Bacon and Brie grilled

Great service, relaxed atmosphere and oh boy do they know how to grill oysters! Well worth coming here. The classic chargrill had plenty of garlic and butter. Baked Bienville was very flavorful. The oysters in general are LARGE! There is a live feed video of the oyster grill to watch while waiting. Awesome service, fast quality food, great air conditioning. Fantastic little place! We are lucky to have found this on our trip and wish we had more time so we could come back.

Happy hour beers half off (3-6 everyday)

Bayes is pretty new, so I don't expect there to be a ton of reviews yet. However, it's sure to quickly gain a stellar reputation. The family that runs it (they run a few other places in Baton Rouge) are incredibly friendly. The owner's son, Ricky is the manager and is particularly welcoming and the kind of guy you want to support. Food/drinks: the food menu is very limited. It's an oyster place, and that's their focus. But if you're not really in the mood for oysters, it's also a great bar and hangout place. All drinks are half off from 3-6 every day! Not sure where else I can get a Ghost in the Machine for $3.50! As for the oysters themselves, they've got great variety, both in their raw and chargrilled versions. In short, as someone who is from out of town here on work, Bayes has really impressed me right out of the gate and plan to continue being a regular as long as I'm traveling here. Go here!!

The Captain's Platter comes loaded with fries, slaw, hushpuppies, and the honey butter roll that got me rolling. They don't just stop at fried seafood either; they also have crawfish étouffée, shrimp & grits, and po'boys on Gambino's bread keep things real Louisiana. Simple, flavorful, and straight to the point. This is the definition of comfort food. Tonylameats Approved @Cork's Fish & Shrimp

I had no idea. Corks was owned by the same people. One of my friends who works at Coy-Yon's in West Baton Rouge told me that I could still get that potato pretty easily on Government Street. I guess this is basically the same thing as our restaurant in Port Alan instead of barbecue, they specialize in fish and shrimp. I did get shrimp as my protein for the potato and it was delicious Definitely go, give it a shot. The server was very nice and friendly. Parking very simple. Interiors mostly white. They've got some art on the wall, looks like it's done locally. Most mostly of their other restaurant. If I had to complain and be picky, I would say take that Christmas tree down. I always find the tacky when restaurants or businesses leave their Christmas tree up all year. It's never the flex they think it is. But who cares. The food is good.

So, great conversations were had! Ok, the food-I ordered a catfish po' boy and it was SO good and flavorful! The bread was soft and the catfish crispy but not too crispy that it hurt my mouth! I also noticed that they had bread pudding so of course, I had to order that too! It was so soft, buttery, bready, and just, melt in your mouth delicious. I was trying to think of ways to pack some up to bring back home with me! Next time I'm in town I'll be sure to come back-so good and friendly service!

The food tasted good, and there wasn't anything particularly wrong with it, but I also didn't find it especially memorable. It was a perfectly decent breakfast, did what it needed to do, and that was about it for me. That being said, I don't think it would be fair to judge the entire restaurant based solely on one breakfast. I haven't actually tried one of their other meals yet, so consider this rating a work in progress. I'll update this review once I come back and try more of what Poor Boy Lloyd's has to offer. For breakfast alone, though, 3 stars feels about right.

It was nice and open and full of light coming in the windows. There were a lot of people there on a Saturday. We ordered multiple things off the menu. We got their grilled pork chops which came with mashed potatoes and an amazing sauce. I got the pulled pork sandwich with their shoestring fries. Everything was amazing. It came out hot and fresh and delicious. I didn't have a single complaint. The service was also good and their staff was helpful and answered any questions we had. I know if I am looking for a good place to eat downtown where to come back to!

Please avoid this place…read more Went for Restaurant Week and was completely disappointed. Food was not good...grease bombs and burnt cake that wasn't worth the calories. We will never be going back. Ambiance: The real estate of this establishment is wasted on this restaurant. Beautiful downtown location with a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows that look out at pretty foliage and the I-10 bridge. The interior? Dirty, cracking, grease splattered walls with dusty canvas paintings. Service: our waiter was very kind and attentive and should be working in a nicer establishment. The hostess was abrupt and lacked personality. Food: The Food at Capital City Grill has always been inconsistent at best erring on 'not great' but in an endearing way. Like leaning in to watching a terrible movie. You know it's a bad film, but you appreciate it because it's bad, which makes it almost good. Always felt this way about Capital City Grill until today. What we just had turned us off completely from ever returning.
