The service here can definitely be hit or miss, but based on our recent visits, we've actually had pretty good experiences. The staff has been friendly and the overall service has been consistent, which I really appreciate. My only wish is that there were more shaded areas around the place because it can get pretty hot, especially when you're waiting or trying to enjoy your ice cream outside. One complaint I do have, though, is that the ice cream is way too soft by the time the server hands it to me. It starts melting almost immediately, which can make it a little messy and difficult to enjoy. I know some softness is expected, but it would be nice if the ice cream were a bit firmer when served. read more

Popular local ice cream stop that opens late! They have a lot of flavor options to choose from and I've noticed they even have an oat milk based option now as well. Service is pretty quick as there are multiple windows to order from. There is also the drive through window to order at. Right along RT 355 as you drive by you can see how busy it is on summer evenings. It can get pretty packed! The ice cream is a bit more on the creamy side but also not as cold. It melts somewhat fast. It's still a nice place for some family ice cream nights or even with friends as you could grab some ice cream and sit on the benches out front of just sit in your car. read more

One sunny weekend when the temperature was hot, I thought since I was in the area, I would come and try something different. As I drove in the lot, I could tell the place was busy (a line in their drive-thru and lots of folks at the entrance (ordering or picking up, I was not sure). I was willing to wait. I saw they had some June specials and a few caught my eye: Brookie - Upside Down Pineapple Cake Jamaican Me Crazy Key Lime Pie Mixed Berry Cheesecake Strawberry Matcha Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Ube There were some others, but I could not decide on which one I wanted (wished I could try all the above). I settled on the one called "Jamaican Me Crazy". The employee described it as: Coconut Ice Cream with Fudge Swirl and Almonds. I only got 1 small scoop since I was trying it for the first time - it was good. Next time, I will need to get 2 scoops as I really enjoyed the flavor of that one. The line in front went very quickly as I sat and ate my ice cream on the premises. There were several employees tending to the customers. I wonder if I can make it back before the end of June to try some of those other flavors, seeing that I have a $1 off coupon. read more

Bruster's is a great stop for some summer ice cream! It's a grab and go kind of place but they have outdoor seating sprinkled around. I noticed they added more lawn chairs since the weathers nice! The staff is always helpful and quick at serving orders. They have a bunch of flavors to pick from and honestly it can be sort of a hit or miss. The classics are always great though like the cookies and cream or butter pecan. I got the cherry vanilla and honestly that's my bad because I thought it would be real cherries not maraschino cherries lol. The mixed berry cheesecake was so good though, it had a mixed berry jam and graham crackers swirled throughout. The pistachio was another slight miss for us. I appreciate the amount of pistachios sprinkled throughout but the base was giving amaretto/almond flavoring as opposed to a true pistachio ice cream. (I also don't like amaretto) so that doesn't help lol but overall glad I tried the flavors and now I can try different ones next time! read more

I'm a long time fan of Bruster's! Today I tried their strawberry matcha which is part of their spring 2026 menu. It was essentially their strawberry ice cream and matcha put together. The strawberry flavor was very strong, so much so that I couldn't really taste the matcha. So it's good if you're a strawberry ice cream fan! I did like how it wasn't too sweet. David had the Caramel Brownie Batter. It is very caramel-y. The brownie bits are very much ooey gooey batter-like rather than solid brownie chunks. I do think the single scoop is a bit overpriced ($5.20 something) which was only $.70 cents less than David's double scoop. read more

First time visiting this Bruster's location, which is a standalone building with a drive through and walk up window in the shopping center. When I arrived, there were a couple of cars in the drive through. I walked up to the window to order, and the friendly staff recommended the seasonal black raspberry chocolate flavor, which she let me sample. The ice cream was very creamy and had chunks of chocolate chips Very tasty treat on a warm summer day, and the waffle cone was good. The little cone holder also saved my clothes from melting ice cream, so that was a good design decision. Thanks Bruster's for being a great ice cream stop! read more

