I highly recommend him and Meja Construction, without any reservations. In the midst of the pandemic, my HOA advised me I needed to replace a portion of my cantilever beam at my front door porch entry due to dry rot. Because of the pandemic, it took one (1) year of painful interaction with 20+ contractors, sorting through varied proposed scopes of work, with quotes that ranged from either the job was too small or too big, or would cost anywhere from $5,600 to $30,000. Not one of the scopes of work was the same, and some entailed completely having to rebuild my front door entry. I was at my wits end at this point and decided to go back to the drawing board to try to find a new set of contractors to go through the process with. I'm so glad I gave it one more go around! Right out of the gate, Manuel Sanchez with Meja Construction asked for photos and a copy of the architectural/engineer drawings I had paid the initial contractor for. Long story short...as it turns out, all that needed to be done was a little portion of dry rot needed to be removed and repaired; NO construction nor destruction of my front porch entry was necessary! And, the cost for the repair was Less than what the initial contractor charged me for his required architectural/engineer drawings, (which cost me $3,000+). Charlie performed the necessary repair in less than a day and left my front entry good as new. (Please see photos herein.) Heartfelt Thank You, Manuel & Charlie, for your quality work, extra care, and honesty during this unprecedented time! Meja Construction is definitively my "go-to" for any and all of my repairs!

I have heard horror stories about the construction process, surprises that pop up in an old house (our house was built in the late 50's), and the REAL cost of the project. After meeting with four different contractors we decided on Cal Bay. Carlos came across as the most genuine and motivated to do good work. He also quoted us what I thought was a fair price. I can't say enough about Carlos and his crew. They were all very courteous and hard working. The project came out as we had hoped it would, probably even better. We did uncover some unforeseen items along the way that were additional charges, but Carlos was more than fair in his pricing. Also along the way, we added the dining room and all the doors in the house. Carlos was not annoyed with our adds and he did them at reasonable prices. With the little adds (additional outlets, ceiling fan install) I requested he never even added them to the price. Not every contractor would do that. What most people reading this want to know is, DOES CAL BAY DO GOOD WORK? WAS THE PROJECT ON TIME? WAS THE TOTAL COST REASONABLE? I have attached photos, so you can see the final product. My wife and are are very happy with the work and the Cal Bay crew's attention to our vision. The entire project took a little longer than we thought it would, but we did add quite a bit of work and with the unforeseen items, that were not small, it was pretty close to what should be expected. In fact, my wife said she really didn't feel it was as painfully long as some people had told us. Finally, the total cost was within our budget and what we expected to pay. To compare, I met with three other contractors and the final price for my whole project (Unforeseen changes and our add-ons included) was the same price I received from the highest quote for just the bathrooms and kitchen. My wife and I are really happy we chose Cal Bay and I plan on calling the crew back for our next project.

New floor, new drywall, new electric, new bathtub and shower, new wall tiles, and all the furnishings. We provided detailed plans, layouts, and furnishings list. Overall we are very happy with the result. Alex was very detail oriented, and was always ready to make a change if something wasn't going to work for us. His drywall, paint, and trim work were excellent. Tile work was very good as well. He and his team were very respectful of our space and did their best to keep things clean (but any remodel makes a mess!) Ray was very responsive to my questions and was easy to get a hold of. Always friendly and easy going. At the end of the project our bathrooms were complete all the way down to the details I laid out in a plan. The value for their work is excellent - we had another contractor bid 50% more and I seriously doubt they could do 50% better! Did everything go perfect? No... do I think it would have gone better with another company? Nope! However, when there are problems the most I can ask for is solutions, and Ray and Alex worked with us to solve them. Also the timeline of the work went longer than expected. This may have been mitigated by more workers on some days, but sometimes you can't rush good work.

We started this whole mess on July 6th and I honestly thought my marriage was going to survive about 3 days of no sink. Done Right Builders showed up at 7 AM sharp that first morning and I will be real with you I was bracing for the worst because our last contractor ghosted us after demo. But these guys? They actually communicated. Like daily texts with photos. There was one screw up around week two where they ordered the wrong backsplash tile and I panicked because I thought we would be delayed another month. They owned it by noon that same day and had the correct tile expedited and installed by July 22nd at 4 PM. My only tiny complaint is they play loud 90s rock music during tear-out but honestly I miss it now. They swept our floors every single night which my weirdly picky mother noticed and she never notices anything. Done Right Builders is expensive but worth every penny because we did not have to redo a single thing.

The team is highly efficient and would recommend anyone who are looking to get their projects done. We were looking for someone to remodel our kitchen, half bathroom and build a custom TV wall. We went through a few contractors before coming across Jose from East Bay Home Improvements. In our first meeting, Jose was courteous and went through all the project details. I never felt being pushed into something as he listened patiently to all our requirements. After a few days he came back with the 3D designs for the space, which was very helpful to visualize. We worked with Jose to make some changes in layout and he was prompt in make those amendments. Once we finalized the design, we were quoted for the work. One thing I really liked that Jose provided quote with a detailed breakdown of material and work. Work started a week after we signed the quote. With the material: I shopped around for kitchen cabinets but couldn't find what we were looking for. So I got help from Jose and went with him at some of his recommended stores and finally landed up with what I liked. Jose also went above and beyond to find the exact tv panels as none of the online stores in US were having it. Now, with the actual work: Their team is very nice, courteous and always on time. They usually came around 8:15 am in the morning and stayed back till 4:30. We noticed they never wasted any time and were very focused on their job. They have an eye for details and never left any rough edges around their work. There were some finer details that were missed at times, but when I brought them up they ensured it was addressed promptly. When it comes to timeline of the project, they did it fairly in time. As always with any big projects, there are some unexpected delays, but Jose kept us very honest as things came along. Overall, the quality, workmanship and customer care provided by Jose was top notch! I would recommend anyone planning to get their kitchen/bathroom or any home remodel from East Bay Home Improvements.
