I found Bay's on Yelp and saw the mixed reviews. I took a chance a regret it. $600 wasted. On the day of the job, an employee, Eric showed up as planned. Unfortunately, I was busy working and made the mistake to leave the check out for him before inspecting the work. Once I had time to come out to look, he was gone. He did not remove all of the white calcium from the tile and grout. I called the owner and sent him pics. He told me Eric would be back out to correct the problem. Eric arrived and began defending his work and arguing about the job he did. No customer service integrity at all. He tried telling both my wife and me how once the water is filled we just won't see the calcium left on the tile and grout. I guess a body shop should say, once we put a bumper cover on you won't see the damage underneath and call it fixed? After pointing out multiple areas he did not do correctly, he told us we did not know what we were talking about. I called back to the owner, who told me he was too busy to talk and to send him pictures. I sent him the pictures, which are included in this review. I did not hear back for several days and sent two follow up text messages. He finally responded with this: "Got the pictures I think your tile looks great not sure what you want from me." I told him we clearly have a difference of opinion on customer satisfaction and what looks good. He never responded, but cashed my check. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Total waste of money! He gets one star for showing up on time and getting part of the calcium off. Let the photos be my evidence. I plan to file in small claims court. I attempted to resolve this with him, but he has no interest in correcting the problem or refunding any of my money. It's a shame. Update: I feel the need to respond to the company owner's ridiculous rebuttal. The pool is only 13 years and the grout was cleaned once before professionally. We were very happy with the other company but their price doubled. We have consistently had the pool maintained by professional pool companies but have hard water. The pictures I posted are transparent evidence of the mediocre job (at best). He refused to make it right. That's what I paid for and but did not get. What an amazing job on our pool. We had no idea how bad it actually was because our pool tiles are very light in color, but our pool is about 24 years old and the tiles had NEVER been cleaned... so that gives you an idea of the build up of minerals that needed removal. Eric did an awesome job... the pool looks brand new. He also suggested acid washing the interior. We had staining from all the fallen ash last spring from the fires and since the tiles were looking brand new, we decided it was a good idea. Incredible job done with that as well... stains all gone! Not sure what we did wrong as customers. Did we leave the gate locked? Did the cats attack you? Was it too hot outside? Week after week our pool looked like it was barely cared for. Someone came, yes indeed. But the attention to actually cleaning the pool was absent. The couple times I saw someone come, chemicals were poured into the pool and the top of the pool was skimmed. That's it. Not sure if we had to pay more for someone to get in a wet suit and scrub every inch with a toothbrush or standard care included just cleaning the pool. Either way, after over a year and half of service, or lack of, I am afraid we have to cancel our relationship with Bays Affordable Pool Tile Cleaning Company. I'd like to apologize as a customer for us to make you neglect us so. But I have to give you the rating of 1 star cause you kinda ruined summer for us. Thanks. Okay so I really hate to write bad reviews but I just want others to know my experience before they chose to go with a company. I called Frank and spoke to him about my pool and inquiring to see if he could get the job done. I sent him photos and details of my pool and after discussion he said $450 ok no problem. So further questions how often will I need to do this, what's the warranty, can we swim right away after it's done, what is the procedure... all were answered once a year, we stand behind our work, yes swim right after no problem... we use high power blaster that's like tiny pieces of glass and I can get about 95% of it out of the pool once we are completed and your pool filters will do the rest (okay) After the 1st appt scheduled I had to reschedule the appt, made a new one but then the worker never showed so I called Frank and not sure where the mishap happened but mistakes happen. Next appt worker came out and I showed him the pool and asked him the same question about being able to swim after and how long. He said well the water is going to be milky for a few days but you can swim, I then said that wasn't relayed to me and I have a party on Saturday so my guest won't want to swim in milk; we reschedule and worker was actually happy about it cause his wife wasn't there to help him that day. Rescheduled with him and then appt day came for appt June 8, 2020 @12:30 pm work gets started everything is going great I'm videoing taking pictures excited to get the calcium gone. There will be pictures to follow. My pool is less then 2yrs old and I have a pool company who cleans and makes sure it's properly filter once a week mind you. So less the 80days everything is back and even more promenate as you'll see, so I called and left a message but no call back I'm patient because I know Covid19 is going on but still no call, so my husband calls leaves a message and following day received a call from Frank, husband explains what's going on. Frank in turns ask who my pool company is and says well the probably are balancing it right and have to much calcium in it. I call pool company my guy comes out next day we check everything nope calcium level is perfect and so is everything else. Husband calls frank back explains details of numbers from the levels and long long story short he does nothing at all; doesn't even try to see what we all could do, doesn't come out and look so absolutely nothing it was like we were waisting his time. So don't use a company that doesn't stand behind the work they provide don't use a company the lies, don't use a company like this one because you'll end up like me writing a bad review. I have posted this to my Nextdoor as well as told all of our friends not to use this company.. so if you see a trailer driving around with a cow on it steer clear. I should have Listened to the bad reviews that were already written on here. I do not recommend Bays pool tile cleaning service Frank and a young