My husband and I had a great time visiting Baugher's today! It was their first day of the season and because it was a Friday afternoon, it wasn't too busy. We ended up picking a basket of our own strawberries. The lady who rang us up in the market and explained the process was friendly and helpful. The gentleman who drove the tractor to and from the field did a great job explaining the picking process and which strawberries to pick or not to pick. We never had to wait more than a few minutes to take the tractor to and from. Afterwards we visited the petting zoo and fed the animals two bags of food which we purchased from the market. They were sooo cute! The one goat was so funny and his name should be "Shadow" since he followed us around the whole time! He can be seen in our pic feeding the duck. He was so funny! The animals were all friendly and super cute to hang out with for a bit. Feeding the goats up on the structure via conveyorbelt was so fun and entertaining! I highly recommend visiting and plan to be back in a couple months to pick peaches and nectarines! read more

We had gone to Baugher's for apple picking on a nice sunny early fall afternoon. We parked and I had prebought the tickets online, but I ended up getting an extra bag for 6 dollars. A small tractor comes by and picks you up to take you to the apple orchard. When we went it was some gala apple, some golden delicious and some macintosh. Filled up my bag as much as I could and we took the tractors back. We walked into the market and I picked up some no sugar added apple butter, some dinner rolls, an apple hand pie, and some black pepper ketchup. It was such a nice little farmer's market with local goods. After that we got into the line for the apple cider slushies and apple cider fritters and that was just the best way to end the afternoon, enjoying these nice treats. I wish they would allow dogs but other than that I was a fan. read more

What a great way to spend a lazy autumn day- picking apples in Carroll County. There's a tractor that transports visitors out to the orchards where you have several apple varieties right there for the picking - reds and greens. We did change the baby's diaper earlier in the car, so we were fine. We brought an extra diaper in case, and we brought food for the baby. My baby eats a lot and when we brought the baby's food and milk, they did not let us. We told the staff she eats a lot, but they did not understand or feel us in this situation. we were mad but they did apologize but apologizing does not help you guys not to be a pain in the butt or make us feel different about your orchard. read more

Baugher's is such a great, family-friendly adventure! This past weekend, we went and picked cherries and it was amazing! We arrived around 1pm and there was still PLENTY of cherries available to pick. I also love the market with fresh produce, Jams, salsas, pies, etc. There are also TWO playgrounds which our kids love. And lastly, there's a free petting zoo which again our kids love. You can purchase food for the animals at the market for $1 a bag (and a play is plenty of food). The main reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, is that it quickly becomes a pricey experience. You have to pay to ride on the wagon that takes you to the field, which is $4 per person. You cannot get to the pick-your-own crops without the wagon. So in addition to the wagon tickets, you have to purchase the containers to pick your fruit (which is pretty typical). For example, this past weekend I spent $46 on this ($16 for the wagon ride for 4, and $30 for the 1/2 peck container for cherries). read more

For my first apple picking experience ever we headed over to Baugher's Orchard based on reviews I had seen online. We went two weeks before Halloween and this place was packed. You have to wait in a very long line in order to purchase a band and bag for apple picking (or pumpkins if you go that route). I would say we stood in line for about an hour. I would imagine this may be a difficult wait for families with small children because there is nothing really to do or look at as you wait, and it is right next to the main road through the farm. They had a tractor that took you out to the apples, and that convenience was awesome. They dropped us off in the orchard and gave us some basic info about picking apples. I wish we would have gone earlier in the season because a majority of the trees no longer had any apples. Many of the ones left had holes or rotten areas. You can even see from my photo how many apples were on the ground versus in the trees. The other thing is we wish that they had some descriptions on what the types of apples were. All the apples were types we were unfamiliar with so it felt like we were picking blindly and hoping they would taste good in the recipes we had in mind. I know you can call ahead and ask what variety are being picked that day, and that may be a good choice for next time so we could do more research. Overall we had fun, and they clearly have a busy operation on this family farm, but next time I would go much much earlier in the season. read more

