I enjoy visiting Baskin-Robbins for a few of my favorite ice cream flavors that hold a special place in my heart. Now that I've been to multiple Baskin-Robbins locations all around Houston, I know that each shop may have varying flavor options. At this particular shop, there is plenty of strip plaza parking, though there are many signs that are reserved for specific retailers/no restaurant parking. I can understand why as it transitions into the evening and the restaurant nearby gets packed with customers looking to park. This Baskin-Robbins shop has more than a handful of tables inside for guests to enjoy their ice cream. Besides their hard ice cream by the cone or cup, they also offer sundaes, take-home quarts, novelty bars, frozen beverages, flavor flights, cakes, pies, and even kits to build at home. The staff are friendly and efficient to scoop up your favorite flavors and have been patient for when guests can't decide. There are plenty of flavors to choose from...think 31 unique flavors! My all time favorite is the Triple Mango, as I find it most fragrant with actual mango chunks inside. Their Rum Raisin and Cherries Jubilee are my next runners up. Once in a while, I'll go for one of their seasonal flavors, which are just as satisfying. I am typically a soft serve kinda gal, but the hard ice cream at Baskin-Robbins is a home run. We love coming here for a nice treat during the week. My favorite ice cream flavor is strawberry cheesecake which they don't always all of the time. My husband loves the jamoca almond fudge flavor. The service is always great! The only downfall is there is a school across the street. Try to avoid the after school crowd because this is where the kids hang out after school. Other than that definitely recommend treating yourself. read more

This place deserves five stars just for the staff. if you stop by around 4:00 to 4:30pm on a weekday, the place will be packed with school-aged kids. The people who work there are incredibly patient, taking orders and delivering them with courtesy, despite the mayhem and occasional screaming of school girls. I have taken my kids there a few times, and the ice cream was fresh, the servings were generous, and the employees were saints. I recommend this place, but I'd suggest avoiding the after-school rush. read more

I stopped in here for a cone of mango ice cream. The service was great and it was fast. There seemed to be a photo shoot going on inside? The construction outside is annoying, but I found a parking spot easily. Cones are pricey, but the ice cream was very good. I took off a star because whatever paper they use for the cones made it hard to get the paper ofd of the cone. The glue or whatever from the paper was actually impossible to get off. Yes!!!! So to be honest we had just come from a very bad restaurant experience where the customer experience was just plain bad. We needed a win in the worst way to salvage the night. So upon leaving the bad restaurant we decided we needed Baskin Robbins to save the night. One thing you can count on from them is the staff always making you feel happy you came buy to see them. Woo hoo! Who knew that this simple branch across from Lamar High School in the middle of River Oaks hadn't been reviewed yet? Six Choir Guy and I came here after our trip to Frank's Pizza downtown. It is a good bet that we'll stop in here for a kid's cone after wherever we have dinner - it gives us a chance to talk more on the drive over as well as puts some time distance between the main meal and dessert. This outpost sits in a typical strip center which also has a Crescent City Beignets branch but has the advantage that you can sit on the raised sidewalk if you don't want to sit inside the shop. I know it was a little busy with the kids getting out of school across the street from the location. And then there was an Baskin-Robbins inspector there. But there was no reason to short change me on my purchases. I purchased (3) quarts of fresh dipped ice cream and ask the server to please make sure the ice cream is packed an weighed. I'm not going to comment on the ice cream because this is a franchise so you know the ice cream is very good. However the service and atmosphere was very nice. The sweet older gentleman was very accommodating because my husband is a very indecisive man and took a while to decide. Yet, he always had a smile on his face. Then his son or grandson said they came in to open up for a few hours at Christmas! Which I think the whole neighborhood was grateful for. I know my sister-in-law was very happy as she was craving some ice cream and most places are closed for Christmas. Given my recent visits to Amy's, I have to give a shout out to good ole Baskin Robbins. They may not custom mix your ice cream, but their flavors and ice cream are pretty darn good. Best of all, the service at this location is swift, clean, friendly and just the way it should be. Sure, Rocky Road might not be as highfalutin as a one-of-a-kind creamery concoction found at other ice cream joints....but sometimes it's just nice to get a taste of the classics and be treated nice.
