The food was ok--the flavors were authentic. On the other hand, the service was some of the most bafflingly hostile I've ever experienced. ​From the moment we walked in, our server treated our presence like a personal inconvenience. There was no greeting, just a menu dropped on the table while she walked away. When we tried to ask a simple question, she said look at the menu and walked away. Any attempt at polite engagement was shut down with curt answers. ​I don't need red-carpet treatment, but basic human decency shouldn't be too much to ask for. If you're looking for a peaceful dinner where you feel welcome, you might want to look elsewhere--or just stick to takeout. read more

Give this small restaurant a try!! We were turned away from a sushi place that was close by and we happened to walk past this restaurant the night before. Didn't think much of it until we couldn't get seated at the sushi restaurant. We were seated right away near the entrance. It's hot in Praha in the summer!!! We order about 6 dishes and they were pretty decent for Europe. Coming from the San Gabriel Valley, Chinese food has to be exceptional and I think this place could survive in SGV as a mom and pop business. We ordered duck, fried rice, a fish dish, a corn soup, beef and broccoli (yep, I was traveling with young children, hahaha). These were dishes that pleased all of us. They were very decent especially if you're missing some Asian flavors in Praha. read more

We absolutely loved this place. It was extremely close to the hotel we were staying at so we figured we'd try it out. Well we wound up eating here 3 times. Great food that wasn't greasy. We ordered it spicy and they delivered. Good beer and wine too.There were quite a few Asians eating here too, alway a good sign. We had the fried rice with ham and shrimp, outstanding, pork with bamboo and mushrooms and the shrimp dumplings. Everything was great. On the 3rd visit I finally went all the way to the back of the menu and discovered the B dinner for 2.It was excellent and very affordable. They had the best hot and sour soup, a great cabbage salad, 2 entrees pork and beef and fried bananas for dessert. It was so much food that we had to wrap it up. But nothing went to waste. A lot of places (especially popular ones) require a reservation for dinner. Yes, we found this out on our first night in Praha. Luckily, you can always count on Chinese food. This small restaurant was convenient and close to our hotel. We ordered the sio mai as a starter. It was a bit smaller in size, but still tasty. I ordered the 7-treasures hot pot with white rice. I thought it was really tasty, but I also didn't eat lunch. The owner who took our order is multi-lingual and spoke & understood English. She was friendly and the service was quick (which is not always the case in Praha). Craving Chinese food? Try this place out. read more

Was hungry and this place was close to my hotel. Outside the restaurant is a picture menu... oh great... a typical mediocre Chinese takeout place. Nothing could be further from the truth! The food was fresh and cooked to order. The prices were also very reasonable considering the location. Beer was 40 ck, soup 45 ck, and an order of fried rice for 2 was ~100 ck. My daughter & I were craving Chinese food for dinner & happily found this restaurant. It was just what we were looking for, an absolute delight. Small quaint family owned Chinese restaurant with amazing food. Best fried rice I've ever had! I'm embarrassed to admit this, but, we definitely ate here twice during our 3 day stay in Praha. To be fair, this was getting to the end of our time in Europe and we were missing Asian food in an awful way. Plus, this place was literally 50 ft from our hotel. Plus, Chinese food is the best after a night of Czech beers. The front (outside) of the restaurant has a huge graphic menu wall. I was really expecting the worst when I saw this. Inside, there were a lot of open tables with most of the customers appearing to be locals. I ordered the hot and sour soup and have to say it was the best Ive ever had...totally not expected. I ended up ordering a second one and then a delicious plate of fried rice. Easily one of the cheapest meals we had in Prague. Total with food for two and beers x2 was about 200ck or $10 usd. read more

In Los Angeles we have some excellent Chinese restaurants and it is one of my favorite foods. Moon Chinese Restaurant in Prague is a small restaurant and we sat in a small upstairs area where there was a total of four tables. It was hot, but a fan kept the air circulating and bearable. We shared four different dishes and had Hot & Sour Soup. Not sure that was smart given the heat, but it was delicious. We had two chicken dishes , a beef dish and chow mein. All of the dishes were fresh and very tasty and Gigi's service was good and attentive. If you have a taste for Chinese food, two thumbs up here at Moon. read more

When I travel, Chinese is my equivalent of comfort food. I usually wind up at a Chinese place late in my travels, and I try not to have high expectations; things usually go OK. It was my plan to eat Czech food, but Saturday night in central Prague was not a good time for casual dining solo. So I tried Moon instead. The place was empty, usually not a good sign. But the hostess was friendly and her English was good so I decided to stay. Flipping through the usual multi-page menu, there were few surprises. A whole page of rice noodles dishes was nice (I avoid gluten), as was the page of hot pot dishes. As I was deciding, I noticed a steady stream of people picking up take-out, an encouraging sign. I went with deep fried chicken wings and a five-meat rice noodle bowl. The "wings" were the meatier top half pieces, and they were huge. The fry batter was a thin glaze that held together well. The dipping sauce was a vinegar soy, unexpected and nicely pungent. The rice noodle bowl was not strongly seasoned. The base was chicken broth, rich and satisfying. After eating about half the bowl I added the table soy sauce, but went easy. A chili sauce was also available. Moon was clean, quiet, and although on a side street, easy to find. Look for the sign. I would go there again, and probably try a hot pot. I'm guessing the hot and sour soup will be good too. read more

Happened upon this place when it was getting too cool and wet to stay outside. Very nice atmosphere and good food! The soups were delicious as was the broccoli in garlic saucer and the prawns in spicy sauce. We also enjoyed the fried bananas wi ice cream. read more

Average chinese restaurant, reasonably cheap, but probably overpriced for Prague. I had hot & sour soup, followed by lemon chicken and rice. The hot & sour soup was perfectly good, but the lemon chicken was mostly batter surrounding the flattest piece of chicken ever created (I didn't even know it was possible to get chicken that thin without it falling to pieces!). You can do better in this part of Prague (although, I'm sure you can do worse also!). read more