One line review: great place, except for the patrons! :D Okay, let's be more fair here. That's probably a true statement anywhere, honestly. But, with the Fall business that Baugher's does, you really do need to be on the lookout for other patrons. Because I promise, they will NOT be on the lookout for you. I think maybe we picked a peak weekend? But, it was super-crowded and it was a 30 minute line just to buy tickets for the apple picking and pumpkin patch! Just to purchase the right to pick!! The lines for the actual trams were pretty short and moved quickly, though, so... trade off?? The place was a zoo, though. Kids running around everywhere, band playing, carnival style food being hawked... It was less a farm and more of an "Experience, man!!" (think Woodstock, but without the mud) Well, it probably didn't help that this was during the pandemic and one of our friends who joined us got COVID shortly after. Not saying she got it here... but I'm not saying she didn't. Their apple cider is amazing, though, and it's worth going to pick some up. Also, if I'm being honest, the apples that we picked were really REALLY good. They weren't your garden-variety (wrong term?) run-of-the-mill apples that you can find in your grocery store. They had some neat varietals that were nicely different for different purposes. I'm not sure I'd pick my own pumpkin again, though. True, we got some amazing specimens, but they weren't cheap! A 30-pounder will cost you over 20 bucks, which is insane considering they're 2 for $10 at the local supermarket. Although, to once again be fair, you won't find these big guys there either. And they did have a nice variety of different pumpkins. Plus, you know you can eat those suckers, right? Anyway, it's hard to really find fault with this place. It's just become super popular over the years as a Fall weekend destination, so of course it's going to be crowded... of course they're going to try to make money off the carnival aspect they've got going. That's fine, keep small(ish) businesses running, I'm all in favor of that. Just... know before you go. Don't go on peak weekends unless you're ready for a long line. Don't go on hot late-summer/early-fall weekends unless you're dressed appropriately. Don't go if you hate crowds or are agoraphobic (at least not on the busiest weekends). But, do go early or late or whenever you can and be ready for shoulder-bumping with your neighbors in the peak season. read more

Definitely worth the trip! My advice- get there EARLY! We went to Baugher's on a nice fall day only an hour after they opened. The lines were pretty long, mostly for the pumpkin patch which we were not doing. We went apple picking which was great. Other orchards require non-refundable reservations which seemed like more of a headache to me. We had a great time and never had to wait long to catch the trolly to/from the apple picking area. We were able to pick Fuji, Evercrisp, and Golden Delicious apples- but as others mention, check out their website to see what you can pick. After picking, we went down to the market which had music, scarecrow making, food trucks, the market itself (apples, fall baked goods, jarred goods, etc), and some other kid-friendly attractions. We picked up a few items including apple cider donuts, apple cider, chocolate peanut butter fudge, and some small pumpkins. I thought the selection of these items were great. It was crowded for 10am on a Sunday but the weather was nice and none of the lines we were in were unbearable. I liked that there were some kids activities but overall it kept the feel true to a real working farm/orchard. We will definitely keep this on our fall list of go-to activities! I'm about to get my attorney involved. In the end, I will lose $, but it's worth it just to stand by principles that a consumer should be protected! These folks just effed with the wrong customers. I would give Baugher's and their Purchase Protection insurance co NO STARS, if possible. Trust me: BUYER BEWARE! Find another family-friendly farm to frequent, and not a place that looks to take your money, and not give a damn about reimbursing you (according to contractual terms). read more

Went there today with family to visit animal zoo and pick apples. As with all our past visits very enjoyable. Only downer was the old bearded guy at the entrance to the parking lot. He was downright nasty/rude. Barking orders and would not answer a single question. I was taken aback and told him "we just got here" and he "did not need to bite my head off". I have missed taking my girls for the Pumpkin patch the past few years so I made it a point to get there before October ended. We took the drive from Harford County and Eastern Baltimore County for our first ever visit to Baughers. We had a great time! The tractor pulled hayride was $2 pp and was a bumpy fun ride! The look on my mothers face was priceless as we headed to the field. There was a good selection of pumpkins and unlike other patches I've gone to, they were all cut from the vines. I loved the fact that there were slides for the kids to play on. My girls liked that. After we picked our pumpkins, we headed back and paid (.49 a pound). We then went get snacks to nosh on. My oldest got the cheddar kettle corn (so good! And i don't like kettle corn). My baby and mom got candy apples. I had some yummy peanut butter cookies . I thought the prices were great ! I wish i had known that a lot of the cooked food was cash only. They do have an atm but I'm super cheap and don't pay fees for atm. We also stumbled across a lot of the kids activities (bouncy house and pony ride) after i spent all my cash Next time i know. I had no complaints (other than a grumpy teenager but I guess this isn't the place to complain about that ) will definitely return! read more

