Our Bathfitter installer, Julian D. and his assistant Ricky came back on Thursday, March 5th (completed our bathtub/shower combo on Tuesday, March 2nd. Review posted on Google) to begin work on our second bathroom. Ray, the Bathfitter plumber, aligned our off centered shower handle and did a great job. All men were courteous, professional and welcomed any questions we had about how the process of installing the bathliner walls would adhere to our 1959 shower wall that had concrete behind it. Ricky was precise in the demolition of the wall and Julian D. was very accurate in his measurements and cuts for this bathroom. I have just used bath fitter for the third time in under 2 years- (3 different properties) The initial representative for this third job was not the best however as soon as I contacted Clay (who I met from the second install), it all came together with efficiency. Clay is personable, efficient and very customer focused. Cam, the installer was beyond pleasant, hardworking and considerate. He is proud of his work and a delight to deal with. I dread having people working in my home but Cam proved to be very unintrusive. He clearly enjoys his job and takes pride in his work. Well done bath fitter for employing the 2 C's- Clay and Cam-LOL! Two weeks after the original install, and my original post, Bath Fitters FINALLY sent the installer out to add the missing pieces at a cost of $300. The next morning I used the shower and the drain was leaking profusely into my basement! WHAT! I called Bath Fitters. Thankfully, sent out a plumber that day and he fixed the leak! It was a VERY frustrating and disappointing experience, but thankfully it is finally finished and working well ... so far. read more

The whole process was great! We had our ancient tub & shower replaced with a walk-in shower with glass doors. From our initial meeting with the salesman Steve, it was all good. Steve was very knowledgeable & helped with our selection process. From the tech that demolished our old tub, the plumber, & the installer, all were a pleasure. They explained everything thoroughly & answered any questions we had. We did have an issue with the water pressure in the bathroom sink being low after the install. We contacted Steve & he got one of their plumbers to come out & take a look. The plumber was able to fix the problem easily. The product itself is pretty pricey and I'm not convinced I got the best deal. As with typical car dealer type sales, fast talking sales man that starts off high, tries to upsell, and when you say you'll walk away, price magically comes down and coupons appear. Be sure to watch billing calculations very closely as I caught a few errors that had to be corrected. That said, overall looks nice, undoubtedly due to the master craftsmanship and saving grace of the expert installer Dillon from the Lombard location. I was very Leary to try them because of a bad review but some people don't take bad reviews down even if everything turned out great. I contracted with BathFitter to install a tub and wall cover system. I had used them previously and was very happy with the results. Working with the Lombard office this time has been one long headache. The system was installed on 2/28/22 resulting in water damage to the kitchen below it. As of 8/15/22, they have still not completed the repairs for the damage they caused to my home. I have called them dozens of times to schedule estimates and repairs. There is always an excuse why they have to call me back. They don't call me back. When I call again, I get more lies about how they will get right back to me. When I spoke to the Office Manager on 8/8/22, she indicated that her boss felt they had 'spent plenty' on this and weren't looking to spend much more. Obviously, I was not concerned about what their contractors were charging them, I just want the damage they caused in my kitchen repaired. I don't post negative reviews very often because I really want to work it out with the business. After almost 6 months, and dozens of unreturned phone calls, it seemed important to let others know that the Lombard office is ineffective and dishonest to deal with. The BathFitter products are very nice, but do not work with the Lombard office. If there are any issues with the install, they will not resolve them. Their strategy seems to be to lie to you until you give up and stop calling them back. read more

Horrible nightmare. Worst customer service ever. They say on my deposit over 2 months without even ordering materials. Never called me regarding timing. I had to make several calls to even get the materials ordered!!! Installation happens, but water does not all drain out of tub. It pools up and sits there. To get this fixed took back seat to other installations going on. I was told by Bathfitter to be here at 8 am for repair. No one shows up so I phone around 11am. I'm told that my work wasn't as important as new installations going on, and the installer would get to me when he's done with installation. Now I don't live here. I live an hour away. Why wouldn't Bathfitter have been proactive in telling me new schedule? Just unimaginable! Sitting here for 7+ hours waiting for them to fix the defective tub. read more

