Bay Area Muffler in Fairfield Ca did a great job on fabricating/welding Cap J-Pipe in front of my flowmaster muffler to get rid of the cabin resonance and drone at certain rpms. I have a 2006 Ford Expdition. Jesus and Hector were friendly and professional. Honest shop and quality welding is for sure present. Thanks again for the great work.

Took my friend to add a little bit more sound to his car and I had an amazing experience! They were respectful, hospitable, punctual and all around awesome people 10/10 would recommend, and they do amazing work, put in the extra effort to get everything measured and lined up perfectly even went to ask how he wanted his tips to be positioned! Amazing, Amazing work!

I took my prius to Bay Area Muffler to get a cat shield installed. I called first and they said they were by appointment only. I set up the appointment for a Thursday. I got their a few minutes early and they showed up promptly. Jesus and Hector are great! explained the process, installed the shield, couldn't have been a simpler process. They even charged me $20 less than they quoted me... super happy! highly recommended. I'll be taking my other vehicles there from now on. Thanks guys!!

My Auto Guardian Angels!!! Been coming here for well over…read more15+ years for fantastic service for my older 2003 Acura before selling it, and now my 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe on everything from simple oil changes & windshield wipers to breaks, struts, alternator, timing belts, water pump, transmission issues, etc. What really locked me in is when talking to the owner Khoi he made a point on telling me they have a special point of looking out for women, single mom's etc. because he knows in this industry, they're often easy targets for mechanics who prey on women. Totally admired him for that. I know the whole team Gene, Khoi, Andy, & TJ (has changed a bit over the years), but still same great service. I should have posted about them well over a decade ago, but after having my car serviced yesterday (12/29/25), TJ & I talked about an issue he specifically helped me with last year when I was in a battle with Hyundai Dealership staying compliant on fixing a "Rod Bearing Failure" recall issue that requires an entire replacement engine install due to my car was experiencing serious stalling, slowing down in the freeway, and drastic oil burning out to the tune of needing oil fills every 2-weeks!!! One of the Hyundai Service Specialist advised I NOT refill the oil and just let it burn out until the engine locked or a specific service light switched on. I told her that sound awfully drastic and dangerous, but she said that would be the fastest way for them to get the proper engine "Rod Bearing Failure" code reading they needed to warrant the engine replacement. Needless to say, no oil caused the catalytic converter to blow out. Now, the Hyundai Specialist comes to me singing a new tune that it's now MY responsibility to pay $4500 for the Catalytic Converter to be replaced NOT addressing the new engine at all. I immediately hopped on the phone and followed up with TJ at Factory Specific, not only did he fully consult & educate me on the EXACT steps to take to make them address and fix ALL issues including the Catalytic Converter but that I could take it up with Hyundai Corporate office as well if necessary, bottom line do NOT let them off the hook. TJ's ADVICE WAS AWESOME; I GOT NEW ENGINE & CATALYC CONVERTER REPLACMENTMENT AT $0 COST, PLUS A NEW 2025 HYUNDAI SANTA FE LOANER CAR FOR ABOUT THREE WEEKS!! My Auto-Guardian Angels! ;-) Sorry this review so long, but I had to put this story out that might help someone else facing a similar recall issue and having difficult time in getting the dealership to keep their word! FACTORY SPECIFIC - Always fair pricing, awesome friendly fast customer service with a smile- good group of guys. I will refer them ALWAYS!

Moorehead Automotive came recommended by Chai over at Take 5 Oil on Walters Rd. My wife brought her…read moreSubaru Outback in, needing the front differential oil changed--a straightforward job, nothing exotic. The quote? $369. That's for about $15 worth of oil .5 to 1 hour tops for labor...(Based on standard Subaru dealership flat-rate times (book time), a front differential oil change for a 2020 Subaru Forester is generally allotted 0.5 to 1.0 hours of labor) You start to notice a pattern. The price is so out of line, it's hard not to wonder if this is their "special" rate--reserved for women, older folks, single parents, really anyone who walks in and looks like they won't argue or might not know the ins and outs of car maintenance. The kind of people they peg as easy marks. What's worse is knowing my wife was sent there by another shop, like they're all in on the game. These places count on you not knowing what things should cost, or being too polite to push back. But the word gets around. If you're a woman, or really anyone who's ever been talked down to at a mechanic, you know how this goes. Shops like Moorehead don't just overcharge--they make you feel like you're not supposed to ask questions. We won't be going back to Moorehead Automotive. Or Take 5 Oil, for that matter. And I'd tell anyone who doesn't want to get taken for a ride to steer clear, too. The owners explanation below... Nasif S. Business Manager Apr 15, 2026 Kenneth, thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We completely understand that pricing for fluid services can feel high, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify how this estimate was built. For this service, we sourced pricing directly from Subaru and provided a quote that was actually $40 less than the dealership price, while still using OEM Subaru fluid to ensure the service is performed according to manufacturer specifications.Regarding labor, the 0.5-1.0 hour labor time is the correct flat-rate time for this service on the Forester/Outback platform. At our posted labor rate, the breakdown is 1.0 hour × $195 in a worst-case scenario, plus the cost of OEM fluid, which is approximately $30 per quart. To complete the service correctly per Subaru specifications, it requires 3 quarts, plus applicable tax. This places the estimate in line with both manufacturer labor standards and OEM fluid cost.We also want to clearly address the concern raised regarding your wife. Our female manager, Elvira, personally provided the quote. We never attempted to take advantage of your wife or any customer regardless of gender. We pride ourselves on treating every customer with the same honesty, transparency, and professionalism.Additionally, Take 5 did absolutely nothing wrong in referring you to us. They referred you to a facility equipped to perform the service using the correct OEM fluid and manufacturer procedures, which is exactly what was quoted. After hearing your concern, we also attempted to reach out to your wife to offer the service at a discounted rate as a gesture of goodwill, but unfortunately we have not heard back.We understand that the cost of oil- and fluid-related services has gone up significantly in recent years. Unfortunately, that is not due to us "upcharging" customers the cost of OEM fluids, parts, and fuel continues to rise across the industry, and those are factors outside of our control. We always welcome questions regarding estimates and are happy to break down pricing so customers understand exactly what is included before making a decision. Please reach out to us if you have some time, Would love to touch base with you Via Phone call. Reach us @ 707-429-4100 My response to the owners explanation below... I heard the voicemail you left saying Subaru charges $400 for this service, so I called both Subaru Fairfield and Subaru Napa to check for myself. Napa quoted around $400, but that's for both the front and rear differentials. Fairfield quoted less than your $369--again, for both. Both dealers said they usually do both at once, but would do just the front for about half the price.I also ran the numbers through RepairPal, which pulls real quotes from shops in the area--including yours. The range? $174 to $234 for the exact same job. And yes, Moorehead Auto's own RepairPal quote landed right in that range. So your in-person quote was $130 to $200 higher than what you give through RepairPal.I get that costs go up. But the numbers don't add up here, and your "discount" is still more than the average shop charges to begin with. I'm not interested in a phone call--I just want customers to know it pays to do their homework.
