The pedicures my husband and I got were good. The full set I got from the guy that sits in the front was awful! Worst experience yet and I've had some pretty awful experiences. This guys breath smells sooooo bad! You find yourself hoping he doesn't want to talk to you. Every time he opens his mouth you can see all of his rotten teeth and his breath matches! Horrid smell!!!! It also took three hours to get a full set because he kept stopping and helping people who arrived after me. He literally did two other ladies nails while doing mine and both of them left before me. He forgot everything I asked for. I asked for the pink and white gel powder. I got acrylic. I asked for a design. I got the tips painted. He gave me the silver stripe across it, asked if I wanted it and I said sure. Then he charged me $5 for a quick swoosh of silver glitter polish! By 5 days after my nails were falling off. I thought maybe he was having a bad day. I'll try one more time. Went in for a full after 7 days from getting the brand new full set. And he still did just as bad. It still took two hours for a fill!!!!!!!!! One nail fell off as her was filling it and he charged me $5 for a repair!!!! Seriously!? Your shoty work means I have to pay more?! I left and decided then and there to never return. 5 days later my nails were falling off again. So I picked them all off and had a green fungus growing on my nail from them!!! This has happened in the past to me but after many fills. I literally had these nails less than two weeks!!!! Appalling!!!! Diva nails is the best in town, don't waste your money here. read more

Best place in the uiuc area! I've only been here once but honestly it has been the best my nails have looked after getting them done. I got a full set of acrylics (with regular polish, it was $28) and they were able to help me right away without an appointment. They don't have a huge selection of colors other than the usual colors. I had Kim and she did an amazing job. I honestly don't have an complaints about my nails, which even with my regular salon back home I usually have at least one. She made them thin enough to where they look like my actual nails and spend a good amount of time while also being efficient to make sure they looked good. Would recommend!! read more

I received a gel manicure from Lovely Nails in mid-December. I came in on a weekday afternoon and had about a 15 minute wait - completely worth it for the quality service I received. All of the nail technicians were extremely friendly and did an exceptional job! My manicure took about 40-45 minutes and looked fantastic! My nail technician worked very quickly and cautiously. My nails were done fast, they were beautiful and they were done exactly as I asked. I will visit them again, definitely. The fact I had to wait 2 hours for the service I came for is ridiculous. They claim someone had an appointment but she didn't state she did and when the lady called her to the chair looked at me confused. So I'm thinking she just didn't want to do the manicure or whatever. Not only that they were "too busy" to stop service to run a customers card and had a customer do it herself. No words. I won't go there again. I could have gone somewhere else and been out of there in 30-45 minutes. You don't keep customers by making them wait hours, and the manicure wasn't even that good for the amount of time I waitied. read more

The only salon I have been going to for the last two years! The staff is beyond friendly and the salon is always clean. Not only do you leave with a wonderful set of nails, you leave with a smile on your face. As for some of the negative reviews, I just wanted to clarify: a gel set still mixes gel powder, perhaps your were wanting dip pot or shellac. Has the best price to service ratio in the CU area. Their services are basic, but I have never been disappointed. I have gotten my acrylics removed here, and they are very gentle and thorough. I wanted to get a gel mani and pedi and since my friend came here before and said it was good, I decided to give Lovely nails a try. I went here with my friends on a Tuesday afternoon at 4 to all get walk in gel manicure, a manicure, and a pedicure. My friend called ahead on Saturday to try and book the three of us an appointment to which they said on the phone that they don't take them. So we walk in to the nail salon, and is pretty busy. I walk in, telling the lady what we wanted to which she said ok. We pick our colors and two of us sit in the waiting area while the other goes and gets her toes done. The two of us are sitting here, waiting, and none of the ladies update us on when we would get our nails done or how long the wait is. We also saw multiple people (older than us) walk in "with appointments" to which the ladies let them bypass us. We waited for a WHOLE HOUR and still have not been taken. One of the ladies FINALLY finished and offered one of us to take a seat, and at that point, we decided that this place was not worth the time it took and said "no." We got no apology for the time we sat waiting and no acknowledgment when we left. This place has horrible management considering they said that they did not take appointments but now with other customers they do???? Waste of my time, do not recommend. There are plenty of other nail places that have much better service. read more

I went here for a gel set. DO NOT GO HERE. The lady lied straight to my face and gav e me an acrylic set I had done a lot of research before going in to make sure i got gel instead of acrylic because acrylic is more damaging to your nail bed. I was confused and confirmed with her 4 times but continued because i didn't want to make a scene thinking maybe i was wrong. Gel is a premade gel that is applied directly to the nail without mixing. Acrylic mixes a powder and a strong smelling liquid and is then applied to your nail. What she did to my nails was acrylic, and i'm angry that i not only paid more for the experience but that i was lied to my face about what was being done to my body. Who knows what else they lie about and how sanitary they are. read more

I am happy with how my nails look and I was very happy we didn't have to wait for service, as most nail places you wait 10-15 minutes. I only give three stars because they hardly interacted with us and they were speaking across the room with each other. I felt that was a little rude. It is understandable speaking to the person next to you but not across the room while you are with clients. Very minimalistic place and they do not use new tools every time. Had I known this I wouldn't have gone there. That's not very sanitary in my opinion. So yes my nails look great but because of the other factors I will not be returning. read more

Terrible experience!! I went on a Sunday morning, 10 minutes after they opened. The place was packed and instead of asking me to come back, the owner (I think) insisted it would only be a few minutes. While he was in the middle of doing the woman next to me's gel polish, he started to do my nails. I thought this was a big no no, but it only got worse. When I walked in I told him I wanted a full set of gels, with tips. He started to push my cuticles back and buff my nails while the woman's nails were curing. He then got out two more curing machines for me when i realized that he was trying to rush me out of there and just give me a gel manicure. I stopped him and told him that I wanted a full set. He became pushy and said that a he manicure was a better option. I stated I was going on vacation the next day and he insisted on only a gel manicure because he had already buffed and pushed back my cuticles which doesn't come with a full set. He finally gave in and started putting the tips on. They came out extremely uneven and he left them. I kept telling him to even them out and he just said they are even, they are perfect. He then forced me into getting a matching pedicure which did not actually match at all! In addition, the pedicure was just a terribly done job of painting my toes in a hurry to get me out of there. All in all, I paid 15$ for my toes to be all thick and chip within 24 hours, looking like crap for my trip, while my finger nails were uneven and did not match my toes. Finally, he charged me an extra 8$ to push my cuticles back, even though it was his mistake for not listening to what I wanted. He was pushy and overall unprofessional! Never again! I wish I could give a 0 star review, that's how bad my experience was. read more
