I worked for Baxter Healthcare for 17 years. During that time I took out a life insurance policy on my husband. I knew it would go up some each year, but in the last 5 or 6 years, it has gone up drastically. It has gotten so expensive it is hard to financially keep the policy, but we know that if we don't, we will lose almost every thing we have paid into the policy. So financially it is difficult to maintain, but would be financially unwise not to keep it. I don't think any of us knew when we purchased this policy this would happen, and each year it keeps going up. I feel sure this is done, wanting us to drop the policy, and they have collected money all these years and pay out next to nothing. This is a major medical company and I would think they would want to assist with this problem, be fair to the people that worked for them for years, and to be fair to retired people who are on limited incomes. They are very disappointing to me as a company. I see the salaries, the bonuses, etc. that they receive, but yet they keep taking more and more back from their retirees and employees who worked for them for many years. They are an embarrassment to the industry. read more
