He takes it behind the counter and puts in a new battery. I don't even have the car with me. I go to the register and I get charged a $15 battery installation fee. I could've bought two batteries for $999. I told the employee that you should tell people before doing the service that it's going to cost money. He says most people know when they come in. I feel very deceived. I could easily put my own battery in the key fob when I've already opened it to take the old battery out. Instead, I get one battery and pay 1.5 times the amount for what would've been the cost for two batteries. Dani, the female employee at the Rockville store is extremely rude saying "you ruined the batteries", "you made a mistake", "that is your problem", and "you cannot believe everything you read". I purchased a total of 6 batteries for my RV. The the two batteries that start the RV did not work. The store said that the warranty does not cover the battery and that I can purchase two new batteries. The batteries were less that 3 weeks old and were not installed until the day before I took them back to the store. Last resort to get a battery that you can't find at other places, for a steep price. The car fob for our parent's car started to act wonky (wouldn't unlock the car after multiple attempts, but then work fine later), so figured it was time for a new battery. The absolute best place to get replacement battery is through Amazon, but it wouldn't be delivered in time, so we had to buy it ASAP. We went to CVS and Walmart, and neither had it. This location was the nearest one (closer ones must have closed since we last tried to find one). We had the battery number from the FOB, and one of the staff helped me quickly find the right one (I had already verified that they carried it online before I came). The price was about 2.5X more than what it was sold on Amazon, which actually a better price than buying it from CVS. The absolute cheapest place would be from a dollar store, but wouldn't trust it for something like a FOB. read more

Have had "hit or miss" with this store. Often very good but last time, a few weeks ago went in with GF for battery for old garage door opener. I believe it was Rick who started to help us when some guy comes in, interrupts and blurts out questions and Rick abandoned us to take care of him. Left standing there. What's up with that? Expected Rick to politely tell the new guy that he'd be with him after we were done. didn't happen. Didn't make an issue of it as seems to happen lots of places. Think employees should be instructed to politely set rude people in their place. Seems manners were skipped by some parents. When Rick got back to us, he tried opening the opener but broke it. I bought the battery anyways and managed to get it put back together and now works. I just expected a better experience. Rick pleasant but service not like other times I've been there. Unfortunately, there isn't a ZERO star option....they don't deserve any! BUYER BEWARE- DO NOT SHOP HERE ! I went to do a return at this location and because I had fraud on my credit card and their policy according to the store manger is that the refund has to go on the EXACT card that was used, they wouldn't issue a refund. The credit card company cancelled my card , I don't even have it! I offered to just spend the $$ in the store and they refused to allow that as well. I called Corporate and they contacted the owner who after some time told them that someone would be calling from the store to issue my refund. It's been over a Month and I still don't have a refund. I have made 4 calls, 1 to the store and 3 to Corporate and they just keep putting me off and tell me that "they are looking into it." The owner nor Corporate care at all one bit about their customers. I have given them ample opportunity to handle my return and I hesitated to post here because I wanted them to resolve the situation but I am convinced that they aren't even competent enough to figure it out. Corporate has no idea what the franchise stores are doing and clearly the franchisee is an absentee owner who doesn't resolve customer issues. I get it, everyone is short staffed and it is difficult right now...I have been more than patient with them but am over it at this point. Thought out of the box . I was very impressed with her service, as was he. When she got to me, she gave me the same wonderful service. She handled everyone with knowledge, and incredible customer service and in my case honesty! I had been told by Phone Mart on Meacham there was something wrong with my battery and he told me he could order a battery, but phone was cheep and repairs would not be economical and tried to sell me a new one. So with that premise I went to, I Fix Clinic, in Elk Grove, and Fast Geekz in Palatine. Both were very nice, but told me they could not get that battery from their suppliers only looking up the Model #. They did not check the phone otherwise to check to see if what I was told was true. Only Alissa at Batteries Plus actually looked at the phone to assess why it was on battery saver and what could be wrong. I am going to watch it for a few days. I hope she is correct. Point is her dedication to her customers is beyond excellent. She also knew where her stock was for other customers and juggled us all nicely. I just had to take the time to write an update to this dated review as this business came through for me in particularly clutch fashion on a morning I was on the verge of losing my mind. So we had a morning about a month back which was the coldest of the winter thus far and the temps were well below zero (even more retched with wind chill added). When I got out to my car that morning my battery was dead as a doornail. And I mean REALLY dead. Nothing electric worked. Even my keyless entry failed and I had to use the emergency back up key. So, ummm, yeah, not a good morning. Calling AAA when they were already overwhelmed from many other people in a similar situation and then freezing my balls off outside as it was being jumped put me in a quite foul mood. To make matters worse after AAA got it started initially it died again at a stoplight on Higgins Road. So imagine me sitting there with a dead car during rush hour on Higgins with a zillion pissed off people behind me laying on their horn. I was about to come unglued. Fortunately Hoffman PD happened along shortly after that and again jumped the car. By now I was pissed off, and flooring the accelerator and going crazy on the clutch for fear that if the RPMs got too low it would die on me again. I had remembered my previous positive experiences at this store and I prayed as I rolled into their parking lot that they would be able to help me out. Fortunately my luck changed after I got there. They had the battery for my car in stock, on sale, and it even had a manufacturer rebate too. The gentleman behind the counter braved the elements and installed the new battery in my car outside on the spot. I brought my phone in this morning for a new screen. I was told 1 hour. I waited in my car one and a half hours and then was told he was really sorry but my home and back buttons were now not working. He said they could go to another store and get a part and repair those. Long story, after four and one half hours, seriously, 8am until 12:30pm. The phone is so