prescription so they should fill. Whatever I leave and the vet said they faxed over the Prescription. The vet and I are both thinking maybe it's some sort of new policy or something. I get home and look at her bottles and they of course, the pharmacy, made a mistake and were looking at her cough medicine and the date they gave us is the date her cough medicine was last filled and that's why they wouldn't fill it. So I call the next morning and speak to THE SAME WOMAN who ADMITTED she made a mistake and was looking at the wrong medicine! They tell me they still haven't received the fax, because their fax machine is having issues... so I once again have to call the vet and they get the prescription filled finally. You can see in my call log the multiple calls to the vet and pharmacy. The missed call also had a voicemail attached where they call to tell me her seizure medicine is ready for pick up! Fast forward to yesterday..... my dogs cough medicine is due for refill.... The owner straight up accuses me trying to get her medicine filled too many times in one month after HIS mistake.... I have all the evidence proving it was his mistake. He clearly should be able to go into his computer system and look and see I picked up her SEIZURE medicine on 08/18 but he just repeatedly kept accusing me of trying to pick up a controlled substance too many times in a month even though it was their mistake and I never tried to fill this medicine other than when it was prescribed. He was even giving me incorrect dates. I understand being cautious but to accuse someone when you made the mistake and to lie to my face and tell me your computer system says I picked up the cough medicine and that you don't have a blonde with glasses that works there is absurd (she's the one who admitted to me she made the mistake the first time). I will never step foot in that place again. I have the best vet ever who would never prescribe me more medicine than what my dog needs either, so I wouldn't even get this script twice in a month. I'm just absolutely disgusted with the way I was treated. You called me a liar and told me I was wrong. I have all the evidence to show he's a terrible business owner and should definitely treat his customers better. There's being cautious and then there's being a disorganized jerk.

Gosh. This pharmacy is a throwback to a time gone by - in the best possible way!…read more I'm going to be honest, the storefront is not impressive. It's in a very small strip mall on busy Atwood Ave next to an Italian deli. But walk inside and it's a neat and clean small full service pharmacy with the things you NEED for your health care needs. Rubbing alcohol, bandaids, various cold remedies and more. Some folks of a certain age may not remember this, but you actually had to go to a DRUG STORE to buy these things. So this is that drug store from your grandparent's days. They also have the old school pharmacy kitsch-sun catchers and little trinkets at the counter. But onto the good stuff -the staff. They are kind, friendly and professional. An absolute delight! They clearly had a steady flow of senior customers who are regulars and they took the time to catch up with all of them. This place is all about service. So please don't come here if you're looking for a big box, in and out, make no eye contact transaction. DO come here if you want someone to connect with you, chat up a fellow customer in line and ask about your day - and have the staff greet you by first name, answer your questions thoroughly and apply the proper insurance discounts for you. Parking is tight but easy in and out with a traffic light adjacent to the parking lot.

You normally refer to them as your pharmacist but I can assure you ot at Atwood they will be your Friends! They are not only helpful they actually care about you. Can you say that at any other pharmacy? Probably not. They're in Johnston approximately 7 miles or so from my house but I'd rather drive there than deal with another cvs or Walgreens. However they do deliver. Switch to Atwood and you'll become part of the family too! I'll never go anywhere else!!

I called multiple times throughout the day and no one answered the phone. When I finally showed up in person, I was told the medication wasn't ready and that the staff was going on break. I explained that my daughter is an infant, actively struggling with RSV, and that this medication is medically necessary -- not optional. The pharmacist, Kim, still refused to fill it at that time and told me they would handle it after their break. This level of disregard for an infant with a serious respiratory illness is unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. Delaying critical medication for a sick baby is dangerous. If anything were to happen to my child due to this delay, that responsibility would fall on this pharmacy's lack of urgency and care.

She carefully takes her medication for panic attacks and agoraphobia, and discusses her medication with her DOCTOR, she's never increased her dose, which she can, she could double her prescription if she wanted. So, why is it when we call the pharmacy, they treat us like addicts? Pompous pharmacist/doctor that tries to mansplain to two people smarter than him, tells us "I got my math wrong" when he said she's going to have to wait a full month without medication. Then the genius while working on debunking Einstein's theories, realized his math was wrong, again, making things better, telling my wife it will be about two week. Ok, so long story short, we called the doctor, again, like we do every time we need to get a monthly prescription. And the prescription was ready in an hour. They wouldn't offer her anything at all to bridge the gap, to the doctor's astonishment and disappointment. Not even a single pill to get through the day. This pharmacy is atrocious. You're not the police. You can't do math. You're going to kill someone with your stupidity, but stand on your morals people. You can't just do the job without aggrandizing yourself? Stop trying to act smart, my two year old gets her math right, so why don't you go back to basics. Try customer service and support, you're selling pills, you're the drug dealer. Don't act like I'm some custy when I come in like I need to fiend over my daily medication. Get a life buddy, get laid, quit your job, get a job that doesn't require math or customer service. This rating is actually .5 stars. For the 1/10 times they just did the bare minimum. We're finally switching pharmacies. Peace
