The staff are all friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions and concerns throughout the entire process. I knew exactly what to expect going in and coming out of surgery thanks to them, and the surgery itself only took about 10 minutes. I've had fillings that were way worse! 0 pain or discomfort. I'd describe the surgery itself like a slightly more complex eye exam. I opted to go with lasik over PRK, after talking with Dr. Rose (who is absolutely outstanding) and I was seeing clearly just a few hours later! Never once did I feel pressured or under informed. I couldn't recommend these folks enough! I struggled with vision since the 5th grade, and for the first time in my life I can just wake up and see!!! A welcoming staff member at the front, snacks and beverages in the comfortable waiting area, and from the size of that waiting area I could tell right off that it wouldn't be a crowd scene here. The technician who started my appointment was professional, friendly and answered all questions. That was a thorough eye exam! Dr. Moreira was also very professional pared with a friendly manner that I totally appreciated. No hard sell of any products or procedures, just this is what I see happening with your eyes,this is what you'll need when you're ready, let me know what you want to do and when. There's an optical area in the office, but again, no had sell of eyeglasses- your new script goes out the door when you leave. All in all, I had a great customer service experience and A+++ patient care. Take care of your eyes so you can navigate this world! Nielsen will do that for you easily and reassuringly.

From the initial consultation, the staff were friendly, patient and understanding of my nerves. On the day of my surgery, Dr. Giles was great and made me feel comfortable the entire time. The procedure took less than 20 minutes and was painless. After the procedure I experienced very little discomfort and after a few days, any discomfort I did have completely went away. I experienced dry eyes for the first week, but since then that has also gone away. Being able to see is the greatest gift and I am beyond grateful to TLC for giving me the gift of eyesight. If you are nervous to get LASIK, know that I was too, but wish I hadn't been so nervous because in the end I had such a positive experience.

Lest you think it's only due to personal relationship, Paul is also an instructor at Brown. Who better to perform eye surgery? That said, the overall experience was very positive, from scheduling to the exam process, then surgery, then billing question follow up. The actual surgery is done in batches, almost assembly-line styler. That may sound negative, but the staff was very attentive to all patients' personal needs and kept the process extremely organized so my mind was at ease knowing I was in good hands. I have been looking for a good eye doctor for some time now. After visiting a few (and regretting…read moreit) I decided to give Advanced Eye Centers a call. I used to see one of the founding doctors years ago when I was young, as I've had eye issues all of my life. It was easy to schedule my appointment as I was still in their system after what had to be 8 or 12 years! They went over my insurance with me and explained what I'd be expected to pay at my first visit. I was able to get an appointment scheduled about two weeks out, but that was partly because my own work schedule is busy! I arrived about 10 minutes early and completed some simple paperwork. I was the only one in the waiting room and right on time was greeted by Dr. Michaud, an OD at the practice. My exam was thorough but quick, which was really great as I was in and out in about 30 minutes. I was able to get a pair of contacts in my new prescription to wear home and ordered a few months worth to be delivered to my house - super convenient. Check out was simple and easy. They do have an optical shop on premises which is convenient, but I chose to keep my old frames and they do charge a fee on top of the lense replacement charge if you aren't purchasing new ones through them. I elected to shop around for prices, so I didn't spend too much time in the shop. The doctor and staff were friendly and helpful and the practice was very clean. I had a great experience and will continue to visit them in the future.

Just got my lasik done with Dr. Moreira on 8/18/16; it was a wonderful, fast and painless…read moreprocedure. Before lasik: I got my consultation and they ran some tests on my eyes to see if I would be a good candidate for lasik. The entire consultation was around 30 minutes. It was very attentive, and I was never kept waiting. After Dr. Moreira had told me I was a good fit, Kathy helped me booked my appointment, and follow up. She sent me eye drops to pick up at my local pharmacy the day before surgery, and additional drops to purchase. She went over the price, and told me the payment would be received on the day of the procedure. She was extremely helpful! Day of lasik: Before getting lasik they reexamined my eyes one last time. Afterwards, Kathy sat down with me gave me a Xanax, and two Advil. She went over my post op instructions and handed me a bag of goodies! Kathy then guided me into the relaxation room where I waited to begin. A doctor came into the room and gave me some numbing drops and had me lay on the bed. The procedure was very quick and I was under the laser for less than 10 minutes. I felt some pressure but nothing was painful. After it was done Dr. Moreira helped me get up, she looked at my eyes, gave me sunglasses, and I was on my way! I did feel some burning sensation afterwards but once I got home it went away. I went home took the Xanax they prescribed to me and went straight to bed. I woke up with better vision without glasses or contacts! I took the eye drops as told and the artificial tears when my eyes are a little dry. Follow up appointment: The day after I woke up with great vision and drove myself to see Dr. Moreira. They reexamined my eyes again and told me I looked good. I have another appointment in two weeks! Overall, my experience was great. I definitely recommend getting lasik here. Everyone is great and makes you feel very comfortable. They took my nerves away! It is extremely worth it. Thank you Dr. Moreira and Kathy for such a great experience!
