In my house, we don't just say, "I'm going to the store/pharmacy", we say, "I'm going to CVS". It's become a proprietary eponym for myself and my kids. CVS is nostalgic to me, and has always been my pharmacy/store of choice going back to when I was young. It's more than just a drug store; we'd buy our school supplies, toiletries, holiday candy, Hallmark cards and cosmetics. Now, I'll drive a farther distance out of my way to go to CVS vs another pharmacy. This location is no different and I'm here at least once a week... It's homey with the carpeted floors and compact shelves, overflowing with merchandise. It's always the same pleasant staff that greet you warmly with an eagerness to assist. The music is always pleasant, whether it's holiday music in December or oldies the rest of the year. And you can actually hear it instead of carts on tiled floors like in other stores! The self- checkout is a huge benefit, even if it is overly sensitive and you usually need a staff member to assist each time-- luckily they're quick to help! The 1-hour photo center is more like a 5-minute photo center! Yes, prices are higher than the grocery store.... but there's always so many coupons and promos in the app, not to mention the frequent 20-30% coupons that you receive, plus cash back. I have been faithful...for years...to CVS. As I was reading my kids their bed time story, I was thinking...why...why CVS for so very long? Wall-to-wall carpet. Seems odd but that is the answer, friend. Every CVS that I walk into is carpeted. And quiet. And soothing. Odd because I can't stand wall-to-wall in my own home. Our hardwoods are torn to shreds but I will not staple down the poly fibers. But I think about other pharmacies and they all pretty much have the shiny tile squares that clickety-clack when you walk on them. Never knowing when they've been last polished, you gotta be careful your leather botton kicks don't slip. But CVS? No worries. Your heels are safely cradled in the soft carpet caress. And shiny tile squares remind me of cafeterias and hospitals...and...um...not so soothing thoughts. I especially like this location. They have a drive-up pharmacy and a tricked out photo lab with multiple scanners and one hour photo service. The store is always well-stocked, clean and neat. The in-store staff is terrific both at the front and at the pharmacy. Up front, they launch a code red type announcement if there are more than two people in line. Yeah - you know my time is valuable. Nice. The pharmacy staff churns out the prescriptions in record time and the actual pharmacist will walk out to help out with medicinal inquiries. The pharmacy calls now get routed to a call center, not the actual pharmacy. This annoys me because sometimes I want to talk to one of the pharmacists that I know. I waited in line for 12 minutes at the pharmacy. When I make it to the front, the young woman apologized with a big smile on her face telling me she doesn't have a draw today. I asked her if she wouldn't mind walking over to the other cash register and complete my transaction because I've waited in line for 12 minutes. She stated, "I'm sorry, I can't do that. So of course, I asked, "you want me to go wait in another 10 minute line?" Her reply was, " yes, can I help who's next." It's not as if I waited in the wrong line. Drugs and doctors CVS was started in Lowell, MA in 1963 and quickly spread through MA, RI and then all of New England. There are now over 7,600 CVSs scattered about the country which makes CVS the second only to Walgeen's in the number of stores of this type. Most CVSs are pretty similar. Some are larger, some are smaller, some are nicer and others are scruffier. Most, but not all have pharmacies, and some but not all are conveniently open 24 hours a day. This particular CVS is nice, always clean and neat and the staff are usually pretty polite. It tends to be very seasonal with lots of candy and toys appearing for each and every holiday and has a small selection of frozen and dairy type things. It's open 24/7 which is always nice but what really makes this CVS stand out is the pharmacy. I had a major problem with a certain drug prescription that a doctor wrote it incorrectly. I absolutely needed the drug or very bad things would have happened to me but for some reason the doctor was impossible to reach. Instead of just shrugging their shoulders and telling me it was my problem, the people working in the pharmacy kept trying and doing everything they could to resolve the problem. It must of been a major pain in the arse for them but they never complained and through their perseverance and dedication finally got the prescription corrected and I got the right meds and didn't end up croaking. Many CVSs are similar but it's the people that make them special. At least in the pharmacy the people showed exceptional professionalism, dedication and the ability to get things done. And that certainly makes this particular CVS very, very special. read more

