Cass was amazing and attentive to my dog, made sure to let us know if she pooped or not and what the consistency was like. She even asked for a list of commands and tricks so she could practice some mental stimulation which was awesome! She was also more than happy to help us with training when it came to calm greetings, as my dog doesn't really meet with any other strangers at our home. Scheduling walks through Tanya was super easy. The app made everything super seamless, like showing us the route they walked and any comments from the walker. On days that Cass wasn't available, Tanya did try to match us with other walkers on her team but after we did meet and greets I honestly felt that they didn't respect our request to not encourage my dog to jump when greeting. That was a red flag to me, so I haven't exactly met any other walker that I felt comfortable with.

In fact, one time, hiring a non professional resulted in a neglectful tragedy so I was quite nervous and decided to this time hire a professional pet/house sitter. I am so glad I did. She cared for my 95 pound dog, 4 cats and my not so friendly bird. Shannon is not just professional, she is warm and loving to my kids. She is smart and able to handle whatever situation comes up with problem solving and common sense. The kind of common sense that comes from knowing animals. She watched for signs of how they were all doing, stress levels, needs, everything. I got texts that made me laugh and made it clear that she was caring for them as if they were her own. Also, some of the other pet/house sitters I talked to stay from 7 in the evening to 7 in the morning. I prefer Shannon's flexible schedule so that she is in and out during the day as well as sleeping there. She brought her young son with her for the overnights and he is a delight. He loooooooves animals and my animals loved him. Him coming along gives you a twofer. I hope she is available the next time I need to go away so I can leave without the stress of wondering if my pets are safe and cared for. Thank you Shannon!

Much to my surprise, she responded to my e-mail right away and said she would love to meet Moose and me, and that she had availability - even though I was asking for Christmas week! She was quick to respond to a check-in e-mail, and when I picked Moose up, he was happy, healthy, and maybe even a little bit reluctant to leave! I'd highly recommend Dog In, Dog Out, and Shannon, and I'll be sure to come back when I go out of town again!

Having newly relocated here last year, my number one priority was finding a caring and dependable…read moredog walker who could manage the high energy of my 2-year-old pup Roxy, alongside the tender pace of my senior pup Ruby, who's 14. This had been a challenge--until Carol stepped in. Almost a year into her 3-4x weekly visits, Carol's kindness, attentiveness, and reliability have been pivotal to my peace of mind during long and hectic workdays. A recent example of this was when Carol first noticed that Ruby had become more hesitant during walks, which signaled a potential health issue as Ruby has always loved her walks. Carol's insight prompted a vet visit that revealed a worsening of Ruby's arthritis--a condition I hadn't yet spotted. Rather than suggesting we increase the walk time, Carol took the time to adapt our walk schedule into one that would accommodate both the pace of Ruby's leisurely strolls and that of Roxy's spirited jaunts, ensuring neither pup misses out on their much-loved outings. Carol's text updates and photos of my pups' day always bring me a smile, as well as peace of mind. It's rare to find someone so kind, dependable, and tuned in to the dogs' needs. Carol's Eastside Dog Walking is not merely a service; it's a gift to any pet owner. Her dedication to our dogs' happiness and well-being earns my highest recommendation.

Why would you put your dog at a kennel type place if you have or had this option. My dog is practically like family to Cindy now. It's honestly invaluable what she provides. My dog is never in a crate, and gets to hang with Cindy and her family, go out back and check out the chickens and other animals, he's not locked up in a cage for 20 of 24 hours a day. I get the overnight kennel places probably not having the man power to pay one on one attention to those dogs, but it's just that your dog is going from free reign of your own home to being in a kennel for hours at a time. It's a huge adjustment and difference. With Cindy, they're going from your home, to a home. She gives you updates too on how your dog is doing and sometimes even sends off photos too. I recommend Cindy to any & everyone who's in need for a dog sitter.

We have used Janice (Butler Pet Services) as our pet sitter on several occasions. On our second to…read morelast encounter, we received a call at our hotel on the first night. Janice could not get her alarm code to work and, of course the alarm company called and I believe the police were there. After we arrived home, we tried the code that we had given to Janice and it worked fine. On our last vacation, Janice's responsibilities included feeding our three cats and giving our favorite cat, Walter, 1.5 units of insulin twice a day. We left explicit written instructions as to what to do and the medication bottle was clearly labeled. She had previously injected Walter without incident. We arrived at our destination. Janice called us the morning of the third day, and said Walter wasn't doing well, she found him on the floor by the front door, foaming at the mouth, and she was taking him to the vet. She called a while later, and explained that she had given Walter 5 units of insulin instead of 1.5. That dosage put Walter near death. After being at our vet that day, he was then taken to Critical Care. On the fourth day, we logged in and read an email Janice had sent on the morning of the second day asking if she should give Walter 5 units or 15 units. We left absolutely no question as to the proper dosage. Whether Janice gave Walter 5 units or 15, he fought hard for two days, then finally died. The vet said that Walter did not register any blood sugar at all when he was brought in and appeared to have some neurological damage as he was having seizures. All Janice had to do was read the bottle, our instructions or call our vet to find out what dosage to give Walter if there was any question at all, but for some reason she did not do so. For that reason she killed Walter. Our grief has only begun and we're sure life will never be quite the same as we will have difficulty ever trusting any pet sitter again. Janice's web site appears to indicate that she is no longer doing pet sitting as we suggested this as we were settling the issue with her. We hope she stands by her word but, if she doesn't, just think of Walter, his suffering and our continuing profound grief. We loved you Walter and hopefully your death will prevent others from suffering as you surely did. ==================================== 6/6/2010 Walter died one year ago today (6/6/2009). ==================================== 6/8/2011 Walter died two years ago this week..
