    These guys can't be trusted. And that guy Julio is a snake. I went there after my car wouldn't start. I told them I'm a travel nurse and needed to get back to work as soon as possible. He went on and on how his daughter is also a nurse and all the money she makes.. They kept my car for almost a week and when I came back to pick it up, they presented me with a huge bill... $1,650 whilst boldy adding I would need to come back for a new battery "for a low rate of $400 " the audacity ! Incredibly disappointed, I left. Some days later I was stranded in the middle of the road. I had to get a tow from NY to NJ... almost 500 dollars! Thankfully I was able to get an appointment with Chevrolet who was able to get me back up and running. I needed a new battery and alternator. Which cost me 1,200 dollars. Auto tech did a plethora of things to my car I did not ask for. They took advantage that I'm a girl with literally zero knowledge on cars... saw my desperation to get back to work and callously took my money putting me in danger all to make a quick buck. Shameful and disgraceful . But karma is real old man... and so is an elevated PSA!

    My Jeep was absolutely DESTROYED by this shop. I needed a trailer hitch put on and they took apart the whole wiring system. I needed the BAYONNE POLICE to get my car back with multiple accessories not working. My worst experience EVER !!

    I needed to replace four tires on my wife's car as soon as possible because two of the tires were…read morenot holding pressure and were worn out. Since I do not drive this car often, I am not always aware of any issues unless she informs me. I purchased four tires from this location, and approximately one week later, I drove the car and discovered that the steering wheel was not properly aligned. It was surprising that my wife had not noticed this issue. I returned to the location, where I was informed that they had only performed wheel balancing, not an alignment. I accepted responsibility and requested that they complete the alignment. A few days later, my daughter was preparing to drive the car and noticed that one of the hubcaps was missing. I contacted the location to inquire whether they had it, but they stated that they did not. As a result, I ordered a replacement from the dealer. Make sure you check your car carefully once you get it back. About a month later, after driving approximately 800 miles since the tire replacement, I took the car to the dealer for service. The dealer informed me that the front left tire had developed a bulge on the sidewall and needed to be replaced. I returned to the tire shop and explained the issue to the employee at the counter. However, he did not come outside to inspect the problem and instead said that I did not purchase warranty and that I needed to contact the manufacturer. When I asked who the manufacturer was, he told me to look it up online. Because I had purchased a non-branded tire, it was difficult to determine the manufacturer. When I eventually contacted the manufacturer (Sailun Chinese garbage), I was informed that the tire shop would need to conduct a warranty evaluation and that there was nothing further they could do directly. In retrospect, I made a mistake by not going to a more reputable provider, such as Costco or a Goodyear tire shop. I did not choose Costco initially because they did not have the required tire size in stock, and I would have had to wait 7-10 days. Given that this situation occurred shortly after a major snowstorm, waiting was not a safe or practical option, as I believed it would have been dangerous to continue driving under those conditions. I would recommend going with Costco and avoiding the garbage Chinese tire Mavis sales or Mavis in general.

    DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE SCAMMERS -- WORST EXPERIENCE EVER (Pep Boys)…read moreI had one of the most stressful and dishonest service experiences of my life at Pep Boys, and I'm writing this so other people don't get trapped the way I did. I found Pep Boys online, but their website didn't allow me to add only TWO tries to my shopping cart for my 4WD vehicle. So I found the phone number listed on Google Maps for the nearest location. I called with only one purpose: to find out if they could replace only TWO tires on a 4WD vehicle. A person with an Indian accent answered and said yes, and then asked for my vehicle details and tire size. I gave everything clearly. He offered a good price and said he would email me the quote. The email didn't arrive right away, so he said he'd resend it. What I received was a duplicated email that contained ONLY the tire name and the cost of replacing two of them -- no vehicle info, no tire size, no details about who provided the quote. When I arrived for my appointment, I again confirmed that I was replacing TWO REAR TIRES ONLY. They took my keys and told me it would take about 1.5 hours. About an hour later, I walked near the bays and saw they had removed ALL FOUR WHEELS from my car. I asked why, and they said they had an order for replacing all four. Then the manager comes out and tells me I have two separate orders, each for two tires, and if I only want one order, I must pay a $30 restocking fee to cancel the second one. I disagreed and explained that this was a clear mistake by their person answering the phone. The manager refused to listen, he kept repeating that it was my fault because I placed two orders and therefore had to pay, and then he simply left. It gets worse: I looked at the tires they were trying to install and they were the WRONG SIZE. The manager admitted they didn't even have the correct size in stock -- and then tried to charge me a restocking fee for FOUR TIRES, now claiming it would be 20% (~$150). He blamed me for their own mistakes. When I asked them to find the person I spoke to or pull the call recording, he said he "can't help" and told me to complain to corporate. The only "help" offered was reducing the fee to about 10% (~$75). In the end, to get my keys back and leave, I was forced to pay $83. They STOLE my TIME, MONEY, and PEACE OF MIND. I later found out that the phone number listed on Google Maps is being forwarded overseas. This means you wo NOT be talking to the local shop at all, but to someone in India who has no idea what they're doing. Meanwhile, the store refuses to take any responsibility for what's happening. This is either gross incompetence or an intentional bait-and-fee setup. Either way: AVOID Pep Boys!!!
