After researching endlessly and meeting with multiple contractors, receiving many bids (some required high deposits to even see a design!) and timelines that seemed to make things more confusing and stressful, the renovation gods sent Rob and Harry our way! TLDR: honest guys who did the job with integrity and finished on time and on budget. If you are contemplating a renovation project, you need to go to Balboa Flooring & Kitchen. From the initial meeting with Harry when he came to the house for our consultation, we hit it off right away. Harry took measurements and asked important questions like, how do we use the space, and what were we looking for with the remodel. We met a few days later and spoke about different design ideas, what our style was, and the most important part...discussed a realistic budget! Over the next few days, we connected over Pinterest and shared pages, and within a few days, a basic design was sent to us at no charge, unlike many other places. After finding the design that fit our style, a comprehensive bid was submitted (no surprises here). And like most people, our initial wish list was above our budget. But Harry and Rob sat with us and rather than discouraging our wants/needs, they simply said many times, "let's try to get you what you want" and worked with us to make different choices and limit the scope to our budget without sacrificing quality or the layout that we so badly wanted. During the renovation, we opted to live in the house (I do NOT recommend this!), because it allowed us to stretch the budget. Rob helped with the timeline since it was so close to the holidays and ultimately we decided to break up the project in two parts; phase 1 started towards end of October and even through the holiday season, their guys were able to finish by the first week of December, one week ahead of schedule! Phase 2 began the first week of January to ensure there would be no delays, and within 6 weeks the renovation was complete, on schedule. One of the many things we appreciated the most about working with these guys was their integrity. Yes, there were some unforeseen problems with the original design due to structural issues, but rather than telling us to go forward with it or take advantage of us (because it could have been accomplished but it would cost more), Harry provided us with an alternate suggestion that allowed us to stay on budget, and made us feel even better telling us it will still look great, and that he wouldn't recommend spending the extra money (for the original design). I mean, what business ever says that?! Though there were things we thought we wanted, they offered their ideas and expertise, helping us to stay within budget, and providing solutions that were even better than the original design. We trusted Harry and Rob and we couldn't be happier with the results! read more

I I have to say Harry and Rob exceeded our expectations . aside from being professional. They have a wonderful team of craftsman that work with them. I was really impressed that they were able to remove the phone jack from the backsplash and fill in patterned tile which we had luckily stored. This was after the original installer said it couldn't be done. You would not be able to tell, amazing. Prices were fair, attention to detail was way above average. I am glad I listened to my neighbor recommended who recommended .If you are looking to update your kitchen or bath please consider Balboa Flooring & Kitchen. read more

The whole process was fairly easy. The work done and the work ethic of Fernando, would be difficult to match. Rob gave me great choices of flooring, all of it high quality. No pressure sales. I explained my living situation, we discussed flooring and my four German shepherds. He showed me my best options for a flooring that would have a long life. They helped me work within my budget and gave me beautiful floors. Any issues were immediately addressed. Fernando is the ultimate perfectionist. There's attention to detail, and answers all our questions during the process. He is simply wonderful, and definitely one of a kind. When it comes time to do my kitchen, this is the only place I would go to. I'd like to thank everyone at Balboa Flooring and Kitchens, for being thoughtful, conscientious, and immediately making me feel like I made at the right choice! We had our kitchen completely renovated and recently our 3 bathrooms redone by the guys at Balboa. The showroom is great for getting ideas and seeing materials all together. Rob is great to work with and will help you get it all together from logistics to help with design. They gave us an itemized invoice and an end date per my request and they got it done. They are reliable and hardworking and I can not recommend their services enough. read more

Balboa Flooring has a lot of beautiful finishes to choose from and their team is skilled and professional (everyone showed up on time and our house renovation finished on schedule) Rob is very thoughtful about what you and your husband want from your house. He and his team added a lot of storage to our tiny house, especially in our kitchen and bathroom areas. Women can really appreciate that. In addition, my husband mentioned we wanted to bolster the security in our home and Rob offered us options we didn't even know existed. After researching several local kitchen and floor contractors, I was fortunate to walk into Balboa Flooring & Kitchen where Harry spent a considerable amount of time reviewing kitchen cabinets and flooring ideas. We set up an appointment at our home, where he personally measured our project, and within a few days had a 3D alternative possibilities with price estimates. Not only was the price extremely competitive with my previous ones, but Harry's expertise and professionalism is priceless. Once our project commenced, Harry was always available and receptive to any questions or concerns I had. His installers are professional, courteous and very clean and respectful. We are so pleased and happy with our kitchen and have received so many compliments. We were looking for tiles for our remodel in West Hills, and some laminate floors. We were gratefully impressed by the huge variety of finishes on display at this place.... Prices were very competitive, [so much that we chose their installation over our contractor's numbers], and we were not disappointed. We had ceramic tile and hardwood flooring in the entire first floor, and wall tiles on two bathrooms. We couldn't be more pleased with the final result. Thru the help of Rob at the store, and the quality of their installers, our project came out beautiful!! read more

We're so happy with our new kitchen, thanks to Rob, Harry, and Gary at Balboa Flooring & Kitchen. The finished product looks amazing, and they were very helpful throughout the entire process. As a first-time homeowner, their support and expert advice were invaluable. When we came to the shop looking for materials, they were attentive but not pushy- we never felt like we were being pressured to make a purchase. We ended up finding a countertop we loved, and even though we purchased backsplash tile elsewhere, they did an excellent job installing both- great craftsmanship and a clean finish. We'll definitely be coming back for our next project. read more

It been 1 month since flooring installation and baseboards was completed. We have around 900 sqft of flooring with around 800 sqft carpet that needed to be removed plus 16 steps. Everything together took 1 week to complete. Francisco the installer is absolutely the hardest worker i ever seen. For 8 hours with an except of 1 hour lunch, he didn't stop moving at full speed. Let me say that again, this worker kept going full speed all 5 days he was here installing the flooring. read more

The place has a really great selection of tile, flooring and fixtures (like door sets, cabinet handles etc..). I've made 3 or 4 purchases from them and each time I've had an excellent experience which compelled me to write this review. My sales associate Rob really took the time to show different options, explain differences between products and walk me through the setup that would work for my house. To boot, their prices were also competitive. Lastly one of the door sets I purchased (Emtek) had a manufacturer's defect. Rob helped me get it replaced under warranty and took-on the hassles of dealing with a manufacturer so i didn't have to. Couldn't be happier with Rob and the whole team! read more
