I'm a really huge fan of this Popsicle stand! It was only a few steps away from my apartment in…read moredowntown Clinton and it was always a refreshing treat! One unique thing to Popsicle stands in the south is they have dairy Popsicles! Which are wonderful! Many of times after class I would pop in and get their avocado-coconut or their cookies and cream Popsicle! They're absolutely delightful! If you don't like dairy they also have dairy-free and gluten-free Popsicles to try! One of my favorite dairy-free pops is mango habanero! Has a great kick to it! The price of the pops are a little high especially because I can buy a whole box of pops for the same price! However, it's the specialty flavors you're paying for! (If you have a Mississippi College ID it knocks 1/5 the price off!) It's a fun place to go with friends as there are plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available! There are oversized checkerboards outside as well as tick tack toe boards inside! If you go to Mississippi College or are ever in Clinton this is a great place to get a cool treat on a hot Mississippi day!

Pretty great pops place, open later than most and conveniently located on the brick streets right…read moredown from cups. Has a wide, and interesting selection of flavors. I love the champagne mango and cookies and cream. I also appreciate that they don't melt quickly like many other pops I've encountered. Over all, will be frequenting often!

I'm a huge custard fan, and whenever I'm in Mississippi, Bop's is a must-stop. The custard is the…read moreperfect, creamy consistency and so good. I went out on a limb from my usual concrete tradition to try their cobbler a-la mode. I was admittedly skeptical because if your custard is perfect and your specialty, surely the cobbler is mid and an afterthought, right??! Nope. It's great! The staff reassured me, and they were absolutely correct. It's also served hot and compliments the custard beautifully. Here's to yet another huge win at a Mississippi Bop's location. Cheers!

It was time for a sweet treat! We decided to take a chance on Bop's…read more We were happy to see that this location has a drive through. The line was a bit slow. Since we were not in rush, it was fine. We ordered the "Margaritaville" sundae which was vanilla custard, pineapple, coconut, & bananas. Roasted Pecans were added. We also ordered the "Bop's Favorite"concrete. This had strawberries and chocolate flakes, but again, roasted pecans were added. We enjoyed our cold treats. But I think I enjoyed their great website even better. It was colorful, easy to use, and had photographs of all menu items. From the website, I learned that they have multiple locations, provide catering, offer franchises, and have an interesting history. They have a loyalty rewards program. You can purchase e-gift cards too! As for my custard, it was a fun treat. It was just a bit more soupy/soft than I prefer. Also, the hubs asked for no whipped cream, but his sundae was topped with plenty whipped cream anyway. The hostess replied that it was a long day and asked if we wanted her to scrape off the whipped cream.

Once you're are in the drive-thru line you can't get out so prepare to wait…read more We waited in line for 30 minutes for us to get up to the window and order a concrete with Kit Kat to be told that they don't have Kit Kat. Kat Kat was listed on the menu and when I asked the young lady at the window if they were out of it or did they have all the other candies available, she said we don't have it. So we ordered two concrete with chocolate chips instead. Their menu says the concretes come with vanilla custard but they handed me chocolate. When I ask why they gave us chocolate instead, the girl swore up and don't that I told her chocolate custard. I wanted to spend my money at a local business but between the long line and argumentative employees, you're better off just going to sonic or some other chain ice cream shop.

First off, this place looks cool. It has the whole retro thing going on. Bop's Frozen Custard kind…read moreof reminds me of a 1950's type diner and the staff was definitely friendly and professional. Looking at the menu, I saw what they called the Peanut Butter Mountain and being somewhat obsessed with ice cream and peanut butter, I went with this option. The Peanut Butter Mountain is vanilla custard, Reese's peanut butter cups, peanut butter sauce, and hot fudge. Let me say that this turned out to be an amazing choice and the price was definitely more than fair. A large version of this was under eight dollars. As I said, it is more than fair in terms of pricing and again, this was definitely an amazing dessert. Bop's Frozen Custard is a wonderful choice for a frozen treat and I would definitely recommend this establishment.

Summary for the busy executive: Nostalgia Creamery markets…read moreitself as a place that evokes memories of the good old days. But just as importantly, it is helping people make memories (and enjoy delicious treats) in the here and now. Full review: Mendenhall is one of the most charming small towns in central Mississippi. At the top of its Main Street sits a grand, neo-classical courthouse. At its bottom is a lumbering old hotel. In-between is Nostalgia Creamery, adding no small amount of charm of its own, and dishing up delicious ice cream. The space is decorated by a mastermind. Glowing lightbulbs read "Nostalgia Creamery." Painted ice cream cones adorn the walls. There is pink everywhere, alongside neon green. Some vinyl records and an old cash register (covered in candy) add to the ambiance. The whole package is one of a vague sense of fondness for old things: there's a touch of the 1950s, a touch of the 1980s, and a whole lot of cuteness. The space isn't just about the atmosphere. Customers are here for ice cream --- and ice cream they receive. There are about two dozen flavors to choose from, along with the expected options for cones, toppings, and so forth. The staff can make any flavor into a milkshake, which is what I went for: a peach milkshake on a 100-degree day absolutely hit the spot. For those who like candy, it's for sale by the pound. If you want to linger inside the darling space (and who wouldn't), there's free wi-fi and ample seating. Every time that I have been here, the staff behind the counter (mostly teens and young people) have been unfailingly polite and welcoming to everybody who has come in. This is a highly recommended business for those who enjoy sweet treats, and a wonderful addition to Mendenhall's downtown.
