Quite frankly, based on past experiences with contractors, I didn't want to deal with sales people. People whose only job is to sell and aren't responsible for performing the actual work themselves. Salespeople are more interested in up charging and selling things you don't need in order to over-inflate the invoice and possibly earn a bigger commission. I prefer working with smaller, local companies that are honest and have a great reputation. That is what prompted me to reach out to this company. My experience working with Ryan Lesak at Forever Dry was wonderful. I can't say enough good things about his company. He was on-time for his appointment, super friendly, genuine and extremely knowledgeable. Not to mention, before the visit he spent 30 minutes on the phone with me discussing the issue, thinking it may be a foundation issue, and providing sound advice regarding condo bylaws, real estate, etc. His father happens to be a real estate attorney. After spending time investigating the issue, which included cutting some dry wall and visiting my next door neighbors unit, Ryan discovered the seepage I was experiencing was a result of my next door neighbor, (connecting townhome unit), who had some long-standing issues that they didn't fix in a timely manner. Their hot water heater was leaking and the condenser on their AC unit was clogged. The constant flow of water on in their utility room floor was seeping into my basement. Unfortunately, I incurred damage to my unit as a result. Ryan recommended resources I can call (handyman & carpet repair) once my neighbor resolves their issues. Despite my constant insisting, Ryan refused to charge me for the visit. This is unheard of. Who does that these days? No one! My experience was extremely positive with this company. I will definitely refer this business to anyone needing waterproofing repair. I am grateful I found this company.

I regret having to post this because Real Seal has done good work in the past, but unfortunately…read morethis experience was different. I called them about water intrusion into our ground level bedroom. They diagnosed the water issue as two foundation cracks and charged $1,700 for the repair plus a $250 overtime fee. The work was completed and done satisfactorily, but the actual source turned out to be a leaking water heater not the cracks. Yes, the repairs could be considered necessary in the long run, but there was no need to expedite this repair. Their recommendation was an educated guess rather than a proper diagnostic process to ensure the two cracks were the actual source of water intrusion. I was trusting their professional service to provide an accurate diagnostic. When I requested a refund of the overtime fee only (given the cracks were not actively leaking) and a goodwill discount (given the damages I incurred due to time wasted, since this was not actually the problem), they offered to remove a $100 late payment fee I didn't even know existed and a $50 goodwill discount. The offer is something, but it fell short, especially because the director was curt and seemed more interested in closing out the conversation than actually resolving a legitimate complaint. Get a second opinion before agreeing to any foundation work. EDITED IN RESPONSE TO COMPANY DOUBLING DOWN... I appreciate the response but I would like to expand on a few of the comments made. While Saturday was accommodating, it was only necessary due to the incorrect diagnosis. Your team tried to schedule me a week and a half out. I asked if they could do better. Your team then offered Saturday. It wasn't for my convenience, it was a necessity as a result of your diagnosis. My walls were supposedly actively leaking water, of course I wanted this done as soon as possible. If this was correctly diagnosed, I could've had the cracks repaired anytime. Additionally, you specifically told me on the phone, this $250 fee was directly for a technician's overtime, which in your words, "is why you cannot refund it." Not a standard Saturday service fee, as you've now stated publicly. In regards to the $100 late payment fee, while it may be outlined in the contract, a courtesy reminder would have been appropriate given I was not onsite for the repair and never received a final invoice on the day of service. How was I expected to pay within the terms without ever receiving a bill? Your response also confirms my original review. Your diagnosis was based on another company's assessment rather than your own independent verification. A proper diagnostic process would have verified that water was NOT actually entering through the cracks. Yes, the cracks were there, but no, they were not actively leaking. Hence my request to remove the "service fee." I hired you to stop the water intrusion, not simply repair my foundation. The water heater was the actual source.