We went for the annual apple festival. There are many vendors but not much for younger children to do. There are plenty of places to grab food and apple items. They do run out of food by the final day (when we went). They charge a small fee to get in, but less than other festivals. We also enjoyed the live music. It was ok. read more

June 28,2020 the first time I have ever visited an orchard. I was excited to visit because one day prior to taking a trip to this lovely place I had saw it mentioned on Facebook. Sunday morning I decided to take s quick road trip. When I arrived I was shocked to see that so many people were already there. I didn't care for the fact that people were not practicing social distancing. Mask were being worn. My friend I took the proper precautions to make sure that we were remaining safe. The line to purchase a ticket to ride the tractor up to the orchard is $4.00 per person. You must purchase the box to put your picked cherries in prior to going up to the orchard. You had the 1/4 peck which was $15.00, the 1/2 peck which was $30.00 and the whole peck which was $60.00. Once you purchased your ticket you then went to stand in a second line to wait to board the tractor. The lines were long but, I have to say that they were moving steady on that 90 degree day. Of course the tractor we rode didn't have a cover over the top. LOL Anyway, we enjoyed the short ride. Once we got of the tractor rules were given. There was no limit to how long you were to stay in the orchard. As we walked the orchard on you knew what tree was for you. We roamed until we found the perfect spot. Of course we didn't pick the same tree. We were off in our own little world. We later met back up. Both excited because each of us had filled our PECK. We then went back to where the tractor would pick you up once finished. We were right on time. The tractor was on the way up the hill. A quick ride back down. All was good other than the person behind us who had an umbrella up to block the sun but, kept hitting the person who I was with in the head. We didn't let that spoil the trip. Once off the tractor we were gonna go into the little market but, by then we both were super exhausted from the heat. This was one great experience. I was anxious to get home and wash my cherries. I tried putting some in the freezer since I had so many. Well, long story short........ I found out that I actually like frozen cherries. I was eating them in the middle of the night. Well, at least it was a healthy snack. I hope I get a chance to make it back before Summer 2020 is over. read more

This is a really great spot for a nice fall outing. To celebrate my mother's birthday weekend, we surprised her with a trip to take the entire family apple picking. Besides the long lines and wait time at the beginning, this was a really fun and memorable experience! The experience kicks off with a tractor ride to the apple orchards and then we received a brief information session on the variety of apples available. You can pick as many apples as can fit your bag, but you can also eat them directly off the tree -- which I definitely made sure to do. Not only were the apples sweet, the scenery was not too bad. I wish I spent more time there. They have a pumpkin patch and an area to see some farm animals (we saw some goats). They were also selling frozen apple cider and hot donuts, both of which I'll be back to try for myself. read more

It was pretty crowded but once we got to the apples you could spread out and there were plenty to pick. $3 for the tractor ride to get to the apples and $20 for the medium size a bag to put them in. Had an wonderful morning picking cherries at the orchard. Price was $15 1/4 peck, $30 1/2 peck, and $60 for a full peck. It makes sense to get a few 1/4 instead of one peck for a family so everyone can pick their own at the same time. The tractor ride was $4 each (I remember back in the day when it was free but I guess times change and the price of everything is going up). Definitely recommend going early in the morning to beat the heat. There were plenty of ladders and cherries to pick from. The market had a variety of fruit, veggies, canned products, toys, and crafts. There is a display outside for Instagram. There is a playground for the kiddos and a petting zoo. Definitely a cool activity to do outside. No you cannot bring your dog. No you cannot walk to the field to save the $4 (don't be cheap lol). read more

