Selection wasn't as great as we hoped for and none of the men who worked there wore masks, even when speaking to customers.

I wholeheartedly recommend Valley Counter Fitter (VCF) based on their excellent customer service…read moreand the finished product. Here's how my experience has been with them. We've been renovating our bathrooms and have been looking for something that's unfortunately quite out of style and thus hard to find: integrated countertops. Integrated countertops are awesome for cleaning because the sinks are seamlessly embedded in the countertop. There are no rims for the muck nor the soap to get stuck against. They are very hard to shop for, for two reasons: few places still offer them, and while a lot of design options are available across several brands (namely Corian, Wilson-Art and Hi-Macs), only a few samples at a time are usually available. Regarding the vendor options near Los Angeles, it pretty much boils down to Home Depot, VCF, and a third place that never returned my calls. After investigating Home Depot, it became apparent that they are using a third party named Block Tops, which is getting so-so reviews. I called Block Tops several times, only managed to speak with their sales rep once, and could never get anyone to return my calls, so that was the end of that. In complete contrast, VCF was easy to reach and Daniel, their office manager, returned my calls every time. Regarding the options, VCF has a lot of samples to help you visualize your countertop; many more than I've seen at Home Depot. They also have a lot more sink options, which is really important for integrated countertops. It is really worth driving to their workshop for that, and to visualize all the way they can finish the edge of the countertop. Moreover, Daniel has deep subject matter expertise and is able to help based on your requirements. He's very patient and willing to answer all your questions, down to how they put together the countertop. He can give you a quote on the spot, and advise on how to keep your cost down. Note that VCF also offers the other, more popular materials, like granite, etc. Process-wise, it takes a few weeks for Daniel to come over and measure your cabinet. Then another three weeks for the installer to return and do the work. What I loved about Daniel was his commitment to customer satisfaction. Our first order was for a 72" vanity countertop with dual sinks, and one sink was slightly out of alignment. I notified Daniel, sent a few pics, and immediately (and without any need to argue) Daniel told me he would make it right. Note that this required coming over, removing the countertop, ordering an entire new slab, working it, etc. In the process, Daniel also allowed us to switch material for the countertop and also the sinks. The man is amazing. We've had our new countertops for a few months now. No problem to report. We love them, and we love how easy they are to maintain. In my opinion, they imitate natural stone so well, and there a so many options, it's a bit baffling to me that people bother with other options, but to each its own. What's sure is that I will be going straight to VCF next time I need countertops, which will probably be for my kitchen.

We hired this team for a major structural renovation--adding a loft in our high-ceiling living…read moreroom, building a wet bar underneath it, and replacing our kitchen's back door and window with a beautiful bifold door. (Note: The furniture bar cabinets and library were added later on and were not part of this contractor's project). From start to finish, the entire team was extremely professional, dedicated, and highly skilled. On the very first day we met, Nir helped design a 3D view of the project that perfectly captured exactly what we had envisioned. Throughout the build, we had a weekly walkthrough with Nir to check if we had any questions or concerns, which kept communication incredibly clear. Elba was also an excellent project coordinator who was always available to answer our questions and keep everything on track daily. The construction crew themselves were clearly very experienced and knowledgeable; they followed our approved plans meticulously and were happy to accommodate extra requests along the way. You can truly gauge the quality of their work by the fact that every single city inspector visit passed on the first try--nothing ever had to be rescheduled or redone because everything was built perfectly to plan. Additionally, all of the finishes--from the drywalling to the trim work and paint--were done with high-quality materials and top-tier craftsmanship. Overall, it was a great experience, and we highly recommend them!

I was first referred to Preferred Builders by my tax preparer, Happily, my first repair/remodel turned out wonderfully so I immediately started a remodel on my own home. Scope of work: remove all the carpeting in the house and install laminate plank flooring in those areas. The travertine flooring in the entry, kitchen and hallway had large craters which collected dirt and water residue after washing. I had the floor steamed, the craters filled and the whole floor resealed. I had a gasline installed in the kitchen and a new gas oven installed. I also had a complete bathroom remodel which included removing a huge jacuzzi tub and installing an elegant and safe walk in shower. For the bathroom Nir listened to my concerns and needs and then gave me two 3-D renderings of my options. Elba was fabulous and fast with permits, a purchase list and provided weekly job schedules and updates. I have now completed this remodel and I can't be happier. My Preferred Builders team was pure gold! I highly recommend Nir, Elba and Orel, the Foreman. Orel was caring and his experience was invaluable, Roman, (drywall, moldings, paint, flooring) Carlo (beautiful tile work) and Abnir were all professional, caring and kind. My remodel was reasonable and fast. I definitely recommend Preferred and I already have.

I I have to say Harry and Rob exceeded our expectations …read more aside from being professional. They have a wonderful team of craftsman that work with them. I was really impressed that they were able to remove the phone jack from the backsplash and fill in patterned tile which we had luckily stored. This was after the original installer said it couldn't be done. You would not be able to tell, amazing. Prices were fair, attention to detail was way above average. I am glad I listened to my neighbor recommended who recommended .If you are looking to update your kitchen or bath please consider Balboa Flooring & Kitchen.

After researching endlessly and meeting with multiple contractors, receiving many bids (some…read morerequired high deposits to even see a design!) and timelines that seemed to make things more confusing and stressful, the renovation gods sent Rob and Harry our way! TLDR: honest guys who did the job with integrity and finished on time and on budget. If you are contemplating a renovation project, you need to go to Balboa Flooring & Kitchen. From the initial meeting with Harry when he came to the house for our consultation, we hit it off right away. Harry took measurements and asked important questions like, how do we use the space, and what were we looking for with the remodel. We met a few days later and spoke about different design ideas, what our style was, and the most important part...discussed a realistic budget! Over the next few days, we connected over Pinterest and shared pages, and within a few days, a basic design was sent to us at no charge, unlike many other places. After finding the design that fit our style, a comprehensive bid was submitted (no surprises here). And like most people, our initial wish list was above our budget. But Harry and Rob sat with us and rather than discouraging our wants/needs, they simply said many times, "let's try to get you what you want" and worked with us to make different choices and limit the scope to our budget without sacrificing quality or the layout that we so badly wanted. During the renovation, we opted to live in the house (I do NOT recommend this!), because it allowed us to stretch the budget. Rob helped with the timeline since it was so close to the holidays and ultimately we decided to break up the project in two parts; phase 1 started towards end of October and even through the holiday season, their guys were able to finish by the first week of December, one week ahead of schedule! Phase 2 began the first week of January to ensure there would be no delays, and within 6 weeks the renovation was complete, on schedule. One of the many things we appreciated the most about working with these guys was their integrity. Yes, there were some unforeseen problems with the original design due to structural issues, but rather than telling us to go forward with it or take advantage of us (because it could have been accomplished but it would cost more), Harry provided us with an alternate suggestion that allowed us to stay on budget, and made us feel even better telling us it will still look great, and that he wouldn't recommend spending the extra money (for the original design). I mean, what business ever says that?! Though there were things we thought we wanted, they offered their ideas and expertise, helping us to stay within budget, and providing solutions that were even better than the original design. We trusted Harry and Rob and we couldn't be happier with the results!
