I'm one of those people who still wears a watch, and I needed a new battery. I found this place as none of the local jewelers were open on a Sunday. It's a small building just off of Broad Street. The watch replacement counter was busy, but I only had to wait a couple of minutes to be helped. Other customers were getting the batteries in their key fobs replaced (I never would have thought to go anywhere besides the dealership for that). I opted for the $24 lifetime replacement, which was only $8 more than the regular battery replacement. Now that's a novel idea!! I had never been to this tiny shop dedicated to batteries and lightbulbs, but I'm glad I came here! (I had just left a lamp shop where I had a light fixture repaired, and the repair man tried to charge me $10 for a broken bulb. So I left and said I'm going to Lowe's.). Hubby and I passed this bright green shop and I said, let's try there!! Little did I know that they had almost every bulb imaginable stocked! Edison would be proud! The guy there was very helpful in locating the unusual bulb I needed, although he was less than enthusiastic about his job, he knew his stuff. The bulb I purchased was 1/2 the price than the lamp shop! My hubby ordered a new key fob for his car, which would take about a week to make, and the price was reasonable! I milled around and saw they stocked car batteries, motorcycle batteries, and many more sizes of batteries beyond the typical ones you find at most places! They also carry flashlights and lanterns, key chains, and small tools. I wondered how a specialty store like this stayed in business, but now I know... great quality, hard to find items, good service, and reasonable prices! Arrived for the appointment and was told they did t have the charging port in stock and it would be several days before it would be in stock. I needed new batteries ASAP for my bike spoke lights for Halloween a couple Fridays ago and this was the only place I knew that would have the batteries I needed. I needed those flat circular batteries, no idea what size or battery power but I just showed them an old one and they knew exactly what I was looking for. I am not sure if this is true for all types of batteries they carry but for 10 batteries for my spoke lights it was $30!! That was very expensive.. or maybe I just don't know the current going rate. Sometimes YouTube is a great help to tell you how to fix a problem. Thank goodness there was Batteries Plus Bulbs to fix 8 year old granddaughter's electric scooter. I bought the batteries thinking I could handle the installation. Who knew how difficult reattaching terminals, connecting wires so they actually stayed in place, and testing to make sure when the sparks flew I didn't destroy the battery. When it came time to pay, I heard "you bought the batteries from us, no charge". I wouldn't allow it and gave the store owner a $20 tip. Service like this is often hard to find. 2nd Issue, what LED lights do you use for a Living Room end table lamp? We like 3 way. Had them! Also come with a 5 year warranty. The ones we get from the "big box" stores always burn out at the top level, reading light. "If these burn out, bring them back--we'll replace them." My cell phone number was recorded to start the warranty. Don't mind a text at all for that level of service and guarantee. Keep Batteries Plus Bulbs in mind for your next electronic issue. The name speaks for itself. This place literally has batteries and bulbs for anything and everything. Watch batteries to car batteries. Long lasting led bulbs to vintage bulbs. If they don't have it in stock, they can get it shipped from another store or order it. They also do a lot of repairs/ maintenance on cell phones, tablets, watches and a few other things. Because they do a lot of maintenance fixes on the spot, the line often tends to get a little backed up. So anytime I go there, I try to go really early or late in the day. Aside from that, my only other complaint is that though they carry major brands, their prices are a little higher than what you'll find in Walmart or some place like that. But on the flip side, I assume the price is higher because this is a one stop shop and I believe they offer warranties on all of their products. read more

I made an appointment online with this location on upper west broad street to fix my shattered IPhone screen and when I went in person they didn't have it saying they had to get it transferred from a different store. Ok, they told me within 2 days it should be there. 2 days pass and I go back it's still not there and they never once called to inform me of anything. So in the mean time I began hunting other stores that could do the same thing and at an even cheaper price. Handed the gentleman my bump and he walked me right to it. I saw this happen for most others that entered as well. The car battery on my Toyota 4Runner died today at the car wash near Batteries Plus and across from a Toyota dealership. Because I needed my car to be fixed immediately, I went to Batteries Plus rather than the dealership after my car was jumped. I was seen promptly, and my battery, although leaking acid and not functioning, was cleaned and tested. I was surprised that I wasn't just offered the first battery on the shelf right away. The gentleman who was helping me tested my battery (it failed), explained why it failed, and then told me my options. The battery that was best for my car was $76 plus a $10 installation fee. I had the option to get a cheaper, less powerful battery. The battery also came with an 18 month warranty. The gentleman was very professional in his installation. The entire process probably took about 20 minutes or less. Although I hope my battery never dies on me again, I'd gladly go back to Batteries Plus. They also have other batteries - laptop, camera, disposables, and battery recycling. read more

What a rip off charged $7.36 for $.50 battery and 10 seconds to switch it out I will never go back

I am completely disappointed in this store. I placed an on-line order to be picked up at the store later in the day. My plan was to save time in searching for the specific batteries I needed in a great pack of 6. I placed the order, providing payment information and assumed that all was well. What a surprise when i received a phone call to say they did not have the ordered batteries in stock. They were willing to sell me a 2 pack for quite a bit more, but through some discussions with the manager and the sales associate, they were able to figure out a 'commercial price' compromise. Still not the same as the on-line system price, so that is why I am not impressed at all with this on-line option with no connection with reality. read more

Make sure you watch what you ask for. I stopped in needing some batteries for my car key fob. Not wanting to go to a dealership to avoid unnecessary charges. Unfortunately the young over-zealous employee took my request for a couple of batteries to the next level and actually installed them for me... something I thought would be a courtesy. $9.95 later, I was left scratching my head as to why I wasn't made aware of this up front. Truthfully, one star is generous. Made an appointment online for cell phone service. Scheduled appointment at 6:00 for 7:00 appointment. At 6:55 received call telling me that tech was leaving at 7:00. I advised I was two minutes away, so I would arrive before my scheduled appointment. Arrived and was told they rescheduled appointment to next day. Asked for manager's name and was reluctantly told Philip. Asked for card, etc. and was told not available. The tech came out and told me he could work on phone but would take 1 to 1/2 hours. I indicated that would be ok. He then indicated they did not have battery in stock. This is very confusing to me why BP would have an online appointment system that is obviously up to their discretion to reschedule appointment. In addition, the appointment scheduling system asked for phone specs (I.e IPhone model #). I think it Is a reasonable expectation that if you are making appointment the parts would be in stock. Bottomline, "service" was deplorable and my opinion is BP is attempting to portray as a repair option. They need to stick to batteries as there is NO plus. read more

Ordered a replacement battery for my Verizon back up, using the online-pick-up-in-store option to take advantage of the 10% discount off the already lower price than Verizon was going to charge me. (Verizon had notified me by email that my back up battery needed replacing and the system had started beeping at the Verizon box.) When I arrived, I was promptly given my new battery and, the best part, they tested my old battery and determined that it didn't need to be replaced; likely a bad Verizon box. Without me even asking, they started the process to refund my money for the new battery.
