08/28/2023 Last Friday spoke to Alex via phone about setting up an appointment for an estimate to re-plaster my pool. Alex informed me that he would let me know on Monday. It was getting late and I had received no call or text from Alex so I called him again. Alex answered the phone and out right blatantly stated "Find another pool service." Wow!! He should have informed me from the get go instead of me wasting my time thinking he was going to call me. Alex and his crew did an amazing job refinishing my pool. We went with the aqua white pebble finish and it looks amazing. It sparkles from both the sunlight during the day and from the light they replaced for me at night. They replaced the tiles as well as the skimmer and water return lines. Alex, what happened?? All previous reviews rated you highly so I decided to give you a call. We set the appointment for you to see the pool and you arrived on time and took your measurements. We agreed that you would provide an estimate on a replaster of the pool as well as a repair of the areas that needed it. That was a Monday. Wednesday - texted you and inquired about the estimates. Friday - texted again and mentioned if no estimates are received, I'd have to move on. Remember, it's not how you start but how you finish. Two stars for being on time for the first appointment but nothing after to let me know you needed more time or you were too busy to take on the job. Unprofessional. read more

Alex was great with response time and coming to our house to give me a quote. Within about a week the date was set for the project. He drained and completely resurfaced my pool in only TWO DAYS! He turned our sad "swamp" pool into the perfect oasis. In addition he re-grouted the waterfall that was leaking, re-sealed the skimmer, cleaned and re-sealed the tile, changed out my drain to be up to current code, and replaced the pool light. Alex was amazing from start to finish. He is extremely prompt to respond and is very educated on his line of work. We were previously working with Adams pools. They dropped the ball on the easiest part... getting us the contract and a date of refinishing our pool. After a month of text, emails, and phone calls I was done! Who wants to deal with someone who doesn't even want to give you something simple as a contract. I posted in my community and a local gentleman used Alex. I went to this gentleman's house to see Alex's work and talk to him about his experience. He raved about him. His pool was gorgeous and I knew he was happy. So we made the call. Alex came over within a few days for a quote. He was reasonable especially since he doesn't have to pay CEOs, overhead, and sales commissions. And he does his own work with his guys!! He stayed to answer my many questions and was extremely honest on the products. Even when I wanted to be upsold he explained to me why it wasn't that much of a difference and I would be happy with the slightly lower cost one due to its smoothness and quality. He uses quartzscape which is widely loved by many of google. He came handles our crack and demo and did an amazing job. We still after almost a week look at it in awe!!!! I was hoping the previous reviews were inaccurate, but unfortunately they were not. Someone came out, gave us a price, we let them know we wanted to hire them and even picked out the color of tile and plaster we wanted. And then, radio silence. They won't return our phone calls nor our text messages. We even had a friend call to see if for some reason they were ignoring us. No answer. What a disappointment. read more

Water Splash was subcontracted by our pool builder. Alex and crew did a Stonescape finish on our 23,000 gallon new build pool in less then 2 days (plaster day one, acid wash day two). His team was professional and cleaned up after like they hadn't even been there. We helped us develop a custom color that Stonescape didn't offer. It turned out fantastic. Alex was not responsive when it came to giving me a quote on replastering my spa. He was great about coming out and saying he would be in touch about getting us a quote and the **crickets**. I texted then called and texted again... my last text to him informed him that if I did not hear back that Yelp reviews would be the next time he would hear from me. So here I am. It's just sad that a local company would treat customer this way. Did you know that there are 3 Dominguez family pool companies in Lodi? This company (Water Splash), DG's Tile and Pools (who are pretty pricey) and the Dominguez Pool's (I am awaiting their quote still) they just came out though. I find it interesting that the only 3 local pool companies that do this kind of work are all related... where is the rest of the local Lodi competition? Im not sure if I want to give them 2 or 3 stars ... i chose 3 stars , because part of what went wrong was my mistake . I contracted with Watersplash pools to replaster my pool . The original tile was in decent condition, so we, (Me and Alex ) agreed that the tile around the perimeter did not need to be replaced . At the time of the initial consultation and estimate , I asked about the small tiles on the steps and benches . Alex , stated that they could be matched and replaced and I would not be charged extra for those tiles .MY FIRST mistake ... GET IT IN WRITING! I took Alex on his word thinking I was ok ... NOPE . My original tiles were covered up and now I do not have any on the steps and benches . Also , I am a little concerned about the way the primer was done before the quartz plaster was applied . The original plaster was not completely covered with the primer , I hope it will last . Also, take lots of pictures .. I wish I had because , i Have nothing to go on , to show that there may have been a problem , such as ... My original tile was not masked and covered when the plaster was applied , so now I have blue plaster all over my pool tiles . This would have been ok if I was having white plaster done ... but not Tahoe blue quarts plaster on white tiles . Again , GET IT IN WRITING . It took a total of 2 days , maybe 10 hours total to do the job , that I paid well over 5k for . That being said , I feel that more time could have been taken to make sure the job was done more neatly . in the process , some tiles were knocked off , (I expected this to happen since , they are 18 years old ) but they're glued back on with , you guessed it , blue plaster ! Looked horrible , still looks horrible . I called Alex , he came for a short time one day , to pick up his check and fix the blue plastered tiles and to get some of the blue plaster off of my tiles . They put this white clay type water proof grout over the blue plaster , now it looks even worse . The plaster itself looks pretty , hence the 3 stars . Alex, did return my calls whenever I did leave messages and did try to communicate with me on a timely basis . He is a nice guy and I think he really does want to make things right . I think communication on my part should have been better, I let my busy life get in the way and should have never ASSUMED it would all turn out ok without my presence . I will update this review , if Watersplash pools makes what's wrong right , blue plaster off my tiles and tiles regrouted like they should be . I am Taking the responsibility for not communicating the tiles being replaced on my benches and steps , although I feel Alex does share some responsibility in that , he did discount me a very small amount . I do think all In all you could get a nice job done if you are one who will micromanage the job . read more