The tub arrived on time. The installer, Wally was friendly and did great work! He again gave us instructions on how to care for it, and left the bathroom better than he found it. Very bad experience!!! Tub was installed and plumbing was not completely connected by their so called plumber. Flooded my kitchen, ruined the ceiling and every dry hood that I had in my cabinets!! Called to complain the only way to get reimbursed for the groceries was to show a receipt which I didn't have since the stuff was bought over a week ago. They had to come back out and take the cabinets down, cut open the ceiling and connect everything properly. Then repair the ceiling while I waited 2 days for everything to dry so they could rehang the cabinets. Meanwhile no discount/refund or reimbursement for the dry goods damaged. Then to to it off the used 1.5 inch piping which is fine for a sink but not a tub. Called to complain again and was blown off and they refused to come back out said I need to call a plumber and have the line rodded out. Bulls@&$ I had to call a plumber after I took the cabinets down and cut the ceiling open so the professional plumber could take everything apart and install 2 inch pipe. Needless to say I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone unless it is to an enemy to do any work at all. read more

I just had a custom shower stall installed and could not be happier. I had a tub done 8 years ago and it still looks brand new. I wanted to add a shower so I called Bath Fitters again. Jon was my salesman and Fernando was my installer. When Fernando arrived he reviewed the plans I contracted for. Everything was perfect. He got to work and did an excellent job. Everything is perfect and I love it!! I also need to give Donna in Customer Service/Dispatch. She coordinated everything with me. She was very informative, kept me informed on the progress of my order. helped with a permit hiccup caused by the COVID shut downs, scheduled the install and followed up afterwards. Doesn't deserve a star! Came and did a cover, sealing was horrible. When you call to pay to reseal they take down everything, never call back! Took me a month and harassing to get it. Then a hung over individual shows up early in the AM, because they didn't want to come. I'm making my reviews, to bring to court. This location is the worst! Pick another! I had to record and save emails. Save everything!!!! Once they get money, you'll hate it. Pay attention to details! My Grandmother was taken advantage of. It's life! I want to warn others! Be safe! I had a bad experience with Bathfitter!!! I live south suburbs of Chicago, so the Mokena and Lombard offices were going to service me. The sales consultant, Keenan, was very good at his job, and after 3 other bath remodeling came to my home, I thought and felt then that Bathfitter was the best. But I was mistaken. Worst customer service ever. I called Bathfitter to find out about the permit on October 4th and was told by Lori, she had emailed the info to me on Sept.15, which I never got. This process started August 19th I started looking deeper for Bathfitter reviews, and was astonished at how many horrendous reviews there was. The Bbb rating was an F. I called bathfitter again, and spoke to Donna, who assured me once I got the permit(another $100) to call them back so as to schedule an installation date. Please read everything on back of contract, because cancellation is out. They will charge you extra for any damage or unfinished work, and will not guarantee that in writing. Bathfitter refused to make a consultation appointment with us because my 8 months pregnant wife couldn't bring herself and our 1.5 year old to the consultation at our new house which is an hour away from where we currently live. The guy on the phone said, "It's not that far away" when I explained why my wife couldn't be there. I drove several miles to Lombard, saw no reason to phone first since it was 2:00 on a Saturday afternoon. The location is offset in a big industrial park and hard to find. When I saw Main St., I expected the showroom would be in a retail area. Long story short: they were CLOSED. Door locked, nobody there, no indication of what their business hours are. I was very disgusted. If it was after 5:00 PM, or on a Sunday, I would have blamed myself. But 2:00 on a Saturday? If you go, call first! read more

The staff was very courteous and professional and the work was completed in a professional manner. However, we were told that Bath Fitters is the only company that installs with no seams. However, that is not the case. There are seams around the wall and the tub. Also, the trim around the tub looks cheap. It has only been up a few days and is already coming loose. read more

my brother had bathfitter do his bathroom.we lived together.i never used his bathroom. he recently died. my daughter moved in and when she took a bath water leaked into my first floor closet.i looked at the tub and there is no water spigot to fill the tub and the overflow was not hooked up.the goofs tiled over it. i called bathfitter and was told to "reach out to a plumber" because they said there was no warranty. what goes around comes around. read more

