    Sheri H.

Found a screaming deal here with my friend. She loaded up on air fresheners that were on sale after Christmas. I got a few 3 wick candles and some lotion. You have to try the smell of anything you buy here before you make your purchase. Some of the smells are cookoo and some are downright hideous. Others are amazeballs. Really great customer service at this location.

The customer service is horrible. The manager was not any help. She was as rude as the workers. I will not be back.

He made the whole process a blast, walking us through each step with energy and enthusiasm that kept things fun and easy to follow. Even while assisting multiple guests at once, he made sure we always felt supported and never left waiting. Once you're familiar with the process, you'll select a vessel and explore 30+ scent options displayed along a scent wall. The team helps you discover which fragrances blend well together to create your ideal combination. This is where Mikey's expertise really shined! He suggested scents I hadn't considered, and they worked beautifully with my favorite scents. After creating your perfect scent ratio, the oils are blended into wax, and left to set for 2-3 hours. Prices were comparable to other handmade candles you find at farmers markets, plus ELM uses a coconut apricot wax. Be sure to book a reservation, they fill up quick!

I know Elm Candle through work and remembered some of my work colleagues coming here to do a team bonding event. My girl friend was turning 30 and said she would be doing a birthday activity here! Our scent specialist, Mikey was super helpful! They had everything prepared for our ladies to partake in the session and the instructions were on the card which was super cute since it also had a 'Thank You' at the back in support of their small business. You put your name and select which item you want to make. I chose a room spray since I have SO MANY candles at home! Mikey had us choose which container (room spray only had one kind) but candles had a variety. I wanted to make the reed diffuser initially but they were sold out! Next, they had a variety of scents on the wall so you could write those on your card and star your faves! Coffee beans were provided to help with your nose since you smell so many scents! Mikey was so patient with all of us and walked us through the process! I was super pleased with my scents. He evaluated each of our cards, asked us what kinds of scents we are into, and then gathered 3-4 essential oils to smell -- you can mix and match. You can omit one or add another depending on your preferences. We left with cute little bags! It was such a wonderful experience! It's a little pricey but definitely worth it.

I was here to grab a succulent (zebra haworthia), but of course I want to look around! I was greeted quickly when I walked in and noticed some air plants right away. I have a little pup that currently lives in a shot glass, so I was hoping to get the little guy a new home. Alas, they sell some air plants, but they don't really have holders for them. I opted to get a container for my new succulent while I was here as well. Basically all of the pots they have are technically too big, but I was able to find one that was close enough and matched the aesthetics of my Thanksgiving cactus's home. My new little friend isn't quite ready to replant, but with a little creativity I can at least hide the plastic pot. The shop also does some really nice candles and beautiful flower arrangements - pots and all included! Great local business that's worth popping your head in if you're in the area!

They had samples of tea and coffee to try before committing to an entire bag which is pretty considerate. One of the workers was very helpful in explaining their coffee selection and how it was roasted. Yes, some items still have a mark up, but you're paying for the convenience of all the stuff being in one place. They can't exactly draw you in with a loss leader. I bought some Fran's Gray and Smoked Salt Caramels and I've been slowly enjoying them since!

There's usually plenty of parking, but on weekends it can get very busy, so you may have to circle a bit. This was my first time visiting Made in Washington, and it's a great stop if it's your first time in Seattle and you want to check out locally made products. As soon as you walk in, there's a lot of chocolate, along with kitchen décor, lotions, and soaps. Some items are on the pricier side, but there are also more affordable options. My mom and I found a lotion for about $14 that smelled amazing. They also offer plenty of samples, which I really liked. Overall, the value is pretty decent, you'll find some things you love and some you may pass on. The only downside was the customer service. No one greeted or acknowledged us, and it felt like most of the staff stayed behind the register. Despite that, I still had a great experience and would recommend stopping by if you're looking for gifts or products that are made in Washington.

I had to say hello and greet them after 30 seconds of being inside. They also do not sell individual drinkers anymore, only in sets. Yes it's cheaper that way but what a bad business decision- would have paid more to buy 2 different glasses. As we were walking to check out, 2 more employees were standing in the way of the register and we had to excuse ourselves to get them to move out of the way so we could pay. All the women were stand off -ish and pretty rude. Although I live not even a half block away, I will be taking myself to eBay next time I'd like any more glassybabies. Doesn't matter how much of a cult following a business has, customer service is just as important.

Except for the Tesla booth, no one even bothered greeting us... yes, we brought our cute 7-month-old puppy with us. The music booth planted in the middle of everything was so loud it became obnoxious. Then there was the puppy booth with zero signage -- are they selling puppies or are they a rescue? No clue. The only visible sign said "not fully vaccinated," which raises the question: WHY are the puppies there to begin with? They shouldn't be there as a petting zoo, exposed to random dogs. There were maybe around 10 booths total, and at least 3 of them were just photo-op booths. The "doggy care" booth was especially confusing... what exactly are they even selling? Their setup also had real estate advertising mixed in. Overall, it felt poorly organized, underwhelming, and more geared toward Instagram photos than actual pet community engagement.