I went to the Post Rd Warwick location to pick up my mom's Eliquis prescription refill, which was submitted the day before. Was told the store was out of it and wouldn't have a shipment until Tues. This was on a Sunday & next day was Columbus Day. I asked the woman if she could find out if any other locations nearby might have it. She said she didn't think so, that all locations were out. She asked a couple of other people, came back and said they were out and so were other locations. Then she asked a young woman that looked like she just graduated high school, who was supposed to be a pharmacist, if all the nearby locations were out and she responded, "We got a couple of boxes last week, but they went fast" and then looked at me like she was waiting to see if I would accept that response. Ok, that's not what you were asked. So basically, it was you're SOL cuz we're not going out of our way to get the script filled elsewhere. I left the store, called the nearest location in Meadowbrook, no one answered the phone. Called another location in Cranston, they had it and they called Post Rd to have the script transferred and then filled it. Really? The person, WHO WORKS AT THE PHARMACY COUNTER, couldn't be bothered to check the system or call another location to see who else might have it, so I had to do that? read more

Let me take a moment to tell you a story about this CVS. Last Christmas Eve my wallet was stolen, before coming to this conclusion I thought I may have dropped it in or outside of this CVS location. Not only did the staff at this CVS look for my wallet they also let me review their security film to show that I placed the wallet back in my purse before I left. Even though they couldn't get my wallet back they were more helpful than even I expected. Story told I go here often, the drive through pharmacy is convenient and the store is clean, well stocked and I normally get in and out of there with whatever I need. read more

I am not one to post a bad review but I felt like I just had to.. it's been multiple times that I shop at the CVS and I used to love it. Now it seems that all the staff hate to be there, they are rude especially the one younger girl must be a keyholder or a manager. She thinks she's on top of the world because she is beyond rude every time I go in. I just can't take it. If you don't like your job quit. read more

This CVS is quite large. They have got you covered for your basic pharmacy needs. However, I was appalled to find that this CVS does not sell CHEESE! I stopped in with a colleague for some snacks and while we were able to get all the trail mix, nuts and dried fruit we desired, they were seriously lacking in the dairy department. Not a single piece of string cheese or a single serving of cheddar. What what? Not sure if this is just a Rhode Island thing... the CVSs in Boston have cheese all the time. Weird. read more

I spend way too many hours at this CVS, but they often make it a pleasant experience. From makeup to toiletries to snacks and prescriptions, I seem to like to give them my money! This location is convenient and a pleasant change from the traffic of Apponaug and Route 2. I have been a loyal customer to this particular CVS for YEARS! It's in a convenient location. It is your typical CVS design wise, but the staff is always friendly and I am a big fan of Mona, the Pharmacist. She remembers everyone's name. If she hasn't memorized your name yet, give her time, she will. She is always very helpful and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. This service does not go unnoticed! They now offer text messaging for refills on prescriptions which I am looking forward to trying. Also, they have the drive-up pharmacy which is helpful for those that are too ill to bother going into the pharmacy, physically unable to, or just having a lazy day! :D read more

It's a CVS that's really close to my house. The store is great but the pharmacy is terrible. Pharmacy Staff is not helpful and rude. I actually transferred all my rx to another city CVS because of how rude staff in pharmacy is. However, the front end staff have always been pleasant and helpful. read more

I have gone here for years, but I'm absolutely done with this location. The pharmacy is horrible. Each time I come I have had to wait for a minimum of 10 minutes, with my average visit being 45 for an issue. My son has had 4 prescriptions at this same location within the past 4 months. Every time I have come, I'm told my son's prescription isn't on file and they ask if I've been here before. Nothing has changed, how does his insurance information continuously disappear? Then I have to wait for a different employee to update his information, and wait in line again. It just doesn't make sense. I've never been offered an apology for the issue or even a "thank you for being patient." I'm off to another pharmacy read more

Always a problem at the pharmacy ...always. No one has a clue they are even alive.....you ask them a question and they seam astonished that they are expected to answer questions. That was one of the things I loved about the CVS near my old house....they always were able to help me with advise about what I could take with what and what I could not. They never have the items ready that are on auto refill. They also do not let you know when there are no more refills on your script...so you go to pick up your script and not only is it not ready they then inform you upon arrival that there are no more refills and they have to wait for a doctor to write another script....this can be problematic when you can have lift threatening side effects without taking your meds and its a FRIDAY The Cranston CVS always called to let me know when a new script was needed to avoid these disasters.... Other then the pharmacy the main staff is always friendly and more then helpful read more
