My spouse said a decade ago it was dirty with homeless people everywhere. What I like is there are two completely separate paths for the bikers than for the walkers and joggers. And few fruit cart vendors for those who prefer something for the commoners. Public parking and playground are available. Metered parking is available in the lot behind the beach, or at nearby Marina Green Park. Public outdoor shower stall is available. Overall, this is a good beach to spend the day with friend and family and your lover.

Located across the street from the beach are 6 pickleball courts (1 permanent, 5 non-permanent courts) where enthusiasts gather every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 8a-noon for recreational play. There are no challenge courts; all courts are open play. Simply put your paddle up and wait to be called upon. This is a great place to learn with a various levels of pickleballers. Parking can be found out front, on the street, or across the street at the beach. Fridays are street sweeping days, so be careful! For an optimal experience find Lani and tell them Lance sent you!

There is picnic area, benches over look the water, day camp, and walking trails. During summertime, it can be a hassle since it's pack of folks so come early if you want a spot. Parking is not free, it's a paid parking lot unless you want to walk 1-2-3 blocks from the neighborhood street parking. Overall nice park/beach and great for morning walk for sure.

There was a vendor walking around to sell floaties and we ended up getting a raft and the sticks for the raft for our kids. We did try to negotiate on the price but were only able to save a few bucks. I saw lifeguards walking back and forth often and it definitely made me feel safer to have the kids there. If you have young kids, I definitely say this is a great little beach to take your kiddos. Plenty of trash cans around and my kids gotta play with other kids. They didn't have to run super far with their bucket of water to make a sandcastle. Needless to say, we really liked this beach and definitely plan to come back. 2 thumbs up from this mom.