This has been my family tradition to come here right when the weather breaks. My favorite thing about Bruster's is the FLAVOR OPTIONS and they change every so often. My favorites over the years have been *Cotton candy explosion - Milkshake / or as Waffle cone *Birthday cake milkshake with crumbled Oreo & sprinkles. If they don't have birthday cake, I get the same toppings with cake batter ice cream. Today I got Cotton Candy explosion milkshake , my son got 1 kids cup cookie dough ice cream topped with M&M , and my daughter got a small waffle cup with cake batter and whipped cream. We always go across the street to the local town center to lounge and eat there and it's always a vibe. Now for the first time today I order online ... and I will say there was a bit of confusion with my order but they didn't take long to retrieve it, but aside from today there never been any friction ordering. read more

I had never been to Bruster's before, and I'm so glad that changed. The shop boasts so many creative and delicious flavors, such as Dubai Chocolate (packed with pistachio) and even offers free samples. The staff honestly seem to enjoy working there and could not be nicer. The shop offers walk-up ordering and there is seating (although I am sure it's packed during the summer). I went with Birthday Cake on a cup and it came chock full of sprinkles, in such a generous portion. There is plenty of free outdoor parking in the shopping complex. read more

Been a while since we have been back to this place. It is busy as always. I recommend parking further away to not be in the crosshairs of the cars that are waiting for the drive through. I remembered this place having overly sweet options, but this time around, I ended up getting flavors just at the right sweetness. I tried the Ube flavor and the Strawberry Matcha flavor. Both excellent choices. They make it so quick. Oh! Don't be daunted by the amount of people because they move fast and most people stick around to eat their ice cream before leaving. So it may look like a lot of people, but they aren't all waiting in line. So I have been around the ice cream block several times now and I have to say this place has the most variety for the value and freshness. The downside for me is how busy and loud it can be here that could end up making the experience less pleasant. When we were here, cars were revving and honking. Kids screaming and running around. And it was hard to have a peaceful chat while having ice cream. This in turn made us hurry up and finish the ice cream so that we could leave. This has to do with the location and the population density here. Nothing on Brusters but still a consideration if you plan on visiting. read more

Unfortunately, when ordering a banana split, you advise them the ice creams you want the toppings you want and it's a gamble what toppings are gonna come on ice cream but I was pleasantly surprised that the cherry vanilla had hot fudge on it. The butter pecan had marshmallow on it, and the caramel apple crunch had the butterscotch whoever Made my banana split did an awesome job. read more

Best ice cream I have ever had! The taste of each flavor is like eating fresh real cream without all the artificial flavors and sweetness. I adore most of the special flavors but especially love the "butter brickle" and the nutty coconut! read more

I was hoping to really love this ice cream spot but it was just ok. Located in the parking lot of a strip mall, they do have a lot of flavors to choose from. A lot of them are a bit over the top, so if you like ice cream which has lots of stuff added, it might be for you. An example is the coffee oreo. I've had this many other times which I've liked when the oreo pieces are small and just add flavor. Here, they are almost half pieces so they dominate both in terms of size and flavor. I had a waffle cone which was good. They have waffle cups and the usual other cones and bowls. The ice cream itself was reasonably creamy, however it was already melting when it was served. Granted it was a hot day outside, but it was very melted before it even got in my hands. That isn't great. One other knit was that the server didn't give any napkins out. I had to go back to ask for some and by then, it was a runny mess making it less enjoyable to eat. Overall, it was ok, but given how many other ice cream places exist, I don't think I would return. read more

First, I would like to say this is the best location I've ever been to. They have outstanding customer service I love their chocolate chip ice cream. Unfortunately, I found out they discontinued my flavor again . So I asked the cashier what other flavors they would recommend to me since chocolate chip is the only flavor I've ever had. She mentioned chocolate chip cookie dough. I told her Nahh, I don't like that one. Then she mentioned how about mint chocolate chip? I told her I've never had it before. So she asked me if I wanted to try it. Of course, darling, I sure do. Y'all, I've been in a relationship with this one ever since. Thank you to the wonderful cashier who helped me find my new favorite flavor. Oh please don't get rid of this one . read more