In regards to the Bath Fitter warranty: We called Bath Fitters after our tub began to show signs of yellowing in one spot. Without asking how or what we used to clean the tub, or even to email pictures, we were told it was a cleaner we used. We explained that we only used approved cleaners and have been very diligent. Their response was that they could send someone out for $125.00 to look at it, try a cleaner, but they would not guarantee it would work. What about their warranty, as we used only their recommended cleaners? They then said it could be almost anything we used including soaps and shampoos. Do not waste the extra money expecting a warranty-find a handyman! read more

Be aware of Bath Fitter. We contacted the bath fitter to remodel our both bathrooms. Salesman Kevin Flanagan spent over four hours with us explaining the project, talking about politics, religion, culture and being so kind. I guess that's what sales people do to have you sign the contract right away. We paid $4000 on our credit card and set the date. While he was explaining the project he suggested that a bath fitter will take care of everything such as village permits and all. Story was changed after I paid $4000, according to him, they would take care of only the paperwork and I have to get a permit from the city of Evanston. I was like I am paying you over $15000 of course you would take care of appreciation. Anyway still it was not a dealbreaker, now the city of Evanston is not taking any paperwork due to Covid in person and online wait time can take up to 3 months. We decided to get an express permit. However we can't get an expedited permit because bath fitter's installers are not registered with the city of Evanston. It's been over a month since they have our money. We tried to call them several times and email them, my husband even emailed them stating he would complain about this in the Better Business Bureau...nothing, no response. We are not sure who to call or where to get any answers now. Per contract if we decide not to get the project done then we lose our hard earned money $4000. Now our next step is to try small claims court and see if we get our money back. We have never experienced such poor and unprofessional service from any vendors before in our life. I had my bathtub and tub liner replaced by Bath Fitter. They tell you it a lifetime warranty. I called because the glue between the old wall and the new wall was no longer adhesive. I called and they said that was not covered. Now it is so noticeable that the glue is not stuck to the old wall. They also told me it was 110 per visit. I would never recommend Bath Fitter to anyone. I have also noticed mold. That leads me to think about what is between the old wall and the new wall. DONT BOTHER WITH THIS COMPANY NOT WORTH IT. read more

The installers did a great job and overall I am happy with the results however the costumer service is the worst! It took me calling multiple times to even get an appointment for a service repair guy to come out to my home and then they never followed up with me. I finally had to contact corporate to get a response and when I did the manager at the local office was extremely rude. read more

Had my tub installed, less than a year and a half later there is a massive amount of water between the old tub and the insert. They then want to charge me again for coming out to fix their work. Apparently they feel any issue that is not "immediate" is user error and not due to their inept work. read more

