The first picture is what I asked for, the rest are what I got. I tried to be nice, and hold myself together the whole time, but I will never ever be back, nor will my friend. For starters just for my fill it was $50, and my friends was $80! For very simple designs. Secondly, she cut me, yanked my arm, told me it was my fault I scuffed my nail when the lady is aggressively pulling me every which way. How is that my fault? She gave me "advice" on how I should hold my hand and I just was in shock. The nails look nothing like I asked for. I wanted to keep the oval shape but everything is big and bulky, color everywhere. I didn't want to be rude to the people so I bit the money and left. You can find better business somewhere else for cheaper. Horrible, abusive place. My daughter went here and got cut 5 times, the nails were crooked and she was yelled at her and yanked her arm. I am seriously thinking about filing charges. DO NOT go here. They are really mean people. I called to try to get a refund. I explained the situation and here is the response I got: No refund! Clunk. They hung up on me. This place is very just awful. I hate it when they play the "I don't understand" card, which they did. Wish I would have read the reviews prior to sending her here. The staff are accommodating to healthcare schedules. They make my nails inland feet feel great every visit. Friendly and knowledgeable.

Short Story -- Some employees definitely need to be recertified as nail technicians. Their practices were very damaging and unsanitary. Long Story -- I got an acrylic set put on for my graduation and vacation. While the design I chose looked great, the acrylics themselves were put on horribly. I think too much glue was used, because the nails pointed upwards instead of lying flat on my nail bed. Think pride rock from the Lion King -- that's exactly what they looked like... Not only did this make the nails look ugly, but it also left a lot of space in between my nail bed and the acrylic. This is can lead to bacteria build up and possible infections. If I had the time, I would have had them removed immediately. Unfortunately, by the time my nails were finished, the salon was closed and my graduation ceremony was the next morning. I kept getting major food and dirt build up in between my nails and the acrylic, so I had them taken off as soon as I got home from vacation (2 weeks after I got them on) ... This was not due to improper hygiene, but because of how the acrylics were put on. The man who removed the acrylics (I think the owner?) did not soak and file down the acrylics, but instead just ripped them off. Only one of my fingers were soaked/filed because he physically couldn't rip it off. While my nail was soaking, he started cleaning and trimming his own nails right in front of me and then tried to use the same clippers on me without sanitizing them! I wish I was making this up lol. While the people who did my nails were kind and courteous, I really think their nail tech licensure needs to be reevaluated... Considering how concerning their practices were plus their no refund policy, I wouldn't recommend coming here. read more

Terrible customer service. I walked in at 10:57 a.m. for an 11 a.m. pedicure appointment. 3 women, without appointments, walked in alongside me, but Baytowne made me wait. They didn't say we'll be with you in just a minute, have a seat... nothing at all after I informed them that I was there for my 11 a.m. appointment. I had already stopped getting my nails done at Baytowne because they will undoubtedly mess the shape up, cut me, etc. I continued to get pedicures done though because it was a different experience, yet the overall customer service experience continued to be less than ideal. From the get-go, as soon as I walked in got dirty looks from almost all of the employees. I then waited 40 minutes just to get an eyebrow waxing, and walked out before I even got the service. There was even one person walking around not working on anything or anybody. Not sure if there's only one person who can do eyebrows, but honestly it's not even that difficult of a task and it only takes a couple minutes to do. The worker clearly saw that I was getting irritated with waiting so long but still did not offer to even seat me at the waxing station. Got a manicure at the beginning of October for my best friends wedding and the shellac lasted over a month before it started to chip! When I went, all of my friends bridesmaids, her mother, and her mother-in-law all came with. There was 10 of us. The staff was very helpful in getting us in. This was my first time coming to this location because I try my best to avoid anything close to Prospect if I can. Just too much traffic and always busy at every shop. The only down side was one of the women I was with wanted a pedicure as well and she mentioned it but we don't think the gentleman heard her so he never got her back to get one. She couldn't stay long because she needed to get back to her newborn who her mother was watching. The girl doing my nails didn't talk much but I didn't mind. Overall I'd say I'd return. read more

