Garlic Cheese Naan and Rice

Food was excellent, all the different ingredients used really sparked up my taste buds. Staff was friendly, I was quick to be seated and food came out within 10-15 once I ordered it. Everybody in here is in their own conversations and you can also have your own conversations without having fear of being too loud. I would definitely recommend this to someone who wants to try something new.

I came with an open mind and high expectations, being that the ratings at this establishment were pretty high. I would like to first point out the obvious, at least in my experience, that the customer service was mediocre. I had ordered two drinks, a House special sweet mango Lassie and chai masala tea, which both were very delicious, but I had to remind the owner 3x to get my drinks. Granted, the night was pretty busy for a Monday night, but getting my drinks late in my meal was not what I expected, at the very least. The entrees and the garlic naan were prepared with a lot of flavors. I enjoyed every bit of it. The portions were decent, but the price of $20 per dish and an "adjustment" fee of $6 for the entire meal on top of the sales tax was a bit steep and odd. The prices are steep, even more expensive than most Indian restaurants in California. The restaurant's ambiance was inviting and comfortable for an enjoyable meal setting. All in all, it's a pretty good Indian restaurant, but prepare to fork a hefty amount of money for it.

I am not one to write reviews but I have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. The shrimp biryani and chicken tikka masala are our go to and it slaps every single time. Each time I come in to visit my family we make sure this is dinner one night, I crave it!

Because of COVID-19, they are not serving the lunch buffet which is what I usually have when I eat here. But, good thing, the food is so good, anything you order will be delicious! The portions are big, so you can easily share a meal or save for leftovers. We decided to each order and share. This was the first time I ordered the Chai and it was great. I wish I ordered the Naan because it's always perfect for soaking up the sauce!

The restaurant is a bit withdrawn from the main street; it's a very nice space and looks family-run. They still have a sign out as if there's a buffet, but that's probably not allowed in this new corona-world, to the disappointment of some other perspective diners. I sometimes want a buffet and sometimes don't, this would have been a day for it, but I was nonetheless quite happy. My straightforward order of channa masala and poori tasted fresh. A separate side table was brought out for my fried bread, and the chickpeas, while only modestly hot, possessed a variety of sweet and savory flavors and were by no means simplistic. Other delicious-looking dishes were brought by to the other socially distant tables. I wasn't thrilled with the price to portion ratio, but the range of interesting vegetarian menu items and the flavor I got were certainly very good and probably not easy to find in the area.

Delicious! We really enjoy the weekend buffet. I love that I am able to try new things here and I haven't yet had a dish I didn't like.

My food came out shortly after which was nice after being starving. I ordered the buttered chicken tikka masala and buttered naan bread and I was blown away by the savory flavors that it brought! The portions are enough to satisfy for a meal there and leftovers for tomorrow :)

There were a couple people in for a meal and we were seated right away. Immediately, I noticed how well kept the restaurant looked. Our server asked for any allergies. We both ordered the Butter Chicken and butter naan to share. I also ordered a Chicken Tikka Masala and the garlic naan to go, for my husband who's home with our youngest. Our server mixed up my order and brought out the Tikka Masala, apologized and was so kind. He offered to pack it to go and bring the Butter Chicken but I refused - mostly because I knew I'd get some of that chicken later when I'd pick it off my husband's plate. Everything was fresh, tasted AMAZING and bursted with flavors! Both the dishes were well seasoned, creamy and had the right amount of heaviness. Both the garlic and butter naan breads were really great too, but do yourself a favor and go with the garlic! I can't wait to be back. So so so good.

Searching for a great Indian restaurant in Rocky Mount? Look no further. Lazeez is here. Located at…read moredowntown, this restaurant offers great food and service. We walked in the evening. The host was on the phone taking orders so we had to wait for a few minutes before we got seated. The restaurant has a cozy yet classy feel. Mango lassi was great. Sweet and rich. Aaam panna was refreshing. Vegetable platter was a good one to sample a lot of the appetizers. It had 2 pieces of the following vegetable samosa, spring roll, paneer pakora, vegetable pakora, and gobhi pakora. The lamb biryani was delicious. Service was awesome and everyone was warm. We were well taken care of. Highly recommend.

I'm not sure what was going on outside the restaurant, but there was a very unpleasant odor. Had we not already placed our order, I might have gotten right back in the car. Fortunately, the smell didn't carry inside. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, with lovely blue hues and modern accents that create a welcoming atmosphere. Our food was hot and ready at the promised time. I liked the menu setup, which allows you to choose your protein or vegetables, sauce, and preferred spice level. The mild Tikka Masala with tilapia was excellent. The mild Chicken Saag was a bit spicier than expected, and the spinach is puréed more thoroughly than at some restaurants where the greens remain more distinct. That said, it was very flavorful, and the chicken was exceptionally moist. The Lachha Parantha, described as a flaky bread, was a little overdone and chewy. On the other hand, the kheer (rice pudding) was rich, flavorful, and pleasantly thick. Overall, Lazeez serves fantastic Indian food in Rocky Mount. Despite a couple of minor issues, we'd happily order from them again.

They offered me a lunch and dinner menu, but engendered some disappointment when they explained that numerous items were not available. I wasn't seeking paneer, but that's what I ended up with. It was a well-prepared dish evincing fruity and herbal notes. Ordering a bread with cheese in addition was probably not a great decision on my part and left me overly stuffed, but the onions in it added a mouthwatering aroma. I expect some supply issues with this restaurant being near the beach and relatively isolated. I hope that if I find my way back here, they are able to offer more options.

You can taste the love in every bite. The red snapper moilee was buttery and perfectly cooked, the rogan josh lamb was fall-apart tender, and the mashed eggplant was unique and delicious. The naan basket was a must, and the mixed grill gave us a taste of everything -- all incredible. Heads up: food takes a little longer because it's made fresh to order, but that's part of the magic. It's absolutely worth the wait. The owner told us Saturdays get packed, so go on a quieter day if you're looking for a more relaxed vibe (or order takeout -- I bet it travels well). If there were an award for best Indian comfort food, this place would win it. Authentic, soul warming and unforgettable- we can't wait to go back!

However, this location in Morehead City, NC has been a favorite stop-by location for us for over a decade, whenever we are in town! Usually, several of my kids and I are just coming back from 2-3 days of primitive tent camping on Shackleford Banks, where we have to carry in all our own gear, water, and food, and then carry out all our own trash. As hardcore as that may sound, it is addictive in its own way--an experience one pretty much cannot get any other way. That said, by the time our feet hit the mainland, this restaurant is always the first thought in our minds, as we voraciously zoom towards it. We are usually ravenously hungry by that point, and this buffet becomes almost magical to us, as we dive into its extensive variety of hot, fresh foods (when only hours before our only options for days had been mere tuna packs, protein bars, and various jerky)! Over the years, we have never been disappointed with this buffet. While the building (both exterior and interior) is older, not that well maintained structurally, and thus nothing to rave about; yet the establishment overall is sufficiently clean, and the quality and taste of the food is always the star of the show anyway--and consistently so. Granted, full disclosure, after what we do on that island, probably even a cardboard pizza would likely be an improvement and surprisingly appreciated, lol! Still, I do not believe that our judgment is at all impaired when I state that we always look deeply forward to this place and enjoy it greatly, on our way out of town! It is often sort of a reward for toughing it out on the island with meager subsistence supplies for multiple days before. As such, I am grateful this restaurant is here, hope it stays a long time, and truly wish it well. It is always a nice finish-line for us, particularly after a grueling (yet delightful) hardcore island camping adventure!
