My daughter has Celiac disease and misses out on a lot of fun events. My friend had a clown come birthday here at BR and I thought my daughter would have to miss out again. Sam from BR texted and called me, while on vacation, to answer any questions I had and to let me know how she thought my daughter could have a safe experience. I brought in a gluten free cone, and they kept it in plastic and away from other items. They also opened up a new tub of ice cream for her so there would not be any cross contamination with the ice cream scoopers. We had a wonderful time and I am so grateful for their kindness! I we ordered a special order cake for our daughter's 5th birthday. All she wanted was a 3 tiered Elsa cake for her birthday. So to make her dream come true we placed an order for 5 days out. Sam told us yes it could be done. The weather changed and so we called in 2 days in advance and asked that the cake be made sooner. We were told yes. My mother in law picked up the cake and it was so ugly. I mean I am embarrassed how could they send us home with this cake. It was expensive. So I call the shop. Multiple times. I and get to answer. No voicemail. I write to corporate and Sam calls me immediately. She says she's sorry but let me tell you how this happened. The order got moved up they were in a rush. Then they did the wrong flavor in the middle. I empathize. And we agree to a partial refund. She says she will call me the next day. I dont hear from her all day. 7pm I message her. Oh sorry I'll call you at 1pm tomorrow. At almost 4pm I message her again. She says oh sorry I am in Novato today. Thats when I got snippy. I said oh I understand they phones dont work in Novato. She issues the refund over the phone. At this point though I'm pretty upset because what we budgeted for my daughter's birthday was largely taken up by her adorable request and that story cannot be happily remembered or photographed due to this monstrosity of a cake and the 3 days of being yanked around. I feel like this kind of service is whybpeople become demanding customers. Being understanding only got me a partial refund and 3 days of wondering. I wanted to to let this go but I'm really sad. I totally dropped the ball on preordering a unicorn cake for my daughter's birthday and thought I could just get one in their premade freezer because they are usually there. 100% Five Star Review! We got some ice cream around 9pm on a Sunday. We got to quarts of ice cream-it was during the virus so we called ahead to make sure they were open. Not only were they open they said they would set aside the ice cream for us and also give us 5 free ice cream cones that would go bad the next day if they were not ate. This is a prime example of customer service going above and beyond expectations. I wish Yelp would delete all the bad reviews with the old owner the new owner put the modern local feel into a old-town chain favorite. The worst Custer service ever. In fact no customer service at all. Granted it was a bit busy. The guy behind the counter did not even acknowledge the Custer's and barely interacted with the one Custer paying for his order. He was mosying and slow and acted like he was at home and barely able to get motivated to make his own cup of coffee. The poorest service ever!!!!!!!!!!!! I walked out.. I couldn't get his attention to take an order. I wonder if he even knows he is at a JOB that he gets paid to wear a smile and greet people with cheer while being officient. Service has gone downhill. I called today to see if they still had their 2 for 1 Wednesday special. The girl told me " yeah sure" . I drove down with my kids and she refused to honor the special, saying it was over. She then proceeded to serve me the smallest scoop of ice cream I have ever seen.
