Seasonal Tractor rides to pick-your-own apples, cherries, pumpkins, strawberries, peaches etc are our favorite! The sweets are a bonus. We love it here.

Local orchard and market. I have been coming here for over 10 years to pick up local apples and the best tasting apple cider. They offer pick your own produce but I just grab the fruit at the market onsite to avoid having to wait for a tractor to bring me out to the field. They also sell assorted baked goods too.

If you're looking for a fun morning for your littles, some fresh picked fruit for yourself, or just the most delicious apple fritters you could dream of - head to Baugher's orchard. If you want to pick your own fruit, be sure to call their hotline before leaving to find out what's available that day. The strawberries we picked a few months ago were as fresh as can be, but the sweets at their market are worth the trip themselves. Beware, the 6-pack of apple fritters disappear quickly, and the apple caramel bread doesn't last long either. Bonus for the littles: petting zoo and playground!

Baugher's is such a great, family-friendly adventure! This past weekend, we went and picked cherries and it was amazing! We arrived around 1pm and there was still PLENTY of cherries available to pick. I also love the market with fresh produce, Jams, salsas, pies, etc. There are also TWO playgrounds which our kids love. And lastly, there's a free petting zoo which again our kids love. You can purchase food for the animals at the market for $1 a bag (and a play is plenty of food). The main reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, is that it quickly becomes a pricey experience. You have to pay to ride on the wagon that takes you to the field, which is $4 per person. You cannot get to the pick-your-own crops without the wagon. So in addition to the wagon tickets, you have to purchase the containers to pick your fruit (which is pretty typical). For example, this past weekend I spent $46 on this ($16 for the wagon ride for 4, and $30 for the 1/2 peck container for cherries).

For my first apple picking experience ever we headed over to Baugher's Orchard based on reviews I had seen online. We went two weeks before Halloween and this place was packed. You have to wait in a very long line in order to purchase a band and bag for apple picking (or pumpkins if you go that route). I would say we stood in line for about an hour. I would imagine this may be a difficult wait for families with small children because there is nothing really to do or look at as you wait, and it is right next to the main road through the farm. They had a tractor that took you out to the apples, and that convenience was awesome. They dropped us off in the orchard and gave us some basic info about picking apples. I wish we would have gone earlier in the season because a majority of the trees no longer had any apples. Many of the ones left had holes or rotten areas. You can even see from my photo how many apples were on the ground versus in the trees. The other thing is we wish that they had some descriptions on what the types of apples were. All the apples were types we were unfamiliar with so it felt like we were picking blindly and hoping they would taste good in the recipes we had in mind. I know you can call ahead and ask what variety are being picked that day, and that may be a good choice for next time so we could do more research. Overall we had fun, and they clearly have a busy operation on this family farm, but next time I would go much much earlier in the season.

Definitely worth the trip! My advice- get there EARLY! We went to Baugher's on a nice fall day only an hour after they opened. The lines were pretty long, mostly for the pumpkin patch which we were not doing. We went apple picking which was great. Other orchards require non-refundable reservations which seemed like more of a headache to me. We had a great time and never had to wait long to catch the trolly to/from the apple picking area. We were able to pick Fuji, Evercrisp, and Golden Delicious apples- but as others mention, check out their website to see what you can pick. After picking, we went down to the market which had music, scarecrow making, food trucks, the market itself (apples, fall baked goods, jarred goods, etc), and some other kid-friendly attractions. We picked up a few items including apple cider donuts, apple cider, chocolate peanut butter fudge, and some small pumpkins. I thought the selection of these items were great. It was crowded for 10am on a Sunday but the weather was nice and none of the lines we were in were unbearable. I liked that there were some kids activities but overall it kept the feel true to a real working farm/orchard. We will definitely keep this on our fall list of go-to activities! We also might be back to pick our own strawberries in the summer too!

Absolutely no social distancing and very long waiting times!
    Nat R.

Social distancing is not possible! On their website, they pride themselves of following Covid-19 "state guidelines". This is not true! How can people keep social distance if the farm doesn't limit the number of people going in at any one time? We went there on Saturday, October 3rd, 2020. There were hundreds of people in the farm, most of them waiting in line to either go to the patch or purchase something. Multiple employees were mask-less. We had to leave immediately.

We just had to spend a little extra time picking which actually made it a little bit more fun. Wagons are available to pull your buckets so you and the kids don't have to carry them. The signage for the types of blueberries and blackberries and raspberries are adequate. I can see how parking will be a little more difficult during the busy times. Bathrooms are on site that they are a little bit primitive. She was as sweet as the peaches she offered so I went over to her tent later on in the evening and was greeted by her and her equally adorable sister. They both pointed out a lonely carton of raspberries that seemed to whisper, "take me home." It was not the wine talking, it was the assertive, yet kind sales pitch and the freshness of the goods - "picked this morning!" These sisters are good! "Try one little grape, they are delicious!" I did. And they were. Sold! Raspberries and Peaches and Grapes. Oh my! I made sure to grab their brochure so I can visit their family farm soon. Hayride in the pumpkin patch? Oh, heck yeah!

The staff was extremely friendly. The hard cider slushy was sooo good. I also enjoyed the cherry hard cider as well. I also got the apple cider doughnuts and a cup of cold cider. Both were yummy. The cider was so good that I grabbed a half gallon jug from inside the market area. We also loved seeing the animals, the photo areas, the slide, and the hayride. Walked around the market area as well and noticed so many different items: pasta sauces, jams, baked goods, etc. All looked delicious. I only took a star away for the lack of cleaning of the tables by the snack around. I saw workers picking up trash off the ground but the tables needed some love. There was at least on table there that no one sat at because it badly needed to be wiped off and it was attracting bees because of how sticky it had become. Now that I know the deal about how great Weber's is, I'll definitely be back for cider.
