I was ordering for a friend, so I wasn't really sure what I was getting. We walk in, and instead of getting greeted, three employees just stared at us. Unsure of which end of the counter I needed to be at I just stared back waiting for a hello, welcome, I can help you over here, etc. Nothing. So I just stood there, uncomfortable, waiting for somebody to take my order. It was almost like they didn't want to help us and the sucker had to take our order. They were very unfriendly. Overall, very refreshing iced tea. A bonus is they sell multiple sizes and even by the gallon. Convenient location to campus.

I have been shopping at Brookshires Bros since June of 2004. I stopped patronizing the N…read more Timberland location in 2021 because they instituted a policy of not allowing white customers to enter the store while wearing a backpack. To patronize that store, said backpack must first be surrendered. Black customers were not asked to surrender their property to shop at Ghetto Bros, as the store was called. Nor were women required to give up their purses or tote bags to shop there. I am disabled, do not drive, do ride a bicycle and use a backpack for my shopping needs. The former manager of BB's at the S. Chestnut location never had a problem with my wearing my backpack in the store. Before 2021, neither did any manger at the former N. Timberland location. Today, Darren Colvin the current manager of the S. Chestnut location informed me that location is now adopting this selective policy. Upon being asked if the store would be responsible if someone stole my backpack or items from in while in the stores possession, Mr. Colvin declined to answer. Brookshires Bros has now lost a 22 year customer. I'll never shop at Brookshires Bros again. I'll also be asking all of my friends, neighbors, and family to boycott Brookshires Bros.

The produce and meat depts are the best for selection and freshness. In the deli their fried chicken is just great and they have two chili cheese dogs for 3.99 which has to be the best buy ever. I also use their shop online with home delivery and the service is amazing. It would be nice if they would reduce the delivery charge for senior citizens who no longer drive who live not far from the store.
