Bill has great taste and knowledge about pre-war buildings and period-correct details. He has a talented team of plumbers, painters, and carpenters, in addition to his own multi-faceted abilities as a designer and contractor. He steered us toward solid purchases with respect to appliances. And he is super-responsive any time we need something fixed, replaced, or just need advice on something. He's also a very decent guy and a pleasure to be around. Our broker recommended Bill as an honest guy who had done work in similar buildings. 7 years later, we are very happy with the apartment he renovated for us.

A fairly basic room has become a beautiful space thanks to their very high quality work. We had Fine Custom Carpentry install a solid wood counter and shelves to create a bar area for a drinks fridge, as well as a show-stopper of a cabinet/bookshelf built-in along our living room wall. Jason was a pleasure to work with. He was responsive to my many design changes, editing drawings and plans until things were just right. He made good suggestions, and we definitely benefitted from his many years of experience. He and Caitlyn even worked over the weekend to complete our project after encountering an unexpected installation challenge, which they calmly and professionally figured out. Their focus on making sure everything was done thoroughly and correctly was very appreciated. Ultimately, we just couldn't be happier!

This small grassy area was an eye sore with dead bushes and weeds. Manuel and his crew removed the dead bushes and weeds from the grassy area, framed it out to create a concrete boarder, then added pavers in the center exactly how we asked. He very accommodating, listened to our ideas snd worked with us to transform this area. In the back he not only did a great job creating a concrete space we can now use as a patio but also removed an old wooden deck we had in the back that really needed to go. He also resurfaced the foundation wall surrounding the house. Manuel and his crew were professional and easy to work with. His price was competitive and at the end of the day my property was left clean and neat. I recommend them and will be using them again in the spring for more work needed on our home.

It's right around the corner from his work and many of his coworkers have used Mendoza and we're happy with them. We stopped out on a Saturday afternoon. The young lady was very helpful and gave us a lot of information, including pricing upfront. We went out back to find a slab and she was patient with me as I insisted at looked at every slab and ended up picking the first she suggested. We selected our edge cut and sink type and wrote the contract. The installers were just as efficient. They showed up on time to measure and install and worked quickly and professionally. Since we were going to a below mount sink, they even suggested we move our water turn offs so we could still access them after! Very helpful! We are so happy with our new counters!

I went in looking for a piece of marble for a shower seat I'm building. The lady, who later told me…read moreshe was the owner's mother, was very helpful in showing me all the types of marble, and going through pricing with me. She estimated $180 plus tax. I told her I would email her son to confirm order. I emailed Lucas Olivera the interaction I had with the lady in his showroom and all the details of my needs. He thanked me for my business and sent me an estimate for a little over $200. I didn't mind it much. The estimate also stated "the color I have is pure white quartz." Colors have strange names so I paid no mind and in later emails I always referred to the piece as marble. He ignored my wording and from there on referred to it as "the piece." I asked for pictures to make sure it was what I wanted, but when I realized he was never going to send them I put the order in anyway. I went to pick up the piece to find he had made it from engineered quartz. I hated it. I couldn't take it. He told me he stated quartz, so I looked back on the emails and saw how he had worded it. Thinking it was a simple misunderstanding, I asked if we could do the piece in marble like I've been asking from the very beginning. He emailed me that marble is more expensive and would be $430. What a waste of time! First he makes my order in whatever he wanted ignoring my request, charges me the same amount his mother estimated for marble, and then tries to charge me over double the price. I went to Rockaway Granite and Marble $160.
