I think something happened before. Regardless, I don't have a dog and it doesn't affect me. What matters is the ice cream. They get the milk from Guernsey cows which you can visit at certain times. The milk is super creamy. As a result, the ice cream is thicker and creamier than others. I like their creamy flavor if you like plain. They circulate flavors and recently tried their strawberry which has chunks of strawberry and has a nice flavor profile. They are right off the road so easy access. They have picnic benches all around and a playground for kids. Certain times in Spring/Summer, there's a flower field to look at. The service is good. Never had problems. The inside is rustic and simple. The main thing is to get the ice cream which is worth it in my opinion. It is a farther drive for me, but the quality doesn't compare. They have several toppings and I wanted to get Butterscotch or Hot Fudge, but the employee reminded me of something: their ice cream is soft serve, so if I wanted to add toppings to my cone, it would need to be placed upside down in a cup. I settled on their jimmies instead (aka sprinkles) and got it on a small vanilla ice cream cone. I had a choice of chocolate or rainbow jimmies and went with the latter. Within a minute or less, I realized the small cone I selected was rather tiny and it had a wallop of ice cream on top. Within seconds, I could see it was about to melt right after it was handed to me, so I grabbed as many napkins as I needed. As I sat on one of their many picnic tables and proceeded to lick one side of this massive cone in front of me, I could feel the drips on the other side of my tiny cone, and this wasn't even on a hot day. I "tried" to be quick but ended up having some of the ice cream melt to the ground or on my fingers. Napkins to the rescue!!! Once I felt I was in control of this cone, the ice cream was good, plus you can't go wrong with vanilla. I was still glad I visited.

The location has four service windows, yet only two were being used. Employees would occasionally call out that they could help the next person, but they were speaking so quietly that it was difficult to hear them. The drive-through wasn't much better, with roughly 10 cars waiting when I was there. They also provide sidewalk chalk for customers, which is a nice idea, but people were drawing and gathering directly around the ordering windows. Because there isn't already a designated waiting area or line, that just made it even harder to tell where customers were supposed to stand or walk. What should have been a simple stop for ice cream turned into about a 15-minute wait with people basically standing around trying to figure out what was going on. The ice cream wasn't bad, but it also wasn't good enough to make me overlook the experience. With two grocery stores right nearby where I could have picked up ice cream and been on my way, I left feeling like the wait and confusion simply weren't worth it. FYI they also sell fresh milk at their farm in Walkersville. Best off-the-shelf chocolate milk I've ever had. Be advised that they accept credit cards at the truck but the farm is cash-only.