messed up right now. When you can actually get the screen to respond to your touch, the keyboard goes crazy and starts sending multiple letters on its own. I cant text because the keyboard will start sending multiple letters in a row and not allow me to delete. This mess cost me over $200 and now I am forced to go purchase a new phone. I phone 6 Battery died when I was in town for a wedding. Made an appointment for 10:30. When I arrived, I was told technician wouldn't be there until 11. And then it would take at least an hour to fix it. The clerk then went into help an elderly gentleman with watch battery replacement. The clerk was very aggressive into pushing a lifetime replacement battery program to which the buyer finally relented. When the clerk got back to me he said that it wasn't a big deal that I would wait another 15 minutes and proceeded to the store room for another wait. When he came back he was abrupt when asking me questions. I decided that this store didn't deserve my business nor did I trust their service in that they might try to sell me more that just my battery. I told clerk he was too rude to deal with. This is a great place. They are not only the only place that carries a battery for my Blackberry Curve 9360, but also the people who know the technical details and provide excellent customer service. Larry is a great guy, who generously gave me a 10% discount after a rude customer insisted that he pick up his battery first, knowing I was there before him. I am on a business trip with a dead cell battery, and hence a Blackberry that turned into a brick. This is probably my 3rd time in this store. I absolutely LOVE the concept of these stores. I bring in anything that requires a funky-size battery, the employee opens my device, finds the right battery, and installs it. Perfection! This time I brought in a recordable storybook that was very special to my girls. Their grandma recorded this for them and has since passed. The employee opened the book and lo and behold, it was AAA batteries. I could have done that myself! So he puts new batteries in and it is not working. I am starting to get anxious and ask him if he can please try again because this book was made by someone that passed away. He takes the new batteries out and says the old ones corroded or actually exploded. He proceeds to clean the battery port and then puts the new batteries in. It works! Called to get information on getting the back glass replaced on my Galaxy S7 Edge. Was told that it was not in-stock and to setup an appointment online for at least 3 days in advance to make sure that they received the part in time. No problem on my end, and I setup the appointment for the following week (5 business days) to give them enough time to get the part in. On the day of the appointment, I showed up. The employee was by themselves and clearly overwhelmed. I was patient and waited for him to finish with all customers before me. Once they started working with me, we went though a half hour check in process with my device where I had to tell them how to perform several of the tests on my android device. At this point, I became worried about letting him work on my device. Once we finished, I asked to see the part that they were going to use on my phone. He goes in back for awhile and comes back out and says that they don't have the part in stock. I would think that this would be the first thing that they check if they are going to work on a phone instead of wasting my time. They then asked if I wanted them to order the part and reschedule the appointment. At this point I've seen enough and said no. Over the phone, he asked for my phone's model #. He said that he didn't have it in stock, but that the Glen Ellyn store had it. I was thinking, great.... 10 inches of snow, maybe I'll drive to Glen Ellyn over the weekend. But before the thought had time to crystalize in my mind, he said that someone would be coming over from Glen Ellyn and he would have them bring one, and it would be there in the afternoon. About an hour later, there was a message on my answering machine that the battery was in. The battery came with all of the tools I needed to replace the battery and great instructions. Call ahead to make sure they have 1) your battery in stock and 2) enough people onhand to get your cellphone battery swapped out. My iPhone 4s battery was dying, and phone is in perfect condition. I won't upgrade. They had part in and 2 guys in to have 1 work front and other to fix phones. Less then 30 minutes, and all done and paid for. A bit expensive $60 + tax, but comes with 6 month warranty. No issues so far, and they appear to be able to fix all kinds of cell phone issues. read more

I'm writing this 5 star review without hesitation and honestly I'm so grateful and relieved that the staff here was able to splice back together my wire cord for my retro wall adapter to my jukebox Samsung phone. Early this morning I noticed my dwarf rabbit had chewed right through my phone charger and I called them up hoping they might have an old phone adapter for sale. I was encouraged to come in right away and they suggested I wait just eight minutes so they could splice back together the copper wire pieces that my bunny chewed up. They can splice cut up wire here for you as you wait and now I have a working phone charger for my Samsung jukebox phone because of these wonderful people. Everyone here is patient, knows how to listen, problem shoot and present you with courteous excellent service no matter what phone you bring in for repair. I was only charged about $8 for their prompt service so I highly recommend everyone come here first because it's cost effective and very prompt. This is my 6th visit here because slide from phone repairs they have a large selection of led lights and tiny bulbs if you need replacement bulbs for your Himalayan s as let lamps. While they have a lot of batteries, and can order more batteries, so the sales process is pretty good. But the service is not. I recently had them order a battery for my GPS. When I ordered it I was led to believe that installation would not be an issue, and they would be happy to install it. When I picked it up, I dealt with the Manager/Owner, who is only wanting to sell. He did not offer to install at all, and when I asked, I was told they could not do it right away, and it would be $30 to install. A big change from when I was in before. The new car key service is a complete joke. Noone has any clue what they are doing. Ordered my new key+fob back in Nov '18, it's currently mid March '19. It was for a brand and model of car advertised on their website. Went 4 times there and spent at least an hour every time and every time there was something wrong either with the programmer or the key they ordered was the wrong one... Last time i went there i left with the promise of someone to give me a call few days later with a final word of whether they can do it or not...(left also with a check engine light ON, after all the "expert" programming that was being attempted, which even though it wasnt a big issue i had to spend more time to go and have the error deleted). That happened about a month ago and i ended up calling them to cancel the order. DON'T waste your time and just go some place else where people know what they are doing. read more
