But, once she is done with the sale, she speaks lively and loudly to the cake trimmer. She goes on, loudly, about her personal life for the ENTIRE time I am there eating my dessert, only stopping for short, curt times to attend to another customer. I find this obnoxious and irritating and not enjoyable. If I could eat my ice cream cone and drive at the same time, I would leave. Sometimes on a day when life is less than perfect and one wants "something" to plug the void, only ice cream will do. Especially if one has warm memories associated with the cold stuff. Maybe they're why my favorite BR flavors still taste so extra wonderful. I'm only supposed to eat ice cream made from coconut milk, and it can be really good - but isn't THIS good. Service was satisfactory too so I'd give another star if this (oddly isolated) location was kept up better. The wife and I went here last week for some dessert after a nice meal and we're shocked when one of the new owners pulled out a small scooper for the ice cream. We did not really think that getting an ice cream cake in the middle of Palm Springs would be such an ordeal. We were more worried about it melting on the way back home, but we cranked the AC and hoped for the best. The freezer was stocked with plenty options. They close at 10pm and we're big hearted enough to reopen the doors exactly at 10 so my little family could all have ice cream. They didn't give us an attitude and served us with a smile. Please bless them. The rite aid down the street told us they close at 10 pm so had to be there by 945 to be served. I asked why if they closed at ten and the gentlemen told me because they start cleaning at 945 and closing down. (NOT GOOD customer service) I've worked for retail stores like forever 21 and the children's place and I know it's annoying to get the last minute shoppers.... so I'm sorry we came late, but you two will never ever know how grateful I am that you both made my kids night. Good ice cream but unfortunately according to this sign, if you buy two or more scoops you get a free waffle cone to go with it. All three of us bought ice cream with two scoops but didn't notice the sign. The rude woman working the register didn't mention any of it to us. When we finally realized the sign was there, we asked to get the cones, the woman denied it to us. She gave us a totally made-up reason on why we couldn't have it. I was surprised at the lack of fruit flavors but perhaps they are not so popular in this area. The crew was friendly was eager to offer samples and take an order, even advising best deals. Sadly I cannot go beyond three stars for Baskin-Robbins simply because of the ingredients. There are far superior ice cream purveyors these days using fresh and simple ingredients which any ice cream fan knows makes for an excellent ice cream. But I'll keep going back for the nostalgia, and the sundaes are still pretty good to annihilate that stubborn sweet craving. read more

I visited during the night shift and that's where I went wrong. My husband had a BOGO for their ice cream sandwiches, so we decided to get it after dinner (around 7 pm). First off, the girl had to ask another employee how to make an ice cream sandwich. Let that sink in. Then, she asked us twice what cookies we wanted and when we started saying which ice cream we wanted, she had the epiphany that we wanted 2. She didn't ask if we wanted any toppings around the edges, which is supposed to come standard, but at that point we just wanted to get out of there.