He asked if he could sit in the massage chairs as I got my nails done. Staff said it was okay. Later on, lady manager comes and yells at staff in a different language and made it very uncomfortable for the both of us. Let me remind you that we were the only customers in the shop , so we didn't think it would be an issue. I asked the girl who was doing my nails if there was an issue. She proceeded to tell me that the manager is rude and doesn't think people should sit in the massage chair if they aren't getting anything done. I told my significant other about the issue and he got up. At this point , the manager is still disrespectful towards us and becoming more and more passive aggressive. They always do a fantastic job on my nails. I get shellac and a round tip. Smooth, even coats. They also will put more coats on if your nails are thin to help avoid them from breaking. Staff is always pleasant. Absolutely horrid treatment. I have lymphedema which causes swelling, but no toxic issues. I've used another nail salon for the past few years with no issue, but they recently changed hands so I decided to check in here. Huge mistake. Rude, gawking treatment. Nasty owner barking at me about being sick. Looking at a toes that has slight swelling and screaming "see that! See that!" Then "I not responsible!" Disappointed! I got a pink and white manicure two weeks ago, a male had done them. He did a wonderful job. When I had went back recently, I did not recieve the same treatment. Which in my opinion, I figured it would be better since they werent as busy as the previous time. It started with being told three different prices, from what I was told on the phone. The prices kept changing. In my opinion they should have set prices listed on a board so their clients dont feel as if they are getting cheated and being judged. The lady seemed as if she was in a rush and disgusted with me, as she was jumping from client to client. Not to mention ON HER PHONE.. A FEW TIMES! Uncalled for! I believe if you have a business and are getting paid over $30 an hour (what client pays is put in their personal draw and not into a register, which leads me to believe thats their personal pocket change..) I say that because the first time I had went, and many times before in the past seven years a register is used every so often. Overall I had three ladies do my nails. (I could see if they were busy, but as I said they definitely were not.) I believe one employee should stay with their well paying and well tipping client the entire time, from start to finish, or else..who deserves the tip.. Confusing! Not to mention my nails are uneven, too short, and my thumb nail is so sore! I really wish I wasn't so disappointed in the visit because before hand is was my number one! I can go on and on about my horrible experience here today! Very verrrry unprofessional. My nails was nothing like what i asked for. They are so uneven and lumpy. My nails are wide and very thick! I asked for a certain type of set and she kept insisting "ITS TOO HIGH ITS VERY EXPENSIVE" as if she knew how much money i had in my pocket. Come to find out they didn't carry the powder instead of just saying that she made it seem as if i couldn't afford it. Would never recommend this salon to anyone. I should have turned around and walked out when I saw the carpeting. The salon does not appear clean. The tech was not personable at all , rushed way too fast and didn't ask my opinion on what I wanted. She cut my nails back too short- I said I wanted them filed back a LITTLE and she used clippers and trimmed them the length she wanted instead of asking me. I wanted a painted design on two of the nails and again SHE picked the colors and placement without asking what I wanted. She do the filing and shaping too fast and the edges of several nails are bumpy and uneven. I would never go back. read more

They had no price menu so when we asked how much it would be, they seemed annoyed... then we asked to sit next to each other and they said we couldn't. The salon was empty so I did not get why we couldn't but ok I agreed and sat away from my mom, during the acrylic application it was very sloppy then she yelled at me for not drying my hands enough. My mom regularly goes here and has brought me along a few times. I usually only get my toes done, and every time they turn out great and I love them. Their service is great and everyone is so kind. However, the two times I got acrylics done, they have been absolute crap. The lady who did them usually does a great job on my mom's shellac, but she absolutely rushed mine and did not seem to care what they looked like. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and was specific, but they turned out awful and I am very upset. The skin around my nails was not tended to and she ripped apart my cuticles. She filed the nails down too short and made them pointy when I asked for round. The first two pictures are of my nails, the third is the picture I showed her for what I wanted. Suffice to say, I am disappointed and will not go back for acrylics. I will for a pedicure, but never my fingernails again. read more