I was in the very beginning stages of a full basement remodel when I desperately needed to find a new contractor. I sent Martin an email and received a call back immediately. Martin came out the next day to take a look at the job and to give a quote. From day 1, Martin has been transparent about everything that was needed and what the job would entail. Our basement was down to the concrete and studs, so there was a great deal of work ahead with our project. With the pandemic, I was working from home and was able to continue doing so normally upstairs during the entire remodel. Martin and his crew were professional, friendly, CLEAN, and took care of our home like it was their own. Each crew member who came to work in our home was respectful and took pride in their work. Martin has a lot of experience as a general contractor, and that was helpful to us when making decisions during the remodel. He was excellent at communication, and he let us know each day when to expect him or a member of his crew at our house. Martin handled pulling all permits and passed each Village inspection with no issues at all. What was appreciated the most was the condition my basement was left in at the end of each workday. His crew really took the time to make sure everything was clean, organized, and not left with hazardous material behind. Martin has an attention to detail that truly reflects in the quality and final product of his work. He refused to cut corners, and that showed with our beautifully finished basement. Our basement remodel was undoubtedly a huge investment, and while we went over budget, we could not have asked for better work to be done. Martin's work was worth every dollar spent. One thing completely unrelated to my remodel that I would like to share because I believe this shows Martin's true character and the type of person he is. Through the same local Facebook group where I found his business, I also discovered that he and his family have had a food pantry/bin set up outside their home since the start of the pandemic (March). Anyone from the community is welcomed to come take or donate nonperishables as needed. I read many, many comments of people who were beyond grateful to have this available in their time of need. What a truly thoughtful way to give back to your neighbors and the community, especially when so many families are hurting financially. You can read 5-star review after 5-star review of someone and their business, but to read and see how someone directly gives back to their community is worth a million bucks. Thank you, Martin! I will start saving up now for the next remodel project we call you for!

A year later joist seemed to be ok, however the structure is sustained by my 2 floor jacks so I am sure it helps a lot since some brackets have only one concrete nail into the foundation wall. The waterproofing job is not so waterproofed, there is water seeping in maybe over the top of their waterproofing job.... I am not sure since I've installed brickpavers in front of the patio doors. Martin came out, looked at the issues with one of his installers and said that the paver bricks should have been installed with a waterproofing membrane and everything should've been caulked and seal the pavers (which we've already had sealed last year). He offered to seal everything for $700 which I thought was just ridiculous when I've already paid them to waterproof the area. I am disappointed with this company and hopefully this review will help other owners looking for professionals to adress waterproofing issues. Thank you and good luck!

But then they said that they never said that our basement would stop flooding after they did work to it. They were extremely aggressive and mean. Not just rude, but actually verbally, aggressive, and on the attack. I am a woman and was at home alone when their service man came out and he was yelling at me and frankly, I was pretty scared and uncomfortable having a grown man that is a stranger yell at me in my house. It was the worst experience I have had in a long time and they have already cost me all of my property tax money that I had to spend fixing the basement . Now I have to sell my house or I'll lose it. I lost so many thousands of dollars because my basement flooded after they told me that it wouldn't anymore. My roommate had had to move out and actually became homeless for a little while and had to live in a homeless shelter because her bedroom was in the basement. Luckily, she finally found a place to live. No help to Everseal. This was the first house I had lived in For more than a couple of years . I've lived here for over 11 years and now I have to move because everseal ripped me off and lied to me. Don't ever use this company. They will lie to you and not tell you everything. they will promise you would dry basement and then tell you that they never promised that and it wasn't their responsibility to make your basement dry. He told me I have water coming in from the sewer and seepage and that he's not gonna help me with either one of them and he's not gonna help me at all. I've never seen a more unprofessional company in my life. I can't believe he started yelling at me. I am a victim of violent crimes so that really scared me extra. Save yourself from the Horrible experience I had with them and go to somebody else. They are nothing but con artists and scammers. They will take many thousands of dollars from you and your basement will still flood.
