The only thing I regret about going here is that I didn't write this review much sooner because this place deserves 5+++++ stars. Sure, go online and I'm sure you can find places to get the same batteries about the same price from a dozen places, so how do you know where to go? You to the place that goes ABOVE & BEYOND what any customer should/would expect to provide A++++ customer service. Remember the days when all locally owned businesses had that "small town/everybody knows your name" type of service and relationship with their customers? It's MORE than that at Battery One. I needed to get replacement batteries for my motorized scooter before I flew out of the country early the next day. The batteries I need aren't normally in stock at battery places so I was relieved to find they had them, but would be closing in an hour. GPS said it was a 45 min drive, so I jumped in the car but it was rush hour so traffic was bad. When I called from the road, they assured me they'd stay open until I got there. I finally arrived right at closing time and bought the batteries. Because I had never put in batteries before, they kindly offered to do it for me even though they were now closed. He got some tools, took out all the screws in the battery case but it wouldn't open. We both looked to see if there was a screw he missed, a secret clasp or some trick that he/we missed but no luck!!! The only thing he thought might work was to drill out the screw holes in front so it would release, however, he didn't have a drill in the store. He said the Home Depot, which was about 10 mins away, would probably do it for me for free and that he'd even wait for me to go there and back since I was in such a bind. I almost wept! By the time I got to Home Depot, got help and came back, another 30 mins had passed. As he patiently changed out the old batteries, we chatted casually and I found out he wasn't the owner but he knew that the owner wouldn't mind him keeping the store open to help. He also said he was supposed to be playing at a softball game right then but he didn't mind being late. Wow. I felt terrible. But SO impressed by his kindness. After he put the batteries in and made sure the cover was back on the best he could, he even waited for me to take a quick ride around on my scooter to make sure everything was working before he helped me load the scooter back into my car. It was an hour and 15 mins after closing, but he gave me a warm friendly smile and wished me a safe drive home. OMG! You'll never get this level of care and service from a box store or Walmart. Like I said, batteries are batteries. But this kind of service is unheard of! Thank you Battery One. THANK YOU! read more

I tend to need batteries often. In fact, I often have a need for a wide variety of batteries, and, at times, for a large number of large batteries. This is because one of the hats that I wear in this life is that of a research and consulting scientist/engineer, and lots of devices, gizmos and systems that I design or need to fabricate need batteries. On top of that, since I live in a very rural area where utility AC power failures are frequent and sometimes prolonged, years ago I designed and installed at my home a solar-assisted off-grid emergency power battery backup system that can provide backup AC power to my home for up to 20 days of utility AC power outage. As you can imagine, ths extensive power backup system uses a LOT of very large deep cycle storage batteries. I also have poultry in a large fenced area in my yard, and because of the wide variety of predators out here in the mountains that would love to get at my birds, the pens are surrounded by a 5 foot tall fence protected by numerous strands of electric fencing wire. And, because there is always lots of wet underbrush, along with weeds, trying to sap power from my electric fence, I use a very powerful electric fence charger, along with several powerful backup fence chargers. Due to frequent power failures that occur where I live, the electric fencer charger and the backup fence chargers need to have large backup batteries to provide power during all of the power failures. I also frequently need batteries for the alarms/devices that monitor the electric fence status 24 hours per day. Guess where I buy over 95% of the batteries -- large and small, small quantities or large quantities -- that I need to purchase for my work and for use in my home-and-yard projects? At this Battery One shop in Frederick, MD, even though, since I live in a remote rural mountainous area, it is a 25-plus minute drive to reach this shop. I have been purchasing batteries, battery chargers, cables, cable connectors, and other battery-related accessories at this shop since 1992, and I have found the breadth and width of their stock of in-stock items to be very impressive, and have consistently found their staff to be very helpful. And, whenever I have needed to purchase large quantities of special batteries (including large deep cycle power storage batteries), items that are not normally stocked at the shop, I have always found the manager of the shop. Chris, to be very helpful, and very willing to order for me the batteries that I specify directly from the manufacturer. Better, he always manages to procure the special-order batteries quickly, and at a very impressive low price. So, the bottom line is that this shop deserves 5 stars, hands down! Whenever I have any battery needs, and, believe me, I have lots of battery needs, this is the first place that I call. read more

Battery One beats Costco in four ways. I have bought batteries from Battery One for years. Always happy with results. I am otherwise a loyal and happy customer of Costco for all kinds of things so I decided to make two phone calls. I got a quote from Costco and Battery One for my 2015 Volvo. Battery One quoted 40% less and provided a longer warranty. Battery One replaces battery in car for free. Costco hands you the battery for you to install. So once again, I went to Battery One and was quickly told if the "Low Battery" message came to the dash, it was most likely the key fob. They checked both and the key fob needed two nickel sized batteries. The main car battery was fine. They replaced the fob batteries for just the cost of the batteries. If I had gone to Costco, I would have removed the battery from the car to get the core-charge refund and either bought a new unneeded car battery, or had them check it only to reinstalled the same battery back it the Volvo. Hopefully Costco would have figured out that I only need a key fob battery, but based on my phone call to get a quote, I doubt it. read more

After an afternoon of futile searching for an external battery charging port for an older cell phone battery, I came into Battery One in desperation, hoping that at least they would know where I might get one. The cheerful, helpful staff said that they carry many cell phone batteries. But as my problem was a fried charging port on the phone itself, I told them I needed an external charger, which had stymied T Mobile, Walmart, and Best Buy, and like magic a universal plug-in charger appeared for only about 10.00! It took an overnight charging, but it came up to 95%, more than adequate to get my data transferred to a new phone. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone with battery problems of ANY kind! read more

I needed a new car battery and stopped in at Battery One. They were able to test my battery to confirm it was dying and replace it with a new one within a few minutes. The battery was less expensive than other places I checked and they replaced it for me which other places weren't willing to do. The guys in the shop were friendly and efficient and offer a five year warranty on the battery. read more

Support this small business. Got an American made (in Pennsylvania)Deka battery for my '06 Honda. Battery comes with a five year warranty, and I can stop by the store if I have problems. I doubt if I need to though. I was back on the road in less than 20 mins. read more