Worst experience ever. My mom and I arrived at the salon at 6:15 pm. We both were there for a pedicure. There were three other people having pedicures done when we arrived. We were told to go to seats 4 & 5...we get over there and are put in different seats which was fine. The lady that started working on my mom was talking on her cell phone on speaker when she sat down to start on my mom. She was so busy on the phone she didn't even hear my mom trying to get her attention. Then when the lady finally (at least 30 minutes later, no apology for the wait) came over to start working on my toes after she takes the polish off, she didn't ask if I wanted my nails trimmed and wasn't going to trim them until I asked her to. Then she jammed one of the metal things they use to clean around and under your nails way down in under the side of my big toe soooo far and so hard that my nail started to bleed! The whole experience was very unpleasant and the woman were extremely rude! I will never go back! read more

I wish I could give this nail salon negative stars. The reasons: 1. I had my manicurist jump between 2 other people and me while I sat soaking for 25 minutes. 2. The owner jumped in after I complained and proceeded to use a utensil FROM THE TABLE NEXT TO MINE that was being used on another client. Disgusting. 3. The owner CUT ME while she was trimming my nails. I bled. 4. She then blamed me because I wanted my nails short. I had asked her to use a file, but she refused and used the sharp clippers instead. 5. She offered to finish the job even though I was visibly upset and when I asked if she was going to charge me, she said yes! 6. She blamed the issue she was having with my nails (removing the polish) by saying, "Honey, salon who did this before, very bad, very bad." I took great pleasure in telling her that it was one of her employees at Baytowne Nails! She accused me of lying. I could go on and on about how unprofessional this place is. Had my first experience at Baytowne Nails today and I really enjoyed it. I called the day before to make an appointment and they were ready for me at exactly the time I requested. I would suggest vocalizing any specifications you have, but they are very nice and willing to listen if you take the initiative. For a small nail shop, its a great place. Gel was only $30 and they double checked that I liked the color and that it was done to my liking. Also told me that if anything happens to come back and they will fix it. Christina cleaned up my nails and Tri (pronounced Tree) did the painting. Both were extremely nice when I talked to them an initiated conversation. Honestly, give this place a chance. Baytowne nails used to be my go to place for a pedicure however the cleanliness has gone down hill. I have witnessed customers being put in the same pedicure bowl with out being cleaned thoroughly. I had recently came in here with a friend and my sister just a couple of weeks ago. Years ago, My sisters and I had gone here before my sister's wedding to get our nails done and it was a pleasant experience. That's not so anymore. My friend was getting a full set of acrylics done, but myself and sister were simply getting polish. My sister and I were rushed through and the lady didn't even ask us to wash our hands, didn't have us soak, and barely shaped our nails. We could have done a better job at home. Plus, there was only one lady doing polish while there were TWO OTHER NAIL TECHS just standing around, my friend had to wait forever to get her acrylics done. Also, a few days later, my friend had gone in for a pedicure and THEY CUT HER TOE BADLY with a tool. DO NOT GET YOUR NAILS DONE HERE. It's not just a matter of them being rude and unorganized, they are unsafe and unclean. This place is a breeding ground for infection and just bad service. Will NOT be returning. read more

I've never even used Yelp before but I feel the need to express this. I got a full set with shellac on top. The gentleman that did my nails was very rude, jerked my arms a couple times apparently because I didn't have them in the right spot for HIS comfort. I finally had to tell him to stop a couple times because he was literally burning my nails. All nail techs should know you cannot hold the drill filer on the nail for that long or it'll burn. So 3 nails straight, literally had tears I had to clean from my eyes it hurt so bad. I'm 37 and have been getting my nails done for 23 years and have never hurt this bad. Usually the night of then my nails will be a little sore of course but 15 minutes after leaving all but my pinky fingers are hurting so extremely bad. I've literally got ice packs on my fingers right now. 3 ibuprofens and still no relief. Never will I go back there. The lady that did my daughter's was very nice but the polishing looks very messy, I'll have to redo that tomorrow when I'm able to move my fingers better. Killing me to Thorpe this but it's very important that I do...that bad. I apologize sincerely to have to make this complaint, I've NEVER had to before anywhere.