Update from their previous 2 star review. I have now had them out to fix the water between the liner and the tub 4 times. Approximately once a year. They now charge $110 per visit. Each time it happens, water starts dripping on to the ceiling in the bathroom below the tub - damaging that ceiling. Which, of course, they won't repair. Not to worry though, I just called because it is happening again and they will be out in 2 weeks - their earliest appointment. How are they so busy. This was a horrible experience. I set up a day for the person to come out for a quote and the scheduler scheduled it for the wrong day. I had to rearrange my plans to meet with the person. The person was supposed to call before he came but didn't. Because I was on call for work so in case I got called in. Then there was the Quote! I was quoted over $5,000.00 for a standard tub and surround with a door. No plumbing needed or anything fancy. That is a ridiculous price. I can do a entire remodel of a bathroom for that. I went to their showroom to see samples of finished bathrooms and it was decent if you do not want to do a "complete" remodel of your bathroom. The product looks plastic (it's acrylic), so I was hesitant. The sales rep. talked me into getting an estimate, so I made an appointment and they said my husband would also have to be there. The latest appointment was 6pm and the only date available at that time, happened to be on our Anniversary. So my husband and I had to leave work early using PTO, rearranged our dinner plans and they did NOT show up for the appointment. NO CALL - NO SHOW!!! The showers that were installed are nice enough, but I do have a beef with Bath Fitter, or this office at least, for 2 reasons. Most importantly, they have a unique rubber "bottom sweep" at the base of the shower door, to seal it when it closes. Most if not all shower doors have such a piece to prevent leaking during a shower, and, for most showers, you can get standard replacements at any hardware store. Well, Bath Fitter uses their own slightly differently sized bottom sweep, which would probably sell for about $3 if they were willing to sell you the part when yours wears out, but they will NOT sell it to you. You need to have a technician come out, for a $75 charge, to have this item "installed" i.e. slid into the opening at the base of your shower door. So if you get a Bath Fitter shower from this office, realize that every few years you'll need to have a house call from a repairman, just to slide a new rubber piece into the bottom edge of your shower door. Bath Fitter will not sell you any item to fit their showers--you need everything installed by one of their repairmen, no matter how small the "repair." Hence, you will have many, many $75 house calls. And if this office should close, there is no other in the area, so you will be stuck with a shower that has non-standard parts, and no nearby office to supply them, even with a house call. This is what I have learned. The second, less important thing that bothers me about this office is that the LAST thing I was told after the showers were all installed, and I mean the LAST thing, was that only certain cleansers can be used on the Bath Fitter surfaces. They are not hard-to-find cleansers, but they are very gentle ones, so you can't scrub scrub scrub with something like Comet to get the shower clean. I had a similar situation with buying a vinyl floor recently, and was told what cleansers I could use when I was CONSIDERING buying the floor, BEFORE I had paid. To tell you that you'll be limited to using only certain cleansers practically as they slip out the door at the end is too late, in my estimation. Would I have bought these showers if I had known I would not be able to get replacement parts and install them myself, would need to have house calls every few years because the parts are unique to bathfitter, would be in trouble if the one local office closes, and would need to be very careful every time I cleaned, using certain gentle cleansers only, and not scrubbing too hard? Probably not. read more

Before contracting with Bath Fitter to replace the tub and shower liners, my 3-piece porcelain fixtures worked perfectly. The shower shut off completely. The hot and cold water fixtures turned on fully. Rather than buy new fixtures from Bath Fitter, we asked that our existing fixtures be reinstalled. Unfortunately, the shower fixture was either broken or reinstalled improperly because now the shower will not shut off completely. When the water is turned on, the shower starts flowing - not dribbling but fully flowing - even though the fixture is in the "off" position. We asked Bath Fitter for a plumber to come out and fix the problem, but when he arrived he said he couldn't do anything because we had not purchased the fixtures from Bath Fitter. Now, the cost for a reputable plumber to repair/replace these fixtures is almost $1200. read more

They did a great job! I needed an all-in-one type service: designer, installer, and cleaner. Not only did customer service call me right away after I inquired about their services, they sent an agent when it was convenient to my schedule. The agent then explained the process very well and helped design my bathroom. They even raised the shower head since I had an older designed bathroom. I did have to call them after 2 weeks because I had not heard back when the install would be scheduled. They scheduled the install on a date convenient for me. They worked directly with my building mgmt office to make sure they were w/n the rules and could get the water shut off. The installer came on time and installed everything in one day! He then cleaned up. I highly recommend this professional and proud company. read more

This company did a good job and delivered as expected until something went wrong. The first time I went to use my new tub, my downstairs neighbor was flooded. So, I had to stop showering altogether. Since it was a Sunday, I left messages with several people at this company stating that it was an emergency and I needed them to fix it first thing Monday. I had to take a vacation day to wait for them and they did not bother to show up until 4:00. They promised to fix it the next day- ANOTHER VACATION DAY to accommodate their poor work. That isn't the worst part. Jim, the "manager" decided in a feat of unbelievable misogyny to offer me "a nice dinner on him" and handed me a business card instead of crediting me for the two days and all of the damage they caused.
