The technician who started my appointment was professional, friendly and answered all questions. That was a thorough eye exam! Dr. Moreira was also very professional pared with a friendly manner that I totally appreciated. No hard sell of any products or procedures, just this is what I see happening with your eyes,this is what you'll need when you're ready, let me know what you want to do and when. There's an optical area in the office, but again, no had sell of eyeglasses- your new script goes out the door when you leave. His exam was thorough, and he spoke clearly and slowly so my MIL could understand him. She felt very respected. So why don't they just advertise the true price?? Bait and switch, stay away from this location

Uh-oh, wait a minute." She had no idea. Then she left quickly. As my eyes were dilated and it was a very sunny day, I was blind on the road. I went about half a mile and gave up, turned the car around and went back to the office to wait until my eyes went back to normal. I asked at the desk why they don't have those temporary sunglasses that real optometrists have. They did have them, but they just weren't offering them to patients. When I got home I looked at my prescription; it is useless, obviously wrong, printed incorrectly. Every single interaction I had was sloppily mishandled, a chain of incompetence culminating in a giant waste of time, money and energy. Nielsen Eye Center has no patient survey to fill out after your visit, no follow-up, no method for feedback at all. I can't contact my "doctor". Patients are the very last priority for this arrogant, money-grubbing machine. It's been almost six months since I started dealing with this clown show, and I still have no prescription, my eyes have only worsened.

I figured maybe it was me, maybe I wasn't giving my eyes a break while viewing a screen when I was supposed to so I kept using them. At my next eye appointment (I go somewhere else for medical reasons) I asked them to check and see if the glasses matched the prescription and they said they were way off, that because of astigmatism it's important that they be centered correctly. So, I called and asked for the owner to talk about the error in the glasses. She did not return my call for about a week and when she did she seemed really defensive saying that it is not possible that the glasses left there with a flaw. Then said that they had to special order the frames because I wanted old frames which I was very appreciative of and thanked her again for. She then said that it had been a year since I got the glasses to which I replied I think it's been 9 months but thinking, who cares, I wasn't asking her for anything. I was calling to let her know that the person working on the glasses may need some more training on centering glasses. And to order new glasses with the new prescription I just received (that I did Not expect free at this point but was hoping for a discount due to driving cross-eyed-ish for 9 months). She finally snapped "you'll need to bring those in." Obviously. I don't think I'll ever go back there, she obviously cares more about not being wrong than she cares about her customers.

The ophthalmologist was not the problem but one of your techs was. First, she had a nasty attitude like she wanted to be anywhere but here. Clearly, she had my medical history in front of her and my age...over 65. When she started the eye chart tests which she called "programs" she kept YELLIING the information to read what normal people call an eye chart. Finally, the third time she YELLED at me I politely told her "Please stop yelling at me." She scowled at me. I considered getting up and walking out. This Tech who looked like she was still in high school was exhibiting blatant age discrimination. I am not deaf just because I am over 65! Never been treated as rudely as this before. I was rushed, and everytime I asked a question it was sort of brushed off and they kept trying to rush me thru the process, maybe they work on commission. So I was directed towards the cheapest wall (I asked for the cheapest options so that's on me, just graduated college) and they said my health insurance would cover the frames, but I had to pay $80 for the lenses themselves. The salesperson kept trying to upsell me. Thankfully I was with company, and my bf told me to just go on zenni optical. I shit you not, I went on zenni optical and bought a pair for glasses for 10$, the shipping and handling was $10, altogether $20. My glasses came today and look exactly like the $100+ pair that I saw at pearl vision, and I bought them for more than half the price. I bought a $400 pair of glasses here when I was younger, never again will I spend that much money.

From the initial consultation, the staff were friendly, patient and understanding of my nerves. On the day of my surgery, Dr. Giles was great and made me feel comfortable the entire time. The procedure took less than 20 minutes and was painless. After the procedure I experienced very little discomfort and after a few days, any discomfort I did have completely went away. I experienced dry eyes for the first week, but since then that has also gone away. Being able to see is the greatest gift and I am beyond grateful to TLC for giving me the gift of eyesight. If you are nervous to get LASIK, know that I was too, but wish I hadn't been so nervous because in the end I had such a positive experience.