man came out to clean our pool tile. The calcium line is lighter but still visible all around the entire pool. I called him and also sent him pictures showing him the line was still visible he said it was sun damage. Interesting sun damage only where the calcium line was. I asked if he would come take a look at it and sent him pictures. He never called back or came to look. Also did no clean up after. My Pool service man also noticed the line is still visible. We hired Bays in April to assist us in getting our algae filled pool back to swimable condition. Frank said it should take about 3-4 weeks to complete. Well, Two months later and the pool was worse than it started. Frank said to get new filters, and i got new filters. Still it did not help. By June, they just stopped showing up without a call or notification, and they still sent me a bill for the month. Finally i just went out and bought a lot of Shock and chlorine and low and behold, the pool was completely clear after a week. A very high one. $4500. His first appointment was 5 weeks out so I took it. First thing he says when he shows up is "I under bid this pool, this is a 2 day job" . I'm thinking Ok, here we go with the bait and switch. I said to him, I would imagine it is at least a 2 day job , its a large pool. Doesn't $4500 cover 2 days worth of work? Keep in mind he is all by himself, a one man crew. Even though I hate the classic bait and switch and not honoring your bid, I am now desperate since 5 weeks has past, and we have a party coming up. So I offered to pay him time and materials/hourly, so he had no risk, and I could get my pool done, since I had waited 5 weeks already. He declined. The company did a great job of cleaning our 27 year old pool tile, which was last done about 9 years ago. They said they used a mineral salt process, similar to glass beading. The good part here is that there's not so much beading at the bottom of the pool left behind after the cleaining. The difference for us was a floating film that stayed for several hours on top of the pool water. But we ran our filters for about 8 hours and that clarified the water. They were very honest in saying that the calcium build up that discolored our tile was from very hard water. That comes from our public water supply here near Elk Grove. We should expect to have to get the tiled cleaned again in the future because of that condition. Makes sense. Very reasonably priced, too. Give them a call and see what they might be able to do for you when you need your pool tile cleaned. read more

My pool has never looked cleaner! The previous company that we used to clean our pool tile three years ago would not clean the stone coping or the Pebble Tec around the pool. Frank showed up, drained the water from the pool and then went to work promptly cleaning all the tile and the stone coping. The whole process took less than two hours. The pool looks great! Oh My Gosh, our pool has tile again!!!! When we bought our home, the pool had been neglected. There was just a small line of blue tile showing, the rest covered in crusty minerals. I had been looking into having it cleaned but everywhere seemed soooo expensive. Then I found Bay's. My tile is BLUE!!! my pool looks amazing!! We recently had a new spa heater, pump and filter installed. The price was very fair, and the quality of work is excellent. There was unexpected plumbing problems and Frank fixed it at no extra cost. I had my tile and black algae cleaned successfully but once pool service started that's when it went bad. I'm a single woman and emailed a complaint that pool service wasn't covering what I thought, guy stayed 2 minutes. He immediately returned to confront me about my email, was condescending and aggressive. I shut the door and he rang my doorbell again and said he my payment is late and I'd be going to collections, once again in an intimidating tone. I met Frank with at Bay's affordable pool and tile services because Sierra Pool Services we're unable to fulfill yet simple request of shocking my pool from green to clean. Shawn was supposed to make my pool clean and blue instead it just was green it never was totally blue and although Shawn the owner of the company was sick his wife felt that she didn't need to fix this problem so I was forced to find another pool place which is this one and Frank came out and told me the prices and there was no wavering it was A no haggle free situation where the price is the price and although I paid a little bit more to get my pool from green to clean it was well worth it and it was beautiful within 24 hours . Today, 6/22/2016, I had Frank come over to clean my pool tiles and waterfall rocks, he was on time for the appointment. We have never had the tiles clean since the installation of the pool over 11 years ago, after Frank was done, the tiles and rocks looks like new. He drained the pool down about 6 inches below the tiles, cleaned the heavy scale off the tiles and rocks, apply sealant, all done in about 75 mins. just put new filters in 45 days ago at rental. Bays is suppose to take care of the chemicals only. Renter called and said pool was turning green and they sweep it 2 times a week. This is on Sunday and fathers day. I sent Frank a text with pictures showing that it is not the filter and a picture of a half chlorine tab as I figured he would put the blame on me. Sure enough he asked if the filters were clean. I sent him the picture of the filters so he would not blame his poor service on the filters not being cleaned. The Text I sent before he replied said Did not mean to blow up your phone on Sunday here are some pictures that you should have and have a great weekend will talk to you on Monday. I knew Frank was going through a difficult time and wanted to make sure that Monday was ok. I did call him after he sent a text asking about the filters. He was rude yelling at me over the phone. My wife and I were in disbelief. He told me go find someone else and I explained that he needed to fix the problem first. He continued to yell and I explained that a half a tab when the levels are already low will not work. It is summer and pool gets a lot of use. Ask any pool tech if a half a tab is good when the chlorine levels are already low. I do not recommend him and advise you to document everything. He shocked my pool and now I have to clean filters again because of his poor service. He told me to find another service which I already did. Lastly, I paid him for the winter months when he used little to no chemicals and now that its summer his cost have gone up. Maybe that's why he acted that way. read more
