Give this small restaurant a try!! We were turned away from a sushi place that was close by and we…read morehappened to walk past this restaurant the night before. Didn't think much of it until we couldn't get seated at the sushi restaurant. We were seated right away near the entrance. It's hot in Praha in the summer!!! We order about 6 dishes and they were pretty decent for Europe. Coming from the San Gabriel Valley, Chinese food has to be exceptional and I think this place could survive in SGV as a mom and pop business. We ordered duck, fried rice, a fish dish, a corn soup, beef and broccoli (yep, I was traveling with young children, hahaha). These were dishes that pleased all of us. They were very decent especially if you're missing some Asian flavors in Praha.

The food was ok--the flavors were authentic. There was no greeting, just a menu dropped on the table while she walked away. When we tried to ask a simple question, she said look at the menu and walked away. Any attempt at polite engagement was shut down with curt answers. I don't need red-carpet treatment, but basic human decency shouldn't be too much to ask for. If you're looking for a peaceful dinner where you feel welcome, you might want to look elsewhere--or just stick to takeout.

It's been a while since I was in Prague (over 7 years, in fact), but judging by the picture of this…read moreplace, this here is the Chinese place to which I pledged allegiance when I resided on Křižíkova. My most favorite Činsky bufet, if you will. Many a night, my fellow vegetarian roomie and I would order take out from this place and carry it home to drink with 20kč bottles of Gambrinus and Staropramen from the potraviny on the first floor of our apartment building, rice and veggies doused in Thailand on a Plate sweet chile sauce, which has somehow never tasted as good as it did back then. Back in the day, Prague wasn't exactly a haven for vegetarians, so my options here--and a shit ton of other places as well--were awfully limited. But I was a big fan of the one veggie plate they had. I don't even really remember what it was anymore. Saucy vegetables consisting of mostly cabbage with a side of rice is what I remember. God, I loved that shit. I craved it. I still crave it sometimes, honestly. The Czech equivalent of lipgloss greasy lo mein at cheap Americanized Chinese places, it surely hit the spot. I honestly don't believe I ever ordered anything else from this restaurant. 4 stars may be a bit excessive, especially given that I haven't even been in the country since May 2007, but this place made me happy when I was in Prague. And it's a little daunting to be a shy, self-conscious girl in a country where a lot of people don't speak your language (I think a lot has changed since 2007); going out to eat and all that jazz was a little hard for me. Having this restaurant in my neighborhood, a mere hop skip & jump from my apartment, was really nice. Oh, Prague Chinese food, how I loved you. I will never forget you. Maybe eventually you'll be mine again. I can only hope.

Service is terribe. They forgot about my order and brought me food when my friends were done eatingread more

Kari's Rating 9.5/10…read more TLDR: -12/10 would come back! -Welcome shot was delicious -Rice is NOT included in the protein entrees -No shortage of Sauces My travel group and I have been in Prague for about four days and we've been rotating cuisines from traditional Czech, Italian, bakeries, candy shops, and now hitting Chinese. Coming from someone of Chinese descent, I thought the dishes were relatively authentic. A lot of the dishes we got included the Kung pow chicken, the braised, short rib, the drunken noodles, the black pepper, beef, and a Tom Kah soup. Not that I thought the soup would have be huge portion-but I wish the soup would have had a little bit more substance as it contained a slice of king oyster mushroom, a few noodles and a single piece of chicken. I did have to order rice on the side to substitute more of a substantial meal as this was considered my dinner. I was shocked that none of the protein oranges came with rice which I thought was a little bit weird but we all had a tag on a side of rice which was 68 crowns- or $3 .15. Again, not a huge deal, and the waiter did mention none of the dishes came with rice-so it was almost an automatic tag on. Definitely worth a stop in if you're in the area!

This is a beautiful, multilevel restaurant with an impressive design and interesting atmosphere…read more The space is definitely eye-catching, although some of the tables, especially on the lower level, are way too small for a group of five once all the dishes start arriving. We've even warned our server even before we started. The service was pleasant and responsive. A special thank you to Teresa V. for pleasant evening and for saving my glasses - really appreciated that!!! Unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment. Out of everything we ordered, the squid was probably the only thing that was somewhat enjoyable. We ordered three Tom Kha soups, and all were so salty that we had to send them back. The squid and calamari dish was okay only for the squid; the calamari was dry and over-fried. The curry sauce underneath was also confusing and completely covered the natural taste of the squid. The unagi wontons (2 orders) had a strange, rubbery texture, and the prawn ones were even harder to enjoy (left behind). To top it off, we were charged for a welcome drink?! Beautiful place and good service, but unfortunately, the food was far below expectations. For the price and reputation, this was a very disappointing experience, and I definitely won't be rushing back anytime soon.
