I was so excited to try Baya Bar. However, their Sheepshead Bay location doesn't have any of the kale bowls the other locations (like Mill Basin) have. Sad. I had the baya pitaya and added honey. Never knew this place existed until today. Apparently they have been open for 2 years. It's a small place that can do big orders. The 2 young nice ladies ( Julianne and Buse ) are super nice and very helpful. I was ordering 8 smoothies and they did not flinch. The 2nd young lady already had 8 blenders ready to go. I could not choose random smoothies so the 1st young lady was decisive and new which base liquid matched with which smoothie. The can use milk, water, coconut water and apple juice as a base. Just the friendliness of the 2 young ladies is enough to return often!! read more

I really love açaí bowls and I was so excited when I heard that baya bar was opening close to home. I've tried this place on 3 separate occasions and to say that I am very disappointed is an understatement. You pay the same price as you do at the other nearby locations (mill basin and bay ridge) and you get about half the ingredients. They are extremely stingy here and I won't be coming back. read more

man this used to be my favorite space but it's very inconsistent. I purchased two Bella Nutella bowls and it barely had anything in it and very little Nutella. Usually when I've come here it had a good amount of Nutella but I feel like I waisted both my time and money coming here due to the stinginess of toppings. Not worth $23 something for two people I got two things and they put 4 spoons in my bag showing the lack of detail. I believe a product like this should be consistent with portions each time. Honestly didn't even know there was a location so close to home! It's definitely in a hidden location- hard to see unless you're actually looking for it but it's convenient otherwise. I've visited a few times, every time there is different staff but the quality and freshness remains the same - the bowls are made to order as well as the smoothies. The protein acai smoothies are delicious, filling and not too sweet also many options to chose from!!! I love fruit, and acai bowls are my weakness. Here they are definitely on the sweeter side, the base is traditional acai, pitaya, or coconut and you can get mix ins or buy the traditional pre set menu. The bowl is garnished with fruit and granola, they are heavy on the toppings but it's a good ratio for the acai base. The acai itself is sweetened, and are the toppings and they drizzle honey! This is not what I would consider to be a health food, as moreover a dessert with all the sweetness + additional sugar added. Traditionally the acai bowls I've had are layered with granola on the bottom or something to cut the sweetness but this just has everything on top. Overall it's a great place for a healthier substitute and hits the spot especially on a hot summer day! read more

the cashier was so nice. i've never been here before so I asked him which one of the pitaya bowls would he recommended, it was between the copacabana bowl or the beach buzz. It was so delicious and fresh, very (instagramable ) if that's what you are into lol.
