Based on Sin's review, I came here. After all, thought "Why not?" It was in my neck of the woods and there aren't too many threaders in the North Valley. So, I came here a little lost. Basma works within Cortes Familiar, which is a "Beauyt Salon & Barber Shop." (Yes, that's how they spell "beauty.") This salon is actually located on the southeast corner of an inside an indoor swap meet within a plaza. (If that isn't a mouthful.) It's a parking lot shared with Vallarta Supermarket, which can be a nightmare depending on time of day and occasion. She was very chatty and nice. And, I'd give her a five on character and price. However, the two wasn't based on that. It was given based on her quality of work. She started with threading, but then finished off by tweezers. Had I known, I would have never gone. The tweezing left me with red bumps, gross! Sorry, Basma. You're really sweet, but I'm not a fan. read more

Basma is excellent at shaping and trimming eyebrows. I am extremely particular when it comes to my eyebrows. I won't let just anyone touch them. I've been doing my eyebrows for 11 years and I've only let 4 ppl work on them. She's a sweet lady and really takes her time. The reason I didn't give 5 starts is because I've noticed it's a little more painful with her than the other places I've been to. Pleasantly surprised!! This place is located next door to La Michoacana Ice Cream parlor in the barbershop. Basma is in the back right hand corner. I was a walk in and she took me immediately. She was very nice, friendly and inviting. She did a great job on my eyebrows and it only took about 5 minutes! It didn't hurt much either, especially compared to multiple other places I have tried. I love how she leaves my eyebrows! I only trust her with them because she takes her time & does them perfectly well. She doesn't leave them too thin or too thick. I've had other people do my eyebrows & they always leave extra hairs when threatening them or they leave them too thin. However, Basma has never left them too thin and she always gives them the shape I want. She is really patient & won't get upset if I ask her to tweak some of the little hairs of my eyebrows that are hard to get with the threat.
