Actually, every bite was delicious!
Elysabeth R.

I liked this place so much yesterday that we came back today! The staff is cheerful and friendly and helpful; and the sushi is delicious. Highly recommend the Kamikaze Roll and the Marilyn Mon Roll. Punny and delicious! Bevard beer turns out to be Budweiser brewed in Prague-- too funny! And this might have been the best ikura I've had-- and it's my favorite so I have it a lot! You aren't necessarily expected to tip in Prague, but we did both days because the staff are so great! And huge portions! Strong recommend!

We waited patiently for 10 minutes for a table. We did not have a reservation. It was 415pm when we walked in. We were swiftly taken back after 10 minutes. Then we didn't have any service for another 10-15 minutes. Luckily we were ready to order drinks, appetizers and the main course. Once the server came back, she was swift bringing our drinks and taking our order. We ordered a couple of appetizers (seaweed salad and fried calamari with a spicy sauce) and a large sushi boat (sashimi, nigiri and rolls). We continued to order a specialty roll as well as a couple of sushi cones. Pro: Asian men at the sushi bar making the dishes. While we were waiting, we could see them making the dishes and it looked incredible. Pro: Prices reasonable (in US dollars). Sushi boat worked out to $41! (945kc) Con: VERY slow service. Even on the cooks end. Long delay between courses and items ordered. Seems that might be the Czech way unfortunately. Con: stuck in the back room where we seemed to be forgotten about (and with another American family)

[OVERALL] A pretty upscale Japanese restaurant in Prague. The interior is decorated very nicely and has a modern touch. The service is super nice and professional, and there are Asians at the sushi bar making the sushi. The quality matches the price of the food, and I'd definitely recommend Yami for good Japanese food. The restaurant also holds a decent amount of people. There's a HUGE list of specialty rolls and a good selection of traditional sushi as well as à la carte options. My friends and I really enjoy the food here and don't really have any complaints. The tap water here costs 50 CZK and comes with mint and orange/lemon slices. [FOOD] Marilyn Mon Roll: This roll is as good as the pun. This roll is SUPER filling and tastes amazing. The two sauces are very creamy, the salmon roe cuts through the heaviness nicely, and the ingredients come together for a really nice flavor. The pieces are really big, so it might take two bites for people to finish. Aburi Spicy Hotate (Spicy Scallop): Though very expensive, it was really good and refreshing. It's only very slightly spicy. Unadon: Super super good. The eel is nice and tender, the sauce is on point, and the rice is slightly sticky and nice. If you want, you can also replace the side miso soup with another bowl of rice (which is great for people who love carbs like I do). It's a solid 5-star dish. Mochi & Green Tea Panna Cotta: The only dish I didn't enjoy thoroughly. The panna cotta doesn't really have flavor, and the mocha (filled with red bean) is just as tasteless. Was pretty disappointed with it.

7th of August roll

Where do I even start? Yami was the highlight of my week, every week, sometimes multiple times a week. Each bite of the exquisite rolls was like a party of flavors for my tastebuds. Have tasted more than 2/3 of the menu and let me tell you, there is no such thing as a bad roll here. Top suggestions: geisha roll, 7th of August roll, soeul to soeul roll, philly roll, kamikaze roll, volcano roll, French kiss roll, yami roll For the nice girl who doesn't eat carbs: the house salad has a really good dressing

Best sushi in Prague, and other countries I've eaten sushi in. It is in a central location, but a bit trickh to find. Totally worthit. Great, fast service. Book a table

Wow. This place has huge portions!! Super fresh. Great chill place. Staff is very friendly. I would recommend if you are looking for something other than meat and potatoes.

I've been here a few times because I'd say that it's probably the best Japanese restaurant in Prague, however, there are a few caveats. First, there aren't that many really good Japanese places in Prague so it doesn't have much competition and second, it's very pricey compared to most of the food in Prague (so you would hope that it's the best). I wound up getting salmon teriyaki one time, chicken teriyaki one time, tempura, edamame, and unadon and I'd say that the portion sizes are relatively small for the money. I wound up getting like 5-6 pieces of chicken and 3 pieces of salmon so it wasn't particularly filling. The overall flavors were good, but the price is a bit steep considering it's Prague. However, that didn't deter me from coming back many times because I really love Japanese food!

11 piece nigiri + tiger roll + sake chirashi + eel handroll

This place is pretty good. While all reviews say reservations and we made reservations, on a Sunday night it looked like there were open tables. Either way, menu is expansive and there is a ton. The sake chirashi had a plentiful amount of sashimi portion and the nigiri 11 piece sampler was fresh. The tiger roll was good, but just a bit too much rice. Overall. Great spot in Prague!

Best sushi I've ever had!! So good and so fresh. The pieces are pretty big and one roll really fills you up. Service was also great everyone is very kind and helpful. We got the yaki gyoza, gangman style roll, and the spider roll.

Sushi set, top to bottom: spider roll, dragon roll, triple S roll. All very nice!

Probably the first place where I'm willing to pay the high cost because that's how good it is. Hidden away on a side street about 5 min away from the Karlovo Namesti metro stop, this place is authentic Japanese. They have a great lunch menu as well as a number of seasonal menus and degustation dishes. I ordered the Miyabi -small, which contained grilled salmon, steamed pork in sauce, tempura, spinach with some sort of sauce and sesame, and pickled vegetables. Was not disappointed at all. The meal cost me 300 kc which is definitely expensive, but by American standards for Japanese food, the price isn't that appalling given how delicious and authentically prepared everything was. Miyabi's menu is great because it doesn't just serve sushi--they have a lot of other more authentic Japanese home-cooking style dishes. All in all, just a fantastic find and I'll definitely be back to try some more items. tldr; legit Japanese food in Prague at a higher price, but given the quality, so so worth it.

They have a very large menu but I opted for a Miso Ramen bowl. It was really big, super hot (temperature), and tasty. It definitely hit the spot because the ambient temperature was 27 degrees Fahrenheit! There was a wind chill also which really made things worse. Anyway, this rarely happens but I couldn't finish my bowl. Partly because it was a large portion but honestly I wasn't feeling100%. The broth was slightly salty (as compared to the Shoyu broth) and it was rich. They put in a raw egg into the broth and added a generous amount of fatty pork. On an ordinary day, the richness wouldn't have bothered me and I would have eaten 90% or more of the bowl. I focused on eating the veggies (bean sprouts and bok choy), the ramen itself, and only some of the pork. Service was ok. We had a party of six and the couldn't/wouldn't combine tables so we sat apart. It's a small restaurant so getting their attention was easy.

Noodles were perfectly al dente and soups were hot. Loved the fact they gave generous amount of toppings (we are so used to a tiny bit of toppings at many places in the U.S.). We left with full anf happy tummies. The service was great, too.