I didn't think I'd come here to review a chained ice cream store that I regularly goes to, but I am amazed by the new flavor tonight I feel like it deserves a recommendation out loud! My family comes here probably at least twice a month even during the winter season, they are always high quality, creamy, great quantity and nice customer service. Already a spot you should go if you are nearby, but tonight, as a pregnant woman craving calls... We went 10 mins before they close at 10pm. I have their Bruster's reward which is also why we go there often, and I got a notification about 2 new flavors - Strawberry Matcha and Mixed Berries Cheesecake for Spring. While I remember Mixed berries Cheesecake and not arouse about it; matcha?! I don't think I've seen an Asian style tea before which I'm intrigued to try. Oh my word, what a surprise! I got myself ready that it could be too sweet or odd matcha flavors, I've had too many places that make matcha ice cream and either made it too strong that made it bitter, or not creamy enough cause it's a "tea ice cream", or worst is too sweet cause they want to cover that bitterness of not using high quality matcha. Bruster's Strawberry Matcha was perfect! It's creamy, not too sweet, matcha strong but not bitter, and the strawberry also, has some strawberries sandy seeds in it! It's perfect spring flavor ice cream! The texture and the creaminess really surprised me. I think this might be my new go-to flavor! Overall I say you definitely should try them. It's a great hangout spot as well. Be adventurous and try their new flavors cause they are not joking about being expert in making quality ice cream! read more

Sometimes you wake up with a hankering for ice cream in the middle of winter what can I say? I got the banana nut bread ice cream and when I tell you my jaw DROPPED after I took the first bite. Love the convenience of a drive through, and staff didn't mind that it took me three years to pick a flavor off of their huge list! No indoor seating, you walk or drive up which feels very fun and I can imagine this place might be very busy in summer! Very chill ice cream shop (pun intended) read more

This place always has a line and for what? Very overhyped. The ice cream is always so sugary and cheap tasting. We need to replace this with a Jeni's ice cream... they're not as sweet and much more creamier. I'll leave it at a 3 since it fulfills the itch but it is definitely not 5 star ice cream!! read more

Service was slow, there were a bunch of kids behind the counter "working" but only 2 people taking orders. The 2 taking orders then went and made said orders before moving on to the next customer. Not efficient and a huge waste of payroll in my opinion. Whoever is in charge- I suggest you assign every one working a role and they stay doing task. It was frustrating to watch so much payroll wasting as I waited in line. I am totally fine with a line because the ice cream is decent but it will be a while before I come back to give another chance. read more

4 Stars Bruster's in Germantown is my go-to ice cream spot, and I keep coming back for one thing: Nutty Coconut. It's perfectly creamy, nutty, and just the right amount of sweet. I always get it in a cup no toppings needed, it's that good, to me. There's a solid variety of flavors, and the ice cream quality is always on point. If you get there early, there's outdoor seating available and plenty of parking, which is a big plus. Now for the not-so-great: the line is always long!!! especially in the evenings or on weekends. The drive-thru? Even longer. Service is fine, but when they're slammed, you can't expect too much. Honestly, I recommend doing online pickup to skip the wait and just grab and go. Super easy. Overall, Bruster's is definitely worth it especially for that Nutty Coconut. Just come with a little patience (or a game plan) and you'll be good to go! read more

Best ice cream in the DMV, hands down! The consistency is perfect - creamy but not too milky & not overwhelmingly sweet like most places. Delicious ice cream treats with many flavors including a sugar free option which changes regularly. A nostalgic experience of waiting in line around the cute red building and deciding which flavor to try as they frequently change new flavors. My fave is strawberry and I usually do a 2 scoop waffle cone. I do one of my go to strawberry and one of a new flavor. Last time I tried the banana pudding new flavor and was not disappointed. Also - the line is usually very long during prime times but the staff never let it get to them. They are so friendly and move the line quickly. May i recommend little hand flags for the cashiers ? I notice sometimes these wonderful employees have to yell multiple times to get next in line to their window. I bet after all the customers they have sore throats after work. They could wave a little flag out the window notifying the line their window was open to next in line instead of having to overwork their voices just a thought It's truly the best ice cream around. read more
