My family and I were visiting Bath following a trip from Stonehenge and we wanted to get some authentic Fish and Chips before we headed back to the city and we followed signs to this place.
As we entered we noticed that it was quite small with no tables to sit anywhere. They did, however, have standing bars along the backside of the shop where you could stand and eat your food.
Since the space was small, there were other visitors when we visited so the space was very tight and we hovered around while we waited for our food so that we can have a spot to eat once they left.
The prices for the Fish and Chips were reasonable and I ordered a large box to share and it was plenty. It was really good, the fish had a great crunch to it and was well seasoned. It was not oily and soggy like other Fish and Chips I've eaten in London before.
The fries were also very hot and fresh and we also ordered a lemon garlic dipping sauce which paired well with both the fish and fries.
They ger a 3 star because we had a member of our party that has a nut allergy and we asked the person manning the register if there were any nut products in the food.
Surprisingly, she didn't know if there were and wasn't willing to quickly ask the chef as her excuse was that she was the only person working the register.
It would've taken you just a few moments to ask so that he could've possibly partaken in eating your food but you refused. He had to end up going to another establishment to get food instead because of her unwillingness while everyone else ate the Fish and Chips. Very disappointing.
Honestly, you should know if you are serving anything that contains or may have traces of nuts. It is a very common thing restaurants to have knowledge of. read more