Took some lovely back roads to spend about a half hour picking cherries. That was all the time we needed to fill our 1/4 peck basket (about 3.75 pounds) from the lush, laden trees. It was a delight to climb the ladders and find clusters of sweet, dark gems. Did I sneak a couple into my face? Yes. Yes, I did. But only a couple. :-) The shop has pre-picked cherries, of course, but if you're inclined to stroll the orchard, it's worth the experience and cost. And, deciding somehow that w didn't have enough cherries in our life, we bought an amazing looking pie. Haven't tried it yet but really, I can't imagine it'll be anything but a treat! Always high quality produce and fruit. The scenic drive from College Park to Westminster is worth the trip alone. The peaches this summer have been very juicy and rewarding to the taste buds. This place has become a family tradition year round. A hay ride to Pumpkin field and apple orchard in the Fall. Strawberry picking in the Spring, and cherries and peaches in the summer. After you have picked your fruit, drop your goodies in the car and take the kids to the petting zoo where the goats and llamas are ready and waiting for you to feed them. Make sure you have some quarters to purchase some food from the gumdrop machine. After petting all of the animals upon leaving the petty zoo they have an area where you can wash your hands. Great idea especially if you head to their market which is loaded with the seasonal produce as well as fruit pies , jams, salsas etc. In the parking lot they have a food truck and in the Fall you can get hot apple cider During strawberry season make sure to get the fresh strawberry slush! Yum While you shop or wait for food the kids can go to the playground (located in the same area). Great day apple picking. There were taped places to stand in line for tractor to deliver you to the orchard area to pick apples. I assumed apples came from trees but these looked more like cultivated kind of bushes There are also prominent signs to stay masked. However there is no enforcement as MOST people adhered but some either didn't have masks or pulled them down. And as usual from my daily experience people have no clue about respecting personal space much less staying 6 feet away. I simply kept my distance but did not go in store due to crowds . Also had to take my nephew out of play area as there were hordes of kids who don't know any better about distance(including my nephew)Unfortunate times we live in but still enjoyed the day. Tickets for tractor to trees was $3 and you prepay for various sized totes and then go to pick away. I was sad there were so many apples on The ground but in some cases when you remove an apple 3 fall to the ground and then either eventually rot or animals/bugs get them. But there were a lot to pick from on trees with certain aisles roped off for more growing time. There are so many varieties. Apparently there is a highly prized one aging in a few weeks that is a must try. Will remain unnamed here lol. read more

This was so much fun picking sour cherries on our Maryland camping vacation. The kids had a blast climbing up into the cherry trees to pick the cherries. They didn't really like the taste of the sour cherries so the adults ate more than the kids did. Cherry cobbler for desert was amazing. My friend and I made the road trip out from DC to the farm on a adventure mission of peach picking! As first timers I had not idea what to expect! The team was super nice and knowledgeable of the product and gave step by step details. We got a ticket and jumped on the tractor to the field. It's a little dirty and dusty on they way out so be prepared. This was such a fun experience ... they gave us clear directions on what type of peaches to pick and a area they look best! The ticket to pick peaches was just 2 bucks and you pay for what you pick by the lbs. if you like the outdoors and cool experiences then this is for you. After trying to contact Baugher's privately via FB and email with no response I feel I have to leave a yelp review. This used to be a family friendly business, but no more. many of the employees are very hostile (not all--- but my kids got to listen to employees harassing patrons). If you visit, be prepared to be treated as a criminal. Although no signs are posted in the parking lot--- when you purchase your tickets you will be told no bags can go with you to the picking area. Even my SMALL purse. Even when I told them I needed it to carry my young daughters Epi pen . Thats okay I was told--- you can carry it. Along with carrying car keys, wallet and keeping track of my 3 young children and the picking basket..... But don't worry.... once we got to the picking area we got to see lots of families with bags There were two more instances of employees rudely speaking to patrons, but you get the idea A long family tradition has ended as Baughers focuses on $$ and not on family read more
