This is not my usual Baya Bar that is near me in Bay Ridge, accompanied my mom to her Weill Cornell appointment and ordered this after dropping her off to Canarsie. The bowl consists of granola, strawberries, bananas, coconut shavings and Nutella drizzle. It's tasty and fresh but have to say the portion seemed a bit small. I can't believe there's a gem of a spot like this in South Brooklyn! We were craving something refreshing in the neighborhood and stumbled upon Baya Bar. There were several people waiting for their orders upon arrival, as everything's made fresh and on the spot. This was my first time trying a Pitaya Bowl, which is basically a dragonfruit base that's sweeter and not as tart as an açaí base. I'm a huge fan of dragonfruit, so this bowl was perfect for me! I subbed the Nutella for Honey to give the bowl a lighter topping, as the fruit and granola toppings were sweet enough for me. I recommend eating the bowls as soon as you can because the base starts to melt. Besides, the thicker base tastes and holds better! Glad that they're opening other locations around NYC. I love Baya Bar. It's the closest I'll get to a Caribbean acai bowl. It leaves you feeling nourished, energized and not bloated. Me and my friend got the Acai-U-later bowl after the beach. Did not indicate that the granola contained nuts!! My friend spent 21$ on two small bowls and thankfully realized there were almonds in them . I'm surprised by all of the negative reviews. I think this place is great. Uber Eats tells me I've ordered from here 28 times in the past 4 months. Out of those 28 times, there've been only 2 times when I wasn't totally satisfied, and I got a refund the time I asked for it. I always get a large pitaya bowl and most of the time also get avocado toast. The pitaya bowls taste great - I actually never even knew there was such a food until I first found this place. The bowls taste good, the fruits are fresh, and thats their only selling points. It seems like this allows them to skimp their customers when they order smalls, I came back with a bowl they sold me that was obviously not full and they completely stood behind the portion they gave me. It was supposed to be a 12 ounce bowl and I told them to weigh it and they said they don't have a scale??? How do you not have a scale when your establishment sells manually filled portions and you sell said items by the size? I went back home and it weighed it myself it was 9 ounces (weighed in grams and converted) so I got 75% of the advertized portion. I asked for a Bella Nutella, I specifically said blueberries instead of granola and I would like to add peanut butter. He added the blue berries which I'm glad but the peanut butter was non existent.
