I used ULB Dry Waterproofing for 2 projects. One was to update a sump pump. They made the hole deeper and wider and installed a new pump with battery backup. This summer I had them install drain tile as I was still having a few water issues and are remodeling and wanted to make sure we could use this as living space without any leakage issues. I have been a homeowner for over 40 years, so I have dealt with a lot of contractors and ULB was the absolute worst experience I have ever had. I used Angi's list to replace my egress basement windows. Vince, the ULB sales representative came out to give me an estimate. I also had 2 other companies and decided to go with ULB. I ordered sliding, pull out windows and outdoor trim, just like the ones that were already there. They came out on 6/19 to install the new "custom" windows. It was 95 that day and we were in the middle of a drought. They laid the old windows and metal frames on the grass for 5 hours, which burned my lawn. They did offer to pay for the damage. I went to see the new windows after they completed their work and saw they put in the wrong window. It was not a sliding window and the only way to open the window was to remove it from the frame and there was no trim. When I shared this with the installer, he told me he didn't do trim and kept repeating "but they open". I found him very rude and condescending. Vince was contacted and told me he would order the replacement windows the following day (6/20). A few days later Vince sent me an email telling me he would like to come over and bring a window so I can see what it looks like. He shows up without the window, stating it didn't fit in his vehicle. (31" x 37") He remeasured for the windows. I sent him an email that day asking for a picture of the window, no response. I sent another email, it took a week to get a picture. I was told it would take 3 - 4 weeks for the second set of windows to come in. I waited over 5 weeks to check on the status of the windows, no response, 6 weeks again no response. It wasn't until almost 3 months later that the windows were in and I was contacted. On 9/26, different installers came out. I asked if they were also going to put the trim in too, they knew nothing about the trim. They called the office and were told that someone would come out the next day for the trim. When they completed their work and went to check out the windows. They were too small. There was an inch of foam on the top, bottom and sides of the window and again the wrong windows. Only one side of the window would slide the other was stationary. They were not egress windows and would not pass code. I was told that someone from the company would get in touch with me later that day, or the next. I contacted Vince immediately and he responded hours later writing "I am almost sure both parts pop out". After two weeks of not hearing from anyone, I wrote an email to Vince and the company giving them one last chance to get back to me before I file a complaint with the BBB. They wanted me to give them one more chance to put in another set of windows. At this point, I did not trust them and felt that everyone I worked with was incompetent. They kept calling their work an "inconvenience" instead of owning up to their unprofessional work. I did file a complaint with the BBB and then was able to only pay for the other work that they did. The owner took off $200 for that bill. I did hire another company. When he took out the windows, he stated, the only thing holding the windows in place was the expanding foam. I now have new sliding egress windows securely installed with trim at 1/3 the cost that ULB. read more

Stoyan is a model of what you should get from a firm like this. I had dampness on the floor of my basement and within 10 seconds he knew it was not some sort of intrusion from the outside. He first thought it was a plumbing issue, but then after seeing where our HVAC is located isolated that the problem was a leaking humidifier. Didn't charge me a cent. I gave over a $4000 to Reliable Basements for waterproofing. After paying the deposit they changed the scope of the work and the price. At that point we asked for our deposit back. They wanted to negotiate. At that time I was going through treatment for breast cancer- which they knew. After I felt better I contacted them multiple times and left many messages with the woman answering calls. They never returned a single call. Next thing you know they merged with ULB Dry and said they are not honoring any of the previous work orders or warranties, even though it's all the same people. They're a bunch of con artists. I'm sure their positive reviews are fake. Don't throw your money away on hustlers. read more

ULB came out and inspected around the property and discovered my issue was due to a broken drain tile from the roof, fixed the issue for much cheaper and I haven't had a problem since. Full disclosure: I have not actually done business with ULB-DRY. But that's the reason they are getting 5 stars. I called after heavy leaking int he basement completely ready to fork over a boat load of money to fix the problem. I had initially called US Waterproofing and they quickly offered me a $4k plus repair, followed with lots of aggressive sales tactics. With ULB-DRY, I got quality customer service that was honest and never pushy. The consultant was completely straight with me and discouraged me from getting a repair done until I could isolate the problem myself. I had him out twice and he insisted that I did not need to do a big job until I was able to find where the water was coming from. He told me exactly what to do cheaply and left me on my way. No aggressive follow ups or anything. Just honest consulting and giving me an opportunity to figure out the problem before I spend thousands of dollars. Even though I have not actually spent money on service from ULB-DRY, I can confidently say they are straight shooters that will try their best to get you the exact service you need and nothing more. read more

I just bought a house in Glenview. I was looking for a company that could install a drainage solution to one side of my house. The grade runs towards the north side of the house causing excess water runoff and potential seepage into the basement. I did my research and found ULB-DRY Waterproofing. I have to say that the entire process was absolutely flawless. Their estimator came out to assess the situation and provide solutions. They had to come out a second time to perform a site survey to make sure their solution would work properly (making sure there was enough pitch from the front of the property to the back to drain the water). Once everything was assessed we scheduled a day for their crew to come out to perform the work (installing a french drain to move excess water build up away from the side of the house). They also connected one of my gutter downspouts to the pipe to drain that water away also. The crew was very professional, hard working, and technically sound.
