The cheesecake ice cream was super creamy, and the mix of graham cracker crust, strawberries, and blueberries gave it the perfect balance of sweet and tart. Loved the texture and flavor combo. The staff was friendly and quick, and everything tasted fresh. Only reason it's not a full 5 stars is the price a bit steep for the size. Their services are r dally bad. Have been a resident for over 15 yrs and in the past year they have gone from bad to worse. There is a bald guy working there seems to be the manager is the worst. He had similar issues while working at Phillys cheese cake at Walmart Germantown( inside the store) where he had multiple complaints. He sees you waiting - looks at you and never bothers and moves on counting the money. When asked he appears to be busy and very very dismissive. This is an older review, but at the time of my visit (August 2021), I had a decent experience at Cold Stone. I was interested in using a gift card to place my order online and get curbside pick-up, but there was an issue with the website and I was unable to. Luckily, it was not too busy in the shop and I was able to safely place my order with a team member. There was another issue at the cash register because I wanted to pay with my gift card card so checking out took longer than expected (the cashier had to switch registers toward the end of my transaction). I was annoyed, but maybe it was because I had ice cream in my hands that was not already in my stomach... Anyway, my family and I snagged a table at the outdoor seating area of the shop and I finally got some ice cream in me. My husband had the Smart Brookie and I got the Cookie Mintster, both in waffle bowls, Like It size. The ice cream came to $19.56 with tax, pre-tip. I came to pick up my Mom's bday treat and I was very pleased. The employees were very helpful and assisted me quickly. They had all type of cakes, ice cream flavors, toppings, cones and cups. I really like the candy apples they have on display along with the stuffed teddy bears for sale. Many kids were here with their parents and many ordered Oreo or vanilla flavor. I appreciate that the Kentlands location is still open until 10 pm every night! Grad school the last few years definitely had me on a not normal schedule and covid has made everything stranger. Sometimes you need a bunch of comfort treats mixed into your ice cream after 9 pm and it would just be a mess at home- which I assume is the business model behind any of these places (Cold Stone, Maggie Moos, Marble Slab). It is located with the Chipotle, in the corner of the Lowes parking lot, across the corner from Chic Fil A and across the lot from Giant. There are a couple sets of tables and chairs outside. Now you can get a variety of chocolates/candied treats like caramel apples, chocolate covered marshmallows and such by Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory? I don't know how new this is, the employee helping us said it had been a while but the website says "new" so maybe 'new' is a relative term. We went just before closing the other night and had a good experience. I asked for the Chocolate Devotion, but with sprinkles instead of chocolate chips. My sister ordered the Chocolate Devotion as it is usually made (brownies, fudge, and chocolate chips). The store is a little warm, so once the ice cream is worked it is a little melty, but I feel like that comes with the territory of this approach to ice cream. The two employees we saw had masks on. Saw the other staff member who wasn't making our ice cream wiping down the freezer in the lobby area that customers can open for cakes and other frozen items that aren't single serve from behind the counter. So the shop seems to be being well kept. Cold Stone isn't exactly a bargain, but if you are willing to spend the money on it, this location is convenient and a real treat :) read more

am an elderly disabled hard of hearing person. I called the store at 12:00 to inquire if they had a certain item in stock before I made an online order so I didn't waste my time. The person who answered the phone would not speak above a whisper. After asking several times for him to please speak up I asked for a manger. He said no, I then asked to be transferred to a different employee, he then hung up on me. I called back and asked his name, I think he said Amir. When I asked him to speak louder he hung up on me AGAIN!!! tried calling back several times and went straight to voice mail. This cold stone is conveniently located in the Kentlands..so you can walk across the parking lot over to a spin class at zengo and burn off the ice cream calories you just helplessly consumed..OR walk over to Cava before getting dessert at cold stone..OR get a massage at hand and stone, then head over to cold stone for a post relaxation treat....OR pick up tools at Lowe's before....uhh....you pretty much get the point. But after visiting this location several times, my review is prompted by the great service I received the other day. The first few times I've been here, the worker/ice cream preparer wasn't particularly enthusiastic or kind..just kinda apathetic, but nothing I would yelp about..cause my ice cream is way more important than their dry attitude. But during my most recent visit, the guys and girls working there were kind, funny, and thoughtful! I ordered a pint size of a signature creation (strawberry blonde), and I was concerned that my graham cracker topping would get soggy when mixed into the ice cream. The guy making my order reassured me that it should be fine once I put it in the freezer, but to give me more peace of mind, he suggested giving me the graham cracker topping in a separate side container. Now...that might not seem like a big deal, but just the thoughtfulness and kindness given with this customer service was phenomenal to me. So..all in all, I highly recommend this location...but don't take it personal if the service is a little dry. On those occasions, my husband gladly throws me in the car and zips us over to Cold Stone (clearly, he's a fan of ice cream). Personally, to me, it's just overpriced frozen milk...but I do have to give props to the employees here that they are willing to put up with my nuttiness in making my ice cream. For example, I may order the Strawberry Cheesecake, but with strawberry ice cream, and instead of graham crackers, more strawberries...which basically turns into a strawberry ice cream with added strawberries...which I can't simply just order - I must make it convoluted, and the employees here gladly comply. I love cold stone. I ordered today from uber and been craving for a milkshake and ordered a pre packed quart as well. I didn't care on how much it costs and even gave a 25% tip to the driver because I appreciate what they do. I waited 1 hour and when it arrived, there was no milkshake! It's just way too expensive. They seriously charge OVER $5 for the smallest cup of ice cream there. And, you only get one topping. Staff isn't all that friendly either. Needless to say, they don't really have a great selection that sets them aside from other ice cream parlors in the area.
